Yesterday modification of the bump in front of the police station, Soi 9, was started.

Monument in front of Mikes Shopping has walkway/wheel chair access half complete.

At the South end of Beach Rd. Still under construction. Quality takes time I suppose.

Work in progress, only one side complete.

Mabe she was trying to distract you while taking your money.

Or she might really have needed help with her card that she stole. She ask for help, you take card put in machine, she gives you pin number, machine gives money, you give her the money. There it is, you are on the ATM video and she is standing out of range.

Or she could have been someone in need of real help.

I had almost simular experience 2 times. Baht bus stops to let off Thai passenger. I got on without driver permission. Driver drives wreckless. I get off and complain and drive says <deleted> and also middle finger.

He then starts up fast and almost throws me out the back. I fell flat inside the bus, I could have fallen hard outside the bus. Then he gets out and starts yelling and threating, I paid and left.

I take it when you get on without permission they may get pissed if they intended not to pick you up in first place.

Did he get out of the songthaew and attack you? Were there witnesses? What did you say or do to him?

Without the full story it's impossible to really judge.

My worst incident years ago and I was behaving myself. Was taking a gal back to hotel from a beer bar on Beach Rd. Boarded baht bus without saying a word. Did nothing improper during the ride. Driver made two turns and I rang bell in front of Diana Inn. Got out and gave driver B20. He threw it back at me and wanted B60. I said no the fare was 20 and he threw it back the second time. I guess the fare should be 20.

I took a step back to look at his truck number. He then got out and ran around the back of truck while I still stood at the passenger door. He then tried to hit me on the face with his fist two times. I blocked both. He then got back in baht bus without payment and left.

The gal stood back and said nothing. I had two bruises from the blows. But this is not my only rodeo.

Look at this mindless modern art. Its not the kind of art you can look at and have an appreciation. With the Mermaid you could marvel at length with fondness.

Can anybody tell me what that modern art in front of Central Shopping is ?

That new art at Central Shopping Beach is now being redone.

Maybe this is the same arshole seen at Central Shopping giving the clerk problems while shopping for a pair of shorts.

Saw a falang matching description walking down 2nd rd toward Memorial Hospital. This was Saturday maybe 530PM. Traffic was stopped.

Falang had an Egg size bump on forehead topped off with a little blood. Seemed to be sober and a fast walk.

Could this be the customer ?

If you want to see the sidewalk now you are asking for too much, It is occupied with a flee market covering everything you want to see. The firework festible is in full swing. If you want to see the firework festible then ask for that.

Otherwise go to post 882 and start viewing pics from Oct. Not much has changed except for street lights etc,

I know you guys are baiting me to go off topic so:

Yes I confess I have tried to keep this thread alive, not just for sake of info about the beach but;

I was so tired of the "jet ski crap" and just wanted to see a thread that had some staying power.

So we are nearing the end of the beach project (maybe) and this thread could die a natural death.

Or you guys can start up again on off topic stuff and the mod will shut it down (up to you). I am amazed it

has stayed active as long as it has. I did notice that the view count has droped off but still has an

impressive number.

Way back when on this thread I stated that the next project would be to tear down beach side Walking Street

to widen the road. Dream on broom stick cowboy, of rocket ships to mars.

If they are building a walkway around the backside of the monument in front of Mikes Shopping it would not have to have a ramp, just flat. This would keep people from using the current steps that we all like(on water side). Sitting there looking out over the water without too much road traffic in sight.

If this walkway is built then wheelchair access around the monument will be perfect. Such is progress.

A new set of steps (30 meters) on both sides of the monument have been built.

Metal brackets attached to the sea wall near Nautical Hotel. Anybody have an idea what they will be used for ?

Im guessing that its the wooden balcony that was supposed to go around the outside of the steps at Mikes, maybe even allowing whellchair access. difficult to tell but at least they are trying

Yes it does look like a ramp to go over the beach side steps. Not the same as the artist rendering from months ago.

A big staging area. It has a stage at far end, not shown. During the holiday there were emergency vehicles and police. Today just long tents.

From what I understand and from some info that was given to me by a condo manager is;

Water is pumped from the lakes from Siam Country Club Rd toward Pattaya. Water users out that way should have no problem. I am sure they pump day and night every day.

Water usage over all of Pattaya area is way up in day time. Ever notice all the large storage tanks mostly on top of the buildings? So when a building needs water they just pump and store if and when they can get it. The first customers get all the water any time. Second customers get only at night and the tanks store for day use. Third rate customers get none at all. So many users are ahead of them that no water makes it or maybe on a rare occasion. How far from the lake determines your ability to receive water.

So the third rate customers must order water by truck all the time as needed. I heard there are two levels of quality. City water and pond water as ordered, cheap and not so cheap.

Second rate customers may have to order a tank truck if they use up too much water during the day.

This is what I have deduced so please enlighten me.

The real work of art for Patters Was down on Central Rd at beach. I miss the Mermaid with froliking dolphines. Pics from me asap.

All those bolts sticking up from the pave stones possibly for monting signs. In the past I thought this might be signs for direction etc. Now I am guessing they are for advertisments. Money number one.

you can get an idea where Patters location is by Satahip area protruding out in gulf, kind of squared off land mass.
