This will go the typical way:
Benz driver fined 5000 baht for drinking and driving. No other charges made because the video shows he's not at fault. Social media erupts saying he got away with it because he's rich.

I always wonder about these stories. I've spent about 10 years total time in Thailand (not consecutively) and I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've felt unwelcome. Thailand is one of the warmest, most welcoming places in the world.

Does anyone have experience in what happens in the following situations:
- You have a dashcam which clearly shows the other party is at fault but the other guy has painted over his numberplate so it's not-visible in the footage. Can you still claim it as being the other party's fault without being able to identify them?
- You have a dash cam which clearly shows the other party is at fault but they flee the scene and you have their number plate? I've been previously told that I need to identify the person who caused the accident and the car license plate is not enough to make a not-at-fault claim.
Or do you need to chase them down if you don't want an at-fault claim?

Right, so you're from the crowd that acts recklessly and expects others to foot the bill. Grow up and learn some responsibility. This ain't the UK where the government protects you from your own stupidity, if you can't take responsibility for yourself then stay at home.

Combined with most uneducated..... they could have picked up the Virus at the airport, how can anyone protect themselves from that ?
Possible but highly unlikely that he'd test positive so soon.

Congratulations Kirovs. You're the reason we have these rules, because you can't be trusted to protect yourself from the virus before traveling.
Enjoy your 350,000 baht bill.

Scared no, aware yes.
The virus probably won't kill me but it can kill more vulnerable people so I take any reasonable steps to avoid contracting/spreading it, but I don't consider putting my life on hold like the Victorian government wanted me to do reasonable (I was living in Melbourne when this all started) so I left and came to Thailand.

I merely pointed out that those vaccinated people who DO catch COVID (and some do, right?) are just as infectious (the dirty spreaders) as the unvaccinated. So how have I twisted the narrative to conform to some pre-existing belief, as you put it?
The study: breakthrough cases of vaccinated people who were infected in household settings by people with high enough viral loads to be symptomatic are just as infectious as unvaccinated people.
Your interpretation: vaccinated people who DO catch COVID (and some do, right?) are just as infectious (the dirty spreaders) as the unvaccinated
See the difference? The study looks at a specific subset of vaccinated, infected people, you then incorrectly apply it to vaccinated people as a whole.

Respectfully, hasn't this subject been beaten to death? There are two camps: Those who accept the science and those who don't. You are not likely to change minds using science/facts. Just sayin'.
The problem is people like the below, who take the science and interpret it in their own way to conform to their pre-existing beliefs.

Try to keep up. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(21)00648-4/fulltext
This study shows that breakthrough cases of vaccinated people who were infected in household settings by people with high enough viral loads to be symptomatic are just as likely to spread the Delta variant as the general unvaccinated population.
Vaccinated people are less likely to get infected in the first place and they're less likely to be exposed to high viral load cases than unvaccinated people, so overall they are less likely to spread the disease.
The study is useful to show that symptomatic vaccinated cases should be subject to isolation just like unvaccinated cases except with a shorter length due to faster viral clearance. It does not show that vaccinated people are just as likely to spread the disease.

Assuming you're on a regular residential lease operated by a leasing business (defined as anyone that leases more than 5 residential properties):
Insurance doesn't matter to you as a tenant for the purposes of damages to the condo. If you cause the damage through intent or negligence including omission of a reasonable duty, then you're liable for the damages whether the owner has insurance or not. Insurance here is to just protect the owner from you defaulting.
If it's due to a fault of the property itself then the owner is responsible including damages to your properties. That's where insurance might matter to you.

We got a Fortuner for the dog, it's great. We put the dog bed on the 3rd row of seats then fold the 2nd row forward and it creates a nice space for the dog. We can put her in through any rear door in the car and she'll go straight to her spot.

does it waft mosquito repellant out of the air vents then?
The shape of the airflow around the car doesn't allow mosquitos to enter the cabin at speeds of 40km/h or more. At lower speeds the roof can be closed in under 20 seconds.

Whatever you do, don't wirelessly overload their speakers because that would be illegal, even though it would look like normal equipment failure that they'd never trace to you.
Just so you recognise what it is so you can avoid doing it, here's a guide:

I can only judge him by his arguments. Not by unproveable comments about his personal status. When someone writes obfuscatory stuff like this
"Nobody knows one way or the other. "The science" has been "changing" non-stop since the pandemic began. Its been almost 2 straight years of speculative reporting and scientific studies, so no point in speculating any further. "
it's quite clear where they stand.
How can something be obfuscatory and quite clear at the same time?
Nothing about his comment is anti-vax, he's just claiming that we don't know how many more doses will be needed for long-term immunity which is true.

You made the claim that he's an anti-vaxxer. You have the burden of proof.
You've provided no evidence to support your claims and yet you continue your attack against him by demanding he prove you wrong. He has no obligation to. You made a baseless comment against him, if you have any sense of decency you would withdraw it instead of continuing this pointless argument.

They're not going anywhere.
As long as there are poor girls who need the money, the gogo bar scene will always exist. Thaksin did more to end the gogo bar scene than Prayut by improving socioeconomic conditions in the north and the northeast. All Prayut will accomplish is making it more discrete.

Cool, thanks for sharing your knowledge about the process. For the 90 day reports being done by a staff office in Bangkok, instead of having to do them yourself, do you still have to communicate with the staff office every 90 days to confirm that your residence hasn't changed? (And I assume that legally, you're still supposed to also get TM30 forms filed for "registration of alien resident" every time you stay overnight anywhere, although pragmatically this seems unenforceable?) Or is the arrangement with the staff office more hands-off, like you don't have to communicate with them or be involved in the 90 day reporting process at all unless you're notifying them that you've changed residences (e.g. you're now on vacation in Phuket, or you're now out of the country, or you sold your condo and moved to a new condo - otherwise, you never have to communicate with them and the reporting process just happens automatically from your perspective)?
It's very hands-on. You need to send the passport to them and there's a fee if you're not based on Bangkok. Personally I find doing it myself easier.

When you pay 1,900 to extend an elite visa each year, is it an unlimited multi-entry extension (e.g. I'm free to go back to the U.S. and come back into Thailand every month if I want, theoretically)? Because I think for the marriage visa extension to be multi-entry, it's 3,800 or 5,000 baht or something like that and maybe it's not unlimited exits and entries?
With the elite visa being 1 year, extended every year, what are you actually purchasing when you buy the 20 year package? Are you purchasing a guarantee that they will grant 19 annual extensions without having to pay any additional fees aside from the 1,900 baht?
Sorry I meant 1 year stay permissible. The visa itself is 5 years, but only allows for 1 year stay at a time. This 1 year stay can be extended unconditionally up until the visa expires for the 1900 baht each time. If you leave the country, the 1 year starts counting again so you only need to pay the 1900 baht if you stay continuously for 1 year. You need to get a new visa stamp after 5 years. I'm not sure if you need to leave the country for that but I doubt it (I'm only on the 5 year program).

Love this road but it's true you should be aware of the local wildlife. I was going around a bend at one point and this buffalo came around on the wrong side of the road at about 80km/h driving a pickup truck. Thankfully I was taking it slow enjoying the sights but if I was cruising any faster I would've hit the thing.

Pay it now. If you don't pay it on time you will lose the right to pay it in the future and you'll have to go on with life knowing that you didn't pay a fine.
