One of the sections on marriage requires a marriage certificate, that's if you select send original documents box.
Along with birth certificate etc, which I have original.
I was married in Don Mueang District, Bangkok, on 16 March 2007 and have the Thai language certificates. So do I need to have them translated into English, or just post off them as they are.
Anyone have up to date info on this?
I found the form not exactly easy as not very experienced in PDF/Acrobat reader stuff.
THX
Forget about the forms, i just recently done everything by phone. After you give your NI # and all is clear with your file, they will ask various questions. I never had to send any document's to there office. Also have your bank info handy. Its very easy and i had no issues receiving the payment.

I just started to receive my government pension from the UK. When i went to BB last week i asked for the Credit Advice to observe what was sent in GBP, the staff told me they do not receive the funds direct as Citibank BKK are the ones who transfer the funds to my BB account, so it is Citi who do the conversion and then transfer in Baht to BB.
I have no account with Citi so i assume its not possible to view what was sent from the UK

Signed copies of the owners house book and ID card are a standard requirement. Having a yellow house book will not change that.
In Ubon my wife has never been with me to obtain or renew my retirement visa, i have only given them a signed copy of my yellow book. On one visit they asked if i was married and i called my wife and let her talk with the IO, she told me they asked who owned the house and required her tel number to keep on file

Maybe. It really wants a 13-digit Thai ID number (no letters). But possibly any 13 digits would work.
I entered the 13 digit number from my pink id card, and this was accepted. No further info was required.

I am interested in any replies you receive as I use the same bank as you .
There is no information on the exchange rate used . OK , i can check the pension amount sent and divide by the amount received to see what the exchange rate was used . But i do feel the bank should be informing you .
This is my first payment, so i am just finding my way around how it works.

On October 2021 i applied to receive my UK state pension that would take effect from Nov 2021, i used my Thai Bangkok Bank account # to receive the payments.
Today i received a payment and the ref was Baht Net, can someone confirm if this is the code used, also is there a way of checking what amount was sent in GBP prior to being converted to Baht

I agree a plastic barrier or a 6 inch trench should be dug to move the soil off our wall. I will offer some sort of monetary incentive, but the neighbor's house is much bigger and expensive than mine.
If you wish to call it your wall you may need to build a new wall in your land against the existing wall, some house beside me had a similar issue and the office told them the dividing wall was owned by both land owners.

OK, block off the PVC pipe, and just let water run off via your driveway. If there is any further complaints, just point out its an act of God, or in their case Buddha. Really, as someone else has pointed out, they want you to surface the complete road in gravel, as you have at your front drive.
After some thought i am going to do as you mentioned, block off the PVC outlet as they requested and divert the water to the front gate whare it can run into the gravel in a more discreat fashion.
I will also get my wife to go to the Or Bor Tor office and just get some info on what the rules are supposed to be. This ain't my first Rodeo in Thailand playing games with these clowns.

Without surveying the area recommending a culvert under the road is pointless. You still have to dig the ditch, and if there's not grade, the culvert is just going to fill up as well.
Once the OP gets to the property, he (or someone) can easily use a water-level or laser to figure out the grade of the property and road. If there is standing water on the road, it's a good bet it has no place to drain to on the opposite side, correct?
That is correct the land opposite me is level with the dirt road and has been unused for many years. If i blocked the PVC outlet then the water would have to go out the bottom of the gate, as its impossible to hold the rain water inside our land. I guess i need to wait and check what the office thinks when i visit them next week.

No issues here. Are you using a VPN? Maybe you were assigned a "Bad IP" and if so, resetting your internet modem might fix it.
No i do not use a VPN, regarding the modem reset is this just a off/on job

I have recently completed a new house in Chiang Rai, the land is around 30cm above the height of the dirt road. This particular public road is only soil and some stone chips similar to a farm road and has also various pot holes. To remove excess water from the land we cut 2 holes in the front wall and inserted PVC pipe so when it rains water will exit on to this road, please note no drainage system has ever existed.
At present we are not in CR and just got a call from the Poo Yai Ban's helper that people who are using that road have complained regarding the water leaving my land as they have to drive through this water when it rains, perhaps around 4in or slightly deeper in the pot holes. He told my wife we need to blank the pvc so no water can exit
When we get back next week we will go to the Or Bor Tor office and talk with staff and check what they advise. Just checking if any of you guys have been faced with the same issue ?

We should have a payment today into PP usually around 5pm Thai time, from USA we have also had recently with no problems then transfer to a Thai bank
Are you sending the funds in USD or Baht to your Thai PP account from the USA ?, as if sent in USD PP will convert to Baht at a very poor rate and then transfer to your Thai bank account.

I was told the same thing, in effect...any accounts that will be affected will receive appropriate notifications.
I made another call today to PP and got a different person from yesterday, the filipino guy i talked with spoke crystal clear English. I told him on the PP website it states no more personal accounts or restricted personal accounts after Feb 18 2022, he told me to wait till he checked my account. I was then informed for the second time on my personal account everthing will be the same as before after i complete the 2 step verification, i was also informed the mail will be sent out around Jan 2022 The only problem will be if i do not let them have the info by Feb 18 2022.
I think they already have went through their Thai based clients and its some in and some out.

It's possible they maybe giving the personal accounts a chance at upgrading to business accounts by doing the verification?
Did she give you the details of the verification process?
I told her i do not want or need a buisness account and it was clear that we were talking about a personal account. She told me i will receive a mail and it will explain how to process the two step verification. As you will know performing any task in Thailand is never simple with different versions.
The verification for a business account is a lot more complex for someone going that route

OK, after a looooong phone conversation (half an hour) with PayPal Thailand this is what I got out of it!!
1. If you have a personal PayPal account you will not be able to use it to receive or hold money (starting next year as published).
2. If you have a business PayPal account you will need to go through a re-verification process. You will need to supply:
a. photo ID
b. proof of business address
c. official business license /registration
If the business is registered in your spouse's name and the PayPal in yours or vice versa you can apply for a "contact name" change on the account. The names must match but according to the person I spoke with PayPal will be accommodating on this and not make you register for a new account.
(This is my viewpoint - while going through the re-verification process, best not to have much money in the account because it might be tricky to get it out if you fail the re-verification. I posed that question and she couldn't answer!)
That was the gist of our conversation and pretty much all the info. she had.
I also called PP this morning and the lady i talked with told me a different version. I told her i required information on what was going on in Thailand regarding this new system. I informed her i have a personal account and she asked some info so she could check my account. I then told her i need to know if my account will be restricted after 18th Feb, her answer was if i do not complete the two step verification before the cut off date what funds i have will be sent to my BB account and i need to start the whole process from scratch. If my verification is accepted my account will opperate same as before. Now we have two different versions by PP so i am not sure which one of us was given the wrong information

Could Xoom provide a possible workaround, but even if it does it seems that one door shuts after another. You really do have to be one step ahead of the game.
Zoom is a service from Pay Pal you can log in with your normal PP account, can you explain how this Zoom can be a possible walkaround ?

Thailand can go F itself. This is another anti money laundering <deleted> that will have no effect on total and complete corruption in this country. I remember 6 years ago how much trouble I had opening a bank account just to deposit 400k for my marriage visa.
However when going through PayPal link, I only see that some type of re-verification will be required for personal accounts?
As per the PP site they quote the following
Yes, there will be some changes. * See details below:
Bank withdrawals-
Only businesses registered in Thailand can withdraw funds from PayPal Thailand accounts and withdrawals must be made to Thai bank accounts in THB. Linked Thai bank accounts must be registered to the same business as the PayPal business account. Withdrawals to U.S. bank accounts will not be available.
PayPal personal accounts will not be able to hold a balance or withdraw funds.

It's quoted in the first post but you can see yourself from this link: https://www.paypal.com/th/webapps/mpp/thailand-relaunch-faq
Note, holders of PayPal personal accounts or business accounts that are not registered business in Thailand will not be able to receive payments or hold a PayPal balance in PayPal Thailand.
Will there be changes to my account after the relaunch of PayPal Thailand?
Yes, there will be some changes. * See details below:

After going to the PP site its bad news unless you register and are accepted under all the new conditions.
I was going to ask if there is any other option with some other company but i am guessing Thailand will have this new rules applied to all these type of services.
I have an account with HSBC Jersey and wondering if i could open a new account with PP and use my daughters address in the UK

I have had a personal PP account here for many years and no one from PP has informed me my account will be closed on Feb 22, do you have a link to the statment from PP ?
After reading this info i will call them on Monday and find out what is going on regarding this closure date.
