The Thai were out early this morning cleaning and

patching the beach walkway.

The sky opened up last night with a flood of tears.

Those trees are growing fast.  They do trim them from time time.

Many complaints here about the lack of shade.  You complainers

still of the same mine set?

I think everything is just fine....except all maintenance seems to be lacking.

South end of walkway is filled with tents. Maybe they finished all that concrete work just in time ?

I dont like that narrow walkway with that number of people. Too many pick pockets, and sick people !

Just to clarify where it took place. Almost directly accross from Soi 6 on 2nd rd there is a Soi 4. Not the Soi 4 from Beach Rd.

I think that bank on corner is Bangkok Bank.

That speed bump is worthless, you can quote me on that. I went over this morning in a speeding songtaw(50KPH) and it was a smooth ride. I think maybe 80KPH before its uncomforable.

About Noon 24th.

All I can say is the police loaded up two moto taxi drivers with red jackets on. They were located accross from Soi Six(whatever soi number that is) on 2nd rd.

The modification shown in second pic is at least 2 1/2 songtaw long with a gradual ramp. This will allow for much higher speed. I will do a test run someday to find out how much this slows me down.

Well I have never seen anyone get stopped for speeding on Beach Road. No one has come forward with any idea of the speed limit. Many times I have seen vehicles going over 100 KPH. So how fast can you go in the early morning hours over that bump ?

A properly designed speed hump is negligible when crossing at 30 mph, but vicious if speeding.

What is the speed limit on Beach Road ?

Yesterday modification of the bump in front of the police station, Soi 9, was started.

Monument in front of Mikes Shopping has walkway/wheel chair access half complete.

At the South end of Beach Rd. Still under construction. Quality takes time I suppose.

Mabe she was trying to distract you while taking your money.

Or she might really have needed help with her card that she stole. She ask for help, you take card put in machine, she gives you pin number, machine gives money, you give her the money. There it is, you are on the ATM video and she is standing out of range.

Or she could have been someone in need of real help.

I had almost simular experience 2 times. Baht bus stops to let off Thai passenger. I got on without driver permission. Driver drives wreckless. I get off and complain and drive says <deleted> and also middle finger.

Baht bus stops to let off Thai passenger. I got on without driver permission. Driver drives wreckless. I ring bell while bus is stopped to insure driver will not move. He then starts up fast and almost throws me out the back. I fell flat inside the bus, I could have fallen hard outside the bus. Then he gets out and starts yelling and threating, I paid and left.

I take it when you get on without permission they may get pissed if they intended not to pick you up in first place.

Did he get out of the songthaew and attack you? Were there witnesses? What did you say or do to him?

Without the full story it's impossible to really judge.

My worst incident years ago and I was behaving myself. Was taking a gal back to hotel from a beer bar on Beach Rd. Boarded baht bus without saying a word. Did nothing improper during the ride. Driver made two turns and I rang bell in front of Diana Inn. Got out and gave driver B20. He threw it back at me and wanted B60. I said no the fare was 20 and he threw it back the second time. I guess the fare should be 20.

I took a step back to look at his truck number. He then got out and ran around the back of truck while I still stood at the passenger door. He then tried to hit me on the face with his fist two times. I blocked both. He then got back in baht bus without payment and left.

The gal stood back and said nothing. I had two bruises from the blows. But this is not my only rodeo.
