Is this required for Children or Adults?

This is based on 2019 pre covid. It is possible with the influx of more foreigners from different countries, the number now is far above the 300000.
Or maybe you are only considering those who are western. But nonetheless, the extra influx of people still contribute to the country and its GDP. Which is what Mike Lister mentioned in one of his posts, regarding GDP.
But even so, even back in 2019, I would have thought the number to be higher.
Quite surprising.

It's just the latest of a series of estimates that have been quoted lately but very much on the high end.
I did reply just now, but my post has vanished. Maybe a senior moment on my part😀

Thailand is an export led eco0nomy, over 60% of GDP is derived from the export of goods and services and totals over USD 320 bill per year. The 300,000 or so Westerners living in Thailand account for less than USD 10 bill per year.
I would be interested to know where you get the figures of 300,000 westerners residing in Thailand.

I looked at this site last year when I renewed my UK passport. There were several criticisms of VFS in CM then, so I went to Thai Visa Assist in Changmailand. Smooth, efficient service there.
I read those criticisms as well. But I focused on the positive reviews. There are always two sides to reviews.
And anyway, that was last year.
I posted this to let people know that the service was excellent.

@Isan FarangJust a couple of tips that you may or not be aware of:
1. Make sure that the document you provide with proof of address shows exactly the same address as your home address in Thailand.
2. If you are using a Thai debit/ credit card to pay, make sure that it is authorised by the bank for overseas payments. Payments are debited in UK.
My neighbour had his payment declined by the bank and was informed by VFS. Fortunately he visited VFS to resubmit payment, after speaking with the bank to authorise payment, and all was well in the end.

Last year I had to wait 13 weeks...
Understood. I was extremely surprised to get the phone call after 9 days of submission. I had been told it would take 3/4 weeks.

Just to inform anyone needing to renew their passports through VFS Chiang Mai.
I submitted my passport application on 16th January and it arrived back today 25th.
Excellent service at application point and amazingly quick return.
Staff were very friendly, professional and helpful.

Interesting that they would do that, presumably its a ploy to attract funds, the question is, who underwrites that policy? We know in the case of the other banks and the deposit protection scheme that all members pay a premium to the insurer which is underwritten by BOT. But who insures GSB funds, what's their policy on payout and who underwrites it?
The purpose of my post was to inform others reading your statement and link,
that this bank has different policies.
I do not really wish to get into the questions you now pose above.

But not in the case of the GSB. They have railed against this and provide 100% limitless protection.

A long time ago I read about this problem, but I lost the text due to a disk crash. Someone mentioned the name of the form to fill out at the bank. It was not power of attorney. The problem is the account has to be in a single name, but how can a partner get the money from the account? I remember there was a English and a Thai term for it...
Thanks for any hint in the right direction.
Pm sent to you.

Is charging in the minimum region of 51% up to 100% in my bookings I'm just curious how many other people are doing that booking.com has no problem they have 18% flat rate but every time I get a booking with a agoda.com they are charging 50-to 100 % commission to the owner
How can they charge the owner 100% commission?
That means the hotel gets nothing.

That was my bad, she was referring to the frame I picked up and showed her. I need what is called a progressive lens which has basically 3 different strengths. I don't think these lenses are made in Thailand, the best ones are made in the USA and Ireland. Cambodia has a poor health system,
Progressive lenses are available in Thailand. My wife had them made through Diamond Eyes. See my earlier post.
Or did you miss it because you weren't wearing your specs?🤣🤣

You mean the Samsung on the north side of the moat? I didn't know they did electrical appliance repairs there, I thought it was just Electronics.
Yep. I rang Samsung care centre in bkk. And they told me to take it there. Good luck.

I've never tried to have electrical items repaired in Thailand, so no idea if it's practical or where to go.
I have a Samsung convection microwave oven which is less than 10 years old and not too much use. When you turn it on, it runs like it's working but there is no heating produced. So I'm guessing that there's just a single part that's dead.
I took mine to Samsung on the moat and they repaired it in 15 minutes. Cost 54 baht!!

Understand the principle. But it is really robbing Peter to pay Paul. And is probably a head line to try and impress the world. So it really is disinformation.

Wise Transfers- Caution - Fees

Some of you may be aware of the information in my post and some of you may already know.
This is for the the unaware.
I made a transfer yesterday of GBP to Thai baht. On the opening page, I noticed that the fees were almost 60% higher than normal.
My previous transfers always defaulted on the opening page, to transfer from bank.
Yesterday I looked to the right and it stated " Fast and easy transfer", with a drop down box. This allowed me to change to bank transfer and the fees changed to a lower figure.
I hope this helps some of you.
Regards.
