  1. I am going to try getting to Ban Phe (Koh Samet pier link) via Rayong's bus terminal. Is it easy enough to tell them "Ban Phe" or can it be harder at these less touristed bus terminals?

  2. I've been in Pattaya 6 years and don't remember the last time I went to Bangkok for something other than to fly somewhere.

I'm considering moving to Phuket. I think the rarity of me flying places means, there is no downside to having Bangkok outside of driving distance.

Or do you Phuket locals disagree? I'm happy to hear considerations I'm not thinking about, thanks!

  3. Starting in Pattaya where I live I want to get to a nice island. On my list are Koh Mak (closes), Lipe, Phi Phi, maybe Samui. I am here on Volunteer Visa and do not have a vaccination.

I suppose I need to fill a TM-30 for staying 1-2 nights in another province. Is there anything else to be aware of? I may opt to take a shuttle van but will probably fly nearby to whichever Island I choose.

  4. I wonder what it's like living on an island that small. Of course the main land is not far away so maybe not that bad. In some sense it might be kind of cool to live on an island for so long. In another, the lack of diversity and options must get to long stayers. Anyone have stories to tell about a long stay on an island?

  5. So many beautiful oil painting shops but I am not comfortable hanging weighted objects on my walls. Can anyone recommend a nice shop for posters? Themes I like include: scenery, temples, buddha, and general beauty.

  6. Two deposits appeared in my Kasikorn account today:

    76,150 thb

    76,151 thb

This means wise.com has won. The wire cost 461 thb on the Schwab side.

This was the best possible result as it means if wise.com ever stops service, swift wires are also only 1 day turnaround and only $15 more expensive. The currency exchange rate appears only slightly worse than wise.com (since wise also deducted a fee which is visible in their final amount here, wheras the schwab wire fee is not).

  7. I just did two transfers for 2,500 USD each, both from Schwab to Kasikorn;

    1. Wise.com. Expected fees of $24 and turnaround time of 1 day.

    2. Schwab International USD wire. Estimated turnaround time of 1 week. $15 fee on Schwab side.

Anyone know Kasikorn's fee for receiving, and if there are middle banks in the mix? They have to charge $9 or less, or give better currency conversion rates, to win this little test. Otherwise they lose on turnaround time.

What will you be paying for this...as I know someone honest and reliable

I ask that the maid quote me for service. If she's interested please me know her price and contact info by PM, thanks. I'm looking for regular service, maybe bi-monthly.

  9. I bought a power supply at JIB and they went to work tightening up all the mistakes of my self build. Very professional assemblers.

Has anyone used them for assembly only (bring your own parts)? What do they charge?

If that's not an option it appears buying a single part may put them into assembly mode if you bring the rest.

  10. Here they are according to Shopee: wRItHC9.png

Can anyone advise me on a close one to Soi Buakao? If not I will just go to Big C South tomorrow.

Google is failing me which is why I ask. All the Kerry drop off points appear to be unrelated businesses.

If anyone knows I'm also curious whether they do the external packaging for you or not. I'm returning a Ryzen 5 (in original box).
