  1. I always think out of the box so tell me why you cant do this; go into the laundry business. Undercut her business so that the customers go to you instead of your neighbor. Use a mild soap you can live with but dont try to make money. Your going to out last your neighbor.

Then after your neighbor goes out of business be creative. Maybe go into business with her and all you control is the soap etc.

I suppose you could do that if you had a Thai partner who wanted to spend all day washing laundry, but for a retired couple both on retirement visas, that suggestion would not be a good idea.

How about a laundry Thai lady comming and just doing laundry out of your front. This is not forever. Its just to run your neighbor out of business.

  3. "The Pattaya landfill, he said, would need over 360,000 cubic metres of sand and would take over eight months to complete. Barriers in the sea would have to be constructed 15 metres high to create a buffer zone and protect the 100-metre stretch of beach, before the sand to enlarge the beachfront could be introduced. The process would have to be repeated again in about 10 to 14 years to ensure the condition of the beach was maintained."

    Barriers in the sea !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The waters edge will now be a barrier !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Soon after the previous project was completed 2007? with the undulating & meandering walkway thru gardens and shade he city set up hundreds of tents that destroyed the plantings and crowded the walkway.

Plan B. Then they moved the tents into the road during the busy weekend festivals. That created traffic havoc.

Plan C. Cut the large trees and flatten the area so they can lease it to vendors.

I think you have a point about the festivals and the walkway being groomed for these events. We will see soon enough how this walkway works with a mass of people.

  5. My list of more stuff is about 5 years old but I think its still the same.

The best zoo I have been to is just up the road(Shrichi Zoo sp). Take a motorbike and ride around the park like zoo.

The Island off (Shrichi sp) can rent a motobike and explore.

If your a golf nut there are many golf courses.

Burapha Univ has a great book store and library. Lots of English mags and books. You might have to get creative to get a libuary card.

Every province has a Bhudist Temple that has parable displays outside, park like. Its located in obscure location. Take your camera.

There is an ultra lite flying club in the neighborhood.

Learn the songtaw routes and get ready for the dogs to chase your arss.

There are some open air falang beer drinking areas that you can find. Just cruse around different times till you find them.

Burapha Univ offers a Silver Tour Guide Card your gal can earn. TOT for info. You can help with her study and get a library card.

You can find some good local taxi for trips to airport etc. Ask the locals.

Burapha bookstore is great - if you want to brush up on your calculus or sociology.. You won't find the latest best-seller there or even The Bangkok Post.. I think there is a small Aisa books in Laem Tong shopping mall though. Keep in mind that at night there are no song taews and even motorbike-taxis are hard to find so you will need at least a bicycle to get around,

For a day trip it is OK but I think that neighboring SiraCha would be much more livable.

    Agree with all you corrections.

How about that aquarium at the University ? It was already OK and I think they were expanding it when I was there.

    Nice and cool too.

  6. Newest Pattaya attraction waterfalls

Great video and could have been exact time I came by on a songtaw. The walkway was like a dam. Soi 6 and a few other low spots on the walkway allowed the flood waters to drain somewhat.

The walkway was being used by many motobikes. It worked well for them.

They could have put in many storm drains but.....TIT

  7. Yes those pics are a bit much but be thankful that Patters Beach does not include Jomtein Beach as well. Would be 300 pics !

The pics were taken about 3PM from my moto with my left hand. I moved along with traffic speed and shot as fast as the camera would allow. Remember dont text and drive.

Did avoid some shots of falangs etc.

So what do you think of another series of pics from the beach showing the umbrellas and walkway ? For future comparison of the erosion.

  9. Last night rain was a bit much, lots of errosion

The old beach sidewalk had low areas for flood drainage and so beach road drained better than it does now. The new sidewalk has no low areas and acts like a dam. So the flood water on the road is now deeper. The regular drains work the same and can handle small amounts of rain.

This errosion on the beach is normal for Patters. The new sidewalk did not help nor hinder this process.
