  1. Strained relationships and a decrease in political support on the global stage. Economically, the loss of support has also been felt. Some nations and businesses have reconsidered or altered their trade and investment relationships with Israel in response to concerns about human rights abuses and violations of international law. Israel is facing isolation in certain international forums(and even Aseannow ) . Decisions at the United Nations and other multilateral institutions have at times been less favorable to Israel due to the erosion of support. One could also cite Amnesty INternational and other Human Rights groups that I've mentioned previously. Culturally, there has been an impact as well, with increased calls for academic and cultural boycotts. Various artists, academics, and intellectuals have chosen to distance themselves from Israeli institutions as a form of protest against the government's policies.
  2. Israel's international standing has faced loss of support for the last 15+ years, not just in the last month or two, with a significant factor being the criticism leveled against its policies, particularly in relation to the conflict with Palestine. The ongoing occupation of Palestinian territories, construction of settlements in the West Bank, and the blockade of Gaza have drawn condemnation from various countries and international organizations. Accusations of human rights abuses, war crimes, and violations of international law, including instances of apartheid and ethnic cleansing, have contributed to a decline in support for Israel. The conflict's complex nature, intertwined with historical, religious, and territorial factors, has led to heated debates and differing perspectives globally. Human rights organizations and advocates have raised concerns about the treatment of Palestinians, including forced evictions, restrictions on movement, and military actions in densely populated areas. The situation in Gaza, marked by recurrent conflicts with high civilian casualties, has fueled international criticism. Israel's construction of settlements in the West Bank has been widely regarded as a major obstacle to the establishment of a viable Palestinian state, prompting disapproval from the international community, including traditional allies.
  3. How arrogant and rude. Do you want ignored?
  4. Oh, I forgot Amnesty INternational
  5. When in a corner with questions you can't answer, you call a friend again ;) It's bizzarre your stance on Israel and even more bizaree how you disagree with UNicef, United Nations, Savethe Children and, now Human Rights Watch. Plain bizarre that you spend hours in denial here.
  6. The dehistoricisation of what is happening helps Israel pursue genocidal policies in Gaza. https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2023/11/5/why-israel-wants-to-erase-context-and-history-in-the-war-on-gaza
  7. While addressing the UN Security Council, the UN chief said that while he condemned in the strongest terms the massacre committed by Hamas on October 7, he wished to remind the world that it did not take place in a vacuum. He explained that one cannot dissociate 56 years of occupation from our engagement with the tragedy that unfolded on that day. https://www.aljazeera.com/opinions/2023/11/5/why-israel-wants-to-erase-context-and-history-in-the-war-on-gaza
  8. This contributed to the attack. Years of oppression and persecution. Across these areas and in most aspects of life, Israeli authorities methodically privilege Jewish Israelis and discriminate against Palestinians. Laws, policies, and statements by leading Israeli officials make plain that the objective of maintaining Jewish Israeli control over demographics, political power, and land has long guided government policy. https://www.hrw.org/report/2021/04/27/threshold-crossed/israeli-authorities-and-crimes-apartheid-and-persecution
  9. Oct 7 happened but it didn't start this war. Stop the childish nonsense. This was in AUGUST, 2022 by Human Rights Watch. Israeli authorities doubled down on their severe repression of Palestinians. Israeli authorities’ practices, undertaken as part of a policy to maintain the domination of Jewish Israelis over Palestinians, amount to the crimes against humanity of apartheid and persecution. https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2022/country-chapters/israel-and-palestine-0
  10. I can't see any hatred in his post.
  11. Are there any songs from your era/country that caused fighting ? In Thailand, this song gets people on the dancefloor at clubs and I often saw youths fighting when it played. When I was an teenager in the UK, the following got all us punks up on the floor fighting each other.
  12. Different if he stole your bag.
  13. I don't know. Maybe tents - make the UK unpleasant for illegal immigrants.
  14. Thanks, I know a little about this. My point was I think UK should be more like Thailand. We don't put illegal immigrants up in hotels like the UK does.
  15. Not true, pink cards are for migrant workers. I think you mean the white card or "Certificate of Identity" or "White Card" which is given to some refugees. The white card is not a formal recognition of refugee status under the 1951 Refugee Convention, but it does provide some degree of protection and allows individuals to remain in the country temporarily.
  16. Does Thailand allow people to apply for asylum? No, they kick them back where they came from, I think the UK should do the same.
  17. To the fundamentalist here that think the slaughter started on Oct 7. Israeli war crimes were happening before Oct 7. This from lat year:- Cage, Smother, Subdue, Repeat: Israel’s Gaza Policy For those in Gaza, it’s a struggle for survival. As my Gaza-based Human Rights Watch colleague Abier al-Masri wrote reflecting on last year’s hostilities: “I struggle to find the words to describe the terror of lying awake at night not knowing if I’d see daylight again, the anguish of those I interviewed who survived the obliteration of their families by Israeli strikes, the agony of seeing Gaza’s prominent towers reduced to mountains of rubble.” https://www.hrw.org/news/2022/08/17/cage-smother-subdue-repeat-israels-gaza-policy
  18. Thanks for posting Bill, I agree with you totally.
  19. In April 2022, there were 4,450 Palestinian security prisoners in Israeli prisons – including 160 children, 32 women, and over 1000 "administrative detainees" (indefinitely incarcerated without charge).[5] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_prisoners_in_Israel
  20. Has your country released the Palestinians you have hostage? https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2022/country-chapters/israel-and-palestine-0
