Only way is up on all costs in LoS and I'm sure the lowest hoop retirement non-O 800k show money will end soon enough for new entrants...the rest maybe grandfathered in to on-going extensions....speculation yes, but I'm sure the 800k retirement visa system will get swamped by new large number applicants from India/China or similar at some point in near future to bursting point....pivot to well-heeled show money requirements like the newer visas that are not so popular.

Can a UK motorbike IDP be used for a fresh 90 days if doing an out-in visa run after being in Thailand for 90 days previous to that ? I thought that the IDP was good for 90 days before you had to get a license or license update...am not sure situation is if you came back in from a border run and use it again as its valid for 2 years I believe. Would that be 90 days in a calendar year only allowes or good on re-entry again ? Seems residency certs are hard to come by now on tourista visas in Chiang Mai to renew licenses and maybe all over now to re-new a Thai license ? I have no plans to go on non-O visa routes in coming year - which would help get license re-newed. I just don't want to be stuck with no medical cover issued from outside Thailand. Am looking at it from both medical cover and traffic stop side of things.

I just kept a colour laminated copy and a separate copy of last extension or entry stamp under seat on motorbike anyway just in case.

I think a Thai visiting the UK as a tourist gets allowed ER treatment for free...is that right ? No reciprocal arrangement like the EU has (and used to have ?) with the UK. I think this new arrival fee is supposed to pay for these not covered by insurance events...see how that plays out in reality after most of it gets siphoned off for this and that.
