Standard price in Pattaya is 300/day, I see 200/day for a small bike is the norm in Patong. Just a Covid discount or always like that? If so, anyone know why?

I think I may just cancel Phi Phi then. $8 reservation down the drain (I half joke).
Is there a better island option then? Or do they all leave early day?
-
I arrive in Phuket (HKT) around 3pm, this Friday. Are there any active ferries to Phi Phi after that time?
This page suggests there is not. In that case what other options do I have? http://www.phiphi.phuket.com/schedule.htm
I come back the next day but that schedule is not as strict since I will then stay in Phuket for a few days.

I am going to try getting to Ban Phe (Koh Samet pier link) via Rayong's bus terminal. Is it easy enough to tell them "Ban Phe" or can it be harder at these less touristed bus terminals?

Do you guys know if e-scooters may be taken on busses or not?
I suspect they may be treated as cargo/luggage. Or does the battery prevent that?

I've been in Pattaya 6 years and don't remember the last time I went to Bangkok for something other than to fly somewhere.
I'm considering moving to Phuket. I think the rarity of me flying places means, there is no downside to having Bangkok outside of driving distance.
Or do you Phuket locals disagree? I'm happy to hear considerations I'm not thinking about, thanks!

Are there any health(ier) restaurants that serve healthy pizzas? Some combination of lower oil, wheat bread, reduced fat cheese.
I'm on Soi Buakao but expect to travel a bit to find a healthy pizza option.

Starting in Pattaya where I live I want to get to a nice island. On my list are Koh Mak (closes), Lipe, Phi Phi, maybe Samui. I am here on Volunteer Visa and do not have a vaccination.
I suppose I need to fill a TM-30 for staying 1-2 nights in another province. Is there anything else to be aware of? I may opt to take a shuttle van but will probably fly nearby to whichever Island I choose.

I wonder what it's like living on an island that small. Of course the main land is not far away so maybe not that bad. In some sense it might be kind of cool to live on an island for so long. In another, the lack of diversity and options must get to long stayers. Anyone have stories to tell about a long stay on an island?

Anyone in Jomtien able to comment about Foodmart? They have a bakery section with a lot of unique items.
-
Friendship now closes at 10pm. Foodland Royal Garden is gone.
is FoodMart in Jomtien still 24 hour? Or have they also reduced hours?
What other full grocery stores are open past 11pm?

So many beautiful oil painting shops but I am not comfortable hanging weighted objects on my walls. Can anyone recommend a nice shop for posters? Themes I like include: scenery, temples, buddha, and general beauty.

Or even most of the time? Bryan Flowers mentioned this in his video today. He said the police often ask for a bigger bribe knowing most foreigners don't like the jail stay and threat of deportation.

Two deposits appeared in my Kasikorn account today:
76,150 thb
76,151 thb
This means wise.com has won. The wire cost 461 thb on the Schwab side.
This was the best possible result as it means if wise.com ever stops service, swift wires are also only 1 day turnaround and only $15 more expensive. The currency exchange rate appears only slightly worse than wise.com (since wise also deducted a fee which is visible in their final amount here, wheras the schwab wire fee is not).

^ If what you say is true why are there so many cheats here in Pattaya?
I'm on volunteer visa at the moment. EDs in the past. I may buy an Elite in 5 years but would rather invest that money

Good info, I'll try to report back on this.
Wise: 30.7550.
Kasikorn as a receiver: we'll see.
-
I just did two transfers for 2,500 USD each, both from Schwab to Kasikorn;
1. Wise.com. Expected fees of $24 and turnaround time of 1 day.
2. Schwab International USD wire. Estimated turnaround time of 1 week. $15 fee on Schwab side.
Anyone know Kasikorn's fee for receiving, and if there are middle banks in the mix? They have to charge $9 or less, or give better currency conversion rates, to win this little test. Otherwise they lose on turnaround time.

I think its brilliant personally. Assuming no downsides like a bad stamp. Uses the inefficiency of Thailand to your favor. But by all means if you would prefer to complain from the perpetual holy victim stance ????

Basically you have a friend sue you, drag out the case and drop it 2.5 to 3 years later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SBV3xVu8M0
Let's assume you are sure the friend won't suddenly turn on you, and is reliable to drop the suit.
Is there any other downside? A bad stamp in the visa perhaps, even if the suit is dropped?

Bi-monthly usually means twice per month. I've heard it can also mean every 2 months but there are more things that use the twice/month definition (paychecks, home services etc)

I ask that the maid quote me for service. If she's interested please me know her price and contact info by PM, thanks. I'm looking for regular service, maybe bi-monthly.

Hi, I'm on South Soi Buakao. Does anyone know a good maid who is available to clean between 6pm to 8pm? I am flexible on the day but the time needs to be in that range.

I bought a power supply at JIB and they went to work tightening up all the mistakes of my self build. Very professional assemblers.
Has anyone used them for assembly only (bring your own parts)? What do they charge?
If that's not an option it appears buying a single part may put them into assembly mode if you bring the rest.

Here they are according to Shopee:
Can anyone advise me on a close one to Soi Buakao? If not I will just go to Big C South tomorrow.
Google is failing me which is why I ask. All the Kerry drop off points appear to be unrelated businesses.
If anyone knows I'm also curious whether they do the external packaging for you or not. I'm returning a Ryzen 5 (in original box).
Why are motorbike rentals cheap in Patong?
