You are basing your answer on? I have no problem with the students or teachers, schools I help at, nor do the other teachers I'm associated with. Some people make judgements based on knowing a few out of millions of people, and it isn't wise.

Based on over 18 years of teaching in several Asian countries ,From Hakwons in South Korea to public schools in Thailand ,China, Saudi Arabia ect...

I found what i have read about it.........did this happen ?      Starting December 24, the Nong Khai border checkpoint will be opened with special protocols in order to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. The opening will mark the first land border to operate using the Test & Go entry scheme that only requires fully vaccinated travellers entering to take an RT-PCR Covid-19 test and wait for the negative results before being allowed to travel freely throughout all of Thailand.  Other land borders are expected to follow suit with Thailand intending to open all international land borders on January 1 including Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Phanom, and Mukdahan, all along Thailand’s border with Laos.

Ah, a question on many folks mind.

My GUESS is that the covid extensions will be continued.

Maybe crazy but my thinking was they would continue till such time that a/some land borders would open.

Omicron it in it's infancy in Thailand. Matter of time for it to be widespread here..

Bit surprised by recent reports of negative statements to few folk along lines ..." This is your last one".

Request at CW of outbound flight. Don't understand why.

So #1 and 2 for me.

isn't the laos land border open ? wasn't it suppose to open January 1st. ? any info appreciated

My wife needed a renewal.  Called local DLT in late September.  First available appointment 6 December.

She waited, attended appointment and now has renewed license.

    That is all I got.

hmm... my wife just renewed her license, took the test online and the next morning went to the DLT showed them the a photo of completion on her phone, took the color test ....  received her license.  Easy.   but ... it's now 505. Baht for the license

Just go and experience it first hand. Then you will be convinced it is fact. All these self serving NGOs in Maesot are a joke, competing , criticizing, each other , just for the donations and of course Money.  Get off your chair and go and see ! Everyone involved knows how to play their part for the piece of the pie.   I am not joking.   you will change your tune, i am positive.  the majority of these refugees are fake.

That's very surprising because it's Thai government policy to rotate government workers every few years: public prosecutors, judges, teachers, MoE staff, MoT staff, administrative staff of all kinds, medical staff, and certainly the officers who work in my local immigration office too. It's also frequent in the private sector, notably banks.

I'm not saying that all government workers get rotated every 2 or 3 years, but I know  many that have been, and I know for a fact it's policy.

In the UK the Prime Minister and the Minister for Home Affairs have explicitly instructed immigration officers to create a "hostile environment" for would be immigrants. Thank goodness Thailand is so welcoming by comparison.

But it's true that many people who wear uniforms seem to get off on the power it confers. Chin up my friend.

    Huh ?

My point ( which you appeared to have missed ) is that tourist scams go on all over the world, they are by no means unique to Thailand.

you just don't get it. no one cares  if it happens all over the world, I am sure they do already know. people are talking about issues in Thailand ,because...... this is a Thailand specific forum not an international forum.  therefore comments are ........   unless your one of the foreigners who are living in a foreigner bubble, there is living in Thailand and then there are the ones who make the appearance of living in Thailand. ( the bubble effect ).
