Nothing to do with any banking legislation. At the same time as issuing the letter debanking you, they made anouncements of more branch closures and staff redundancies. They just want to do away with the cost of physical banks and staff handling customers and everone to use cards and QR codes which they then skim of a % of everything you spend.

Most people would understand that to mean you do not have to be particularly intelegent to work out what to do to resolve your problem. Go and get a replacement licence.

You can drive on a Thai licence supported by IDP it only costs 500thb but you have to go to the LTA in Chonburi with your licence, two photos and your passport. It is valid for two years. If you dont get the IDP and have an accident, it can invalidate the insurance. BS detector working here A Thai plastic photo licence is only valid for 5 years and is almost indistructable, so how can it be "a bit old and faded".?

You have to go to the LTA as they take a digital photo of you to print on the license. If you can find an agent who looks like the picture in your passport, you may get away with it.

Allways been a requirement in Chonburi. Only exception is they will accept a letter from the bank issued previous day if you go first thing in the morning. You also need to make a tranaction just befor the letter is issued (withdraw or add some cash) to confirm the balance shown in the book is current.

The MIR card is issued by the Central Bank of Russia. Some people get their salaries paid directly onto the card. There are many more alternatives in the world to the American based Mastercard and Visa.

Anyone know of a good refrigerator engineer. I have what was an expensive Samsung wine cooler. The Samsung service engineers replaced the MPCB and compressor but now say the problem is with the thermostats, which are no longer available. I cannot belive that the thermostats are unique to this particular model (more likely, they do not know what they are doing and make up an excuse to get out the door). I am hoping that someone who understands how these things work may be able to fix it. Thanks Oink

I tried to get some years ago from the fabric shop on 2nd Road. Confused the heck out of me as they kept showing me reels of cotton. Be aware the English word dye, in Thai sounds like Fie (Fay) which means cotton. So good luck with the blue dye!! ????
