...will offer protection for about one year....
I wonder how many will die from the side effects.

But the penalty seems quite high, resembling a loan shark's rate.
-
It makes sense to me.

Should not be a big problem to catch him in Germany when the plane lands then, or did I miss something?
Edit: After reading it again, it seems he did not board any flight so the above assumption is wrong

The point is you do not have to worry about your wife's assets since you do not have any rights for them. The only one who should be worried by this situation is you since if anything happens with her, you are doomed in here (as is everyone of us poor beggars with no rights in this country).

You will be a foreigner in here forever, no matter what documents you have, it is what you are inside and how you look to them.

Problem is that even the natural causes in Thailand are often quite unnatural.

If bankers do their best to convince the population that there is no bubble, I am sure as hell that there is a giant one building up already.

...CIMB Thai offers 3,30 % 12 months and their rating is AA if i need to choose i know where I go
Yeah, those ratings are really "helpful". Did you know that all those filthy banks that went bankrupt in 2008 all got top ratings? Just a bunch of lies.

What is the problem? Thailand government is not interested in you at all if you do not work for Thai companies (since this income is not subject to Thai tax), so just keep working anywhere, no one really cares in here about cases like this. The only problem is if you make money out of Thai resources, then it could be a serious problem.

To follow up, people in here are often deep in debt and often even take their life because they can not pay back to the loan sharks. So what is your bet, will they take their life, or rather throw an old farang out of the house who is supposed to still have more than enough money to support himself anyway?
-
Awesome. I've read dozens of threads and don't hear this enough. I concur posterI did it the easy way.
Her land.
Her house.
I paid.
I live there.
No problem.
Well, if you prefer to live in a foreign country without any rights, "up to you". What if she dies of heart attack sooner than you, will you enjoy the fact that her family/heir can throw you out anytime?
-
"...Khun Suorn aged 70 left his wife, Khuin Janpen aged 48..."
so not just old farangs marry much younger wives, an insider job perhaps?
-
So you blame dealextreme for Thai laws?
-
They must have realized that banning it would make it even more popular, and people would find it on internet anyway.

Windows XP is just fine with your old hardware and upgrading it does not make any sense. If you buy a new notebook, it will have Windows 8 already.

And you are sad that they block Google AdWords for you? I must use plugins to block ads myself. For me, this is a positive thing that might not last long already.

Be careful a Usufruct expires after 30 years or upon your death!Yes, you can. Get a lease or usufruct on the land, then build the house in your name Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
And just why will I need to be careful after I'm dead?
After I'm dead what will any of this matter to me?
Because in Thailand, you can be dead even because of the usufruct.

I did lose the house and I only kept my pensions and what fitted into a Ford Mondeo estate car.
Mind you that WAS in the UK and not Thailand.
Please try not to generalise as it makes me think that you are both a genius and generally speaking that isn't true.
Let me generalize then, be it UK or Thailand, buy in your name, never in someone else name, if you can by any means.

What is so hard about making a usufruct when you cal this the easy way? Easy way of parting with the money, perhaps Many did it this way in Thailand, and most of them have a BIG problem now

Hope you're not referring to meAgree with everything said but there are still greedy unrealistic Gold-digging parents out there in deepest Isaan ( or should we rename it insane?)
I'll be asking for A LOT more than 1 million for my daughters, because of their stunning beauty and good education at private schools.
you can ask as much you want, the question is if you can get it Will you provide a lifelong warranty for the girls, too, and in case of failure return the money paid for them? Is not this equal to selling your daughters like in the Arab countries?
-
And in case you want to buy, buy a condo in your name (since you can not buy a house). Then you will also find out if she really loves you, or the money

If the bank refuses to borrow you money, they must have a reason to believe it is not a safe investment for them, most probably because you are not the real owner of the properties. Loan sharks or sell, simple as that, no other way. I would not lend any money to a farang owning "his" properties in a Thai GF name and I doubt anyone would. We must accept that in this country, our rights are not the same as back home where you can get a loan, have a company in your name, have properties in your name, etc. In here, you are supposed to spend and lose your money.
