  1. They should perhaps start arresting the customers of prostitutes, both Thai and falang to cut down the demand. It's always the girls that get arrested never the sex tourists, adulterers and Thais. It is illegal after all.

Absolute garbage, if there was no prostitution, think of all the rapes that would happen. I have never used prostitutes, but what a person does with their own bodies is entirely their business and no one elses. Just one very important thing, no one must get hurt or forced to do anything they do not want to do.

There are plenty of rapes here and violence against women WITH all the prostitution, but you feel men cannot control themselves so prostitution is justified, even when illegal? Prostitution is not a victimless crime and people do get hurt both emotionally and physically, then there are the serious health risks. Clearly as prostitution is illegal the customers should be arrested as they are breaking the law, then they should be deported if they are foreign, just like other law breakers.

  2. I don't see the point of the above post ....is the poster trying to bash monks for using ATM's and iTech?

There seems to be many TV members posting on topics in the Buddhism forum now who are just trying to bash Buddhism or declare how all religions are wrong and gleefully declare their superior wisdom in being anti this or anti that.

If they are not Buddhist or have no desire to learn about it they should stay out.

Once you get one stupid post in a topic..many seem to follow... like a bunch of thugs diving in to kick someone once they are down...

There are over 200 rules for Thai monks, I am pretty sure one of them is not owning anything except a robe and a begging bowl and one or two other things, they are not meant to handle money or keep gifts of money, but they do

  3. If every pimp, john and hooker was arrested in Thailand, there would be 25 million people in jail.

Well said, most girls here do it to provide for their families as there is no alternative job opportunity. Most have young children abandoned by a thai low life husband who has done a runner with a younger model.

Ah the well worn excuse of the client, you might just as well justify the drug trade in the same way- they need the money!. The truth is most prostitutes are just too lazy and or stupid to do anything else, but that does not make it right either. There are PLENTY of jobs to go around in Thailand, yes selling your body does earn more but girls do NOT have to do it.

If prostitutes are to be arrested then it's only fair to start arresting the customers that perpetuate this filthy trade as well.

  4. What I saw from my sister in law, you don't get anything more worth than 30 Baht for the 30 Baht scheme...

I know a Thai who had a stomach ulcer and all they gave him were useless paracetamol, you can buy the correct pills at 40 baht for 14 days from a pharmacy! You would have to be pretty desperate to want to use the 30 baht scheme.

  5. One of the most popular topics,on TV.Forum.

    Lets slag off Thai driving.

No doubt you are all perfect, drivers.

I think not, particularly the coffin dodger Foreigners, that insist on operating motorized vehicles.

Unfortunately the very high death rates on the roads here along with the almost non existing driving test are topics that should be criticised, over and over until hopefully somebody takes notice. They should start by introducing a realistic driving test on the road and not in a car park, introducing learner licences and make learners use L plates. There should be a written test on road safety along with the on road test that includes parking. Anyone found using a bike with no helmet should be banned for at least a year, anyone driving without a licence or insurance should be banned for a lot longer.

It's no excuse just saying well people get killed on the roads in the west, they do but the rate here is ten times higher.

  6. I have brought in 3 separate shipments of personal belongings over the last 4 years, twice from the UK and once from Australia, ranging in size from 4- 8 tea chest size boxes. The last shipment arrived about a month ago. I used Seven Seas door to door service each time, arrived quickly with no duty to pay each time.

I have used them twice first time was OK the last was a complete nightmare. Did not turn up when should have, wrong quotes, overcharging. When you ring them they are either clueless or just rude. Never again would I use sevenseas, did not respond to emails or faxes, in the end got a refund for the overcharging from credit card When they goods got to Bkk they called me and wanted me to pay gain, even though you have to pay for them to send, no problems in Bangkok though. Put in wives name no checking, no fees and never went to customs.

  7. They paid somebody to get here. I'm sure they would be better off in Turkey the Thais sure don't want or need them. Send them to Turkey or better back so as not to encourage the 'traffiking'

And I suppose you'd send North Korean refugees back to NK, just to teach 'em a lesson and keep more of them from trying to escape?

No they would go to S Korea no reason to go anywhere else, but they are an extreme case. Most of these people are just using 'asylum' to get around the need for a visa, they are economic migrants, not persecuted minorities as they make out

  8. What is Thailand going to do with them? If the U.S is so concerned then send a plane over to pick them up and take to the U.S to live. If they are not prepared to do that then they should keep their noses out of it and let Thailand decide what to do.

These people were trafficked into Thailand & it is often reported that Thais are involved. In another report it was mentioned that the traffickers (in collaboration with corrupt Thais?) were demanding an additional US$20k for each person to have their doco returned so they could be moved into Malaysia.

Thailand has constantly committed to reducing human trafficking, but appears to have little success. It is Thailands' ownership to work with relevant international organisations. This is a good opportunity to demonstrate Thai understanding of human rights issues & not be downgraded to Tier Three watchlist in a few months time.

Turkey has already stated that if proven to be Uighurs they will accept them.

You use the term trafficked to imply they were forced in some way and that it's not their fault they are here. They paid somebody to get here. I'm sure they would be better off in Turkey the Thais sure don't want or need them. Send them to Turkey or better back so as not to encourage the 'traffiking'

  9. " an international music event called MTV Exit Live...unrelated to a US-based music corporation with the same name..."

Using a copyrighted name tried to add legitimacy to an otherwise illegitimate endeavor. It's similar to the Thai company named "Grammy", which is unrelated to the awards given by the US National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Apple used a name copywrited by the Beatles, so what, not just a Thai thing is it, does not make such an endeavour 'iilegitimalte'
