Mai Sai at the Burmese duty free had cans the last time I was there you wont find it here something to do with the widget from memory ????

I am in Chiang Rai at present and have been to Mai Sai many times, never had any reason to head over to Burma. The dark beer Lao is a decent drop, but now very costly if you have to pay the tax

I've been drinking the black stuff be it in bottles, cans and on draught for almost 50 years all around the world that is inc Thailand and a couple of months ago back home I had a meal in my daughters house and after dinner I was offered a can of Guinness. Nah I said I would be driving and the grippers will surely nab me. No she argued it was 0% alcohol. It took some persuading as I am a Guinness purest but I tried it and I concede it was almost as good as the real thing.

I am interested whare you purchased bottled guinness in Thailand, i have only ever seen cans, i checked with wish beer and they told me bottled is not available in Thailand

When I choose to drink Guinness, it's because I like the taste and the texture of the drink -- not because I'm trying to get blitzed...

I'd buy a 0% Guinness if it were available here.

PS - I was in Hua Hin earlier this year at a pub that sometimes sells Guinness on tap...  I asked the staff why their Guinness stocking was inconsistent, and my waitress replied that at their price of nearly 300b per pint, punters were choosing other options.

It was previously available at the airport bar at 500 Baht a pint, they have the guinness tap on the counter but the last couple of times i asked was informed no have.

    220V +- 10% (which is sort of guaranteed) is 198V to 242V.

In reality, even your non-inverter A/C should be fine down to 185V (-16%).

Small AVR (automatic voltage regulator) are readily available which will magic 220V out of 150V, cover just one or two items or your whole house. Pretty well every A/C in Delhi has an AVR next to the indoor unit, power there can be somewhat "variable".

I know very little regarding electric stuff, at my location in Chiang Rai the supply appears to be all over the shop, my normal floor fan will run fine and then the speed will drop by half and after some time return to normal.

Just checking if its possible to fit a AVR on the main switch box to get a more even supply, my main concern is to the AC type invertor, that i i am sure is not getting a constant supply of required power.

In my main house in Ubon i have 3 phase and its either full whack or power off, never have any fluctuations.

Being retired from UK  Government Service, I used to sign for fellow Brits and none was ever declined. However, a month ago when mine arrived at our new address, I noticed some significant changes from previous forms and having  only lived in this isolated area for 18 months, I didn't know who ask. So off to my ttb bank where they instantly refused point blank even though I've had the account for 20 years.

Right out of the blue, my missus suggested driving 65km to Roi Et Immigration where they willingly obliged, naturally, for a small donation. The Officer concerned was a Lieutenant Colonel no less so it should be OK.

I have information they are tightening up on these forms so signing your own may cause future problems.

18 months ago a 74 year old friend of mine received his first as he had never told them he was here. Wrong advice from the wrong person who said they would never find out -- until they stopped his pension. The guy is now back in Blighty living in a Salvation Army Hostel or similar trying to pay back 7 years of over payments.

Aye you can spin a fair tale or three

That looks like a good price and configuration. I had this Asus before the Acer and really liked it, but it had a motherboard issue (which had to be replaced) and later it had a charging issue (the connection). Great display and keyboard.  I bought it in January of 2018 while I visiting the US and it was $799. Be advised, unless something had changed, Asus would not honor the warranty on my motherboard, which blew.

Be advised, if you're friend sends something to you and you try to avoid the VAT and duty you may end up paying significantly more, and shipping will cost more than if you ship it direct.

He has sent me lots of items and they are marked returned after repair, regarding tax if he  purchased the item in the US would he still have to pay the $130 tax ?

If sent direct to my thai address the want the following

    Order Summary

    Items: $1,549.99
    Shipping & handling: $38.65

    Total before tax: $1,588.64
Estimated tax to be collected: $0.00
    Import Fees Deposit: $279.70

    Order total: $1,868.34

The receipt and tax invoice on the app have no details for how the bill was paid, the only information on them is the name from the blue house book. With internet payment the receipt was with the next months bill printed by  the man reading the meter. The top half was the current months bill and the bottom half was the receipt for the previous month's payment, however, no information on who paid the bill. Generally banks etc. will not accept anything printed from the internet as proof of address anyway.

I pay 3 houses by DD, two in Ubon and one in Chiang Rai. Previously i received a receipt in my name for all, a while back no receipt was sent for Ubon and when i asked at the electric office was told they stopped sending these. In Chiang Rai i still receive so i guess different rules for different locations. You may want to go to the main office and ask.

Since June of 2020 a new TM30 report is not required when enter the country with a re-entry. I would only be needed if you enter with a new visa. Also not needed if you travel within the country.

A yellow house book does not exempt you doing a TM30 report.

    How does this one work

I live at 2 locations and i have yellow book for Ubon and all my 1 year extentions are done there, if my 90 day report is due when i am in Chiang Rai can i go there and do  my 90 day report, or has it got to be done in Ubon ?

Forget about online i am checking on going to the office in person.

But I can't open my wallet on my laptop

Had this issue recently, if you pay by COD the funds will be returned to your wallet. It is not possible to use the wallet on desk top or notebook, as per the call from Lazada they told me i need a smart phone to use this service

I stopped using COD and now use my Debit Card, i made a return last week and after the refund was approved, the funds were back in my account 2 days later

If you use a Credit Card it may take longer
