Did first jab Moderna Jan 14.

    Second Moderna 11 Feb.

Did two week Quarn in BKK starting 14 Feb.

did 89 days with Wife and then left for six months work.

Got 3rd Moderna jab on 6 August.

Plan back Land of Fake Smiles in October for the Winter.

Have official Vaccine card that indicates three Moderna Jabs.

    Did not cost anything.

Nobody questioned me about previous jabs.

Signs everywhere here adverting free Covid Jabs...no cost.

Conversely, Wife had to "pull a few strings" and drop a few BHT to get the SinoVac jab.

Do I feel guilty?   Hell yes.

This is a global pandemic, not a local virus.  How do we bypass all the political <deleted> and get the Vaccine out to everyone without the upper crust of society's "skimming the take".  You can pull the "Thai-ism' string and get the upper crust vaccinated, but the virus will still be mutating and propagating within the unvaccinated.

"WE" as the self-elated, superior creature on this sphere do more to destroy ourselves than further mankind.

I am going to try and get a third dose Wed. . But it will be a triple sinovac. No one wants the sinovac where I live. I don't believe it is safe to mix them.  oh.... It is the Land of Smirks,  The land of smiles (fake) is long gone.

At least in my personal experience yes, the school finance office transferred about 55% of the term fees back to me a few days ago. In addition to that, I am told that I will receive 2000 baht around the end of this month via the school from the government for 'help with living?'. There is even more than this, a number of days worth of free cellular data for each child (also from the government via the school). I do not have any web links as evidence for this but I am thinking the benefits are for all children.

    Most grateful!

Today the school gave out this Government money, It is supposed to be 2,000. For each child. But... The school decided on a service charge ? And gave each child 1500. And no internet data.  No one questioned them they just took what was given.  This is a poor village and every Baht helps. It is not right. And who to complain about it when their all in on it.

Import duty.....? The alternative is the local made ones that are more likely to blow off the user's fingers.

I have been to the gun shops in Bangkok just to see what was available. There is really not much of a selection , and I forget what the prices were, All I remember is they were so expensive.  I have been offered guns at the Burma border but I was to scared that as soon as I bought one they would turn around and get me busted for a reward or something.

But I bet he doesn't go back there for another 20.

He will try to be more careful i'm sure. My street has several thieves, years ago I caught a boy from across the street upstairs in my home he found about 10,000. it just so happens I went upstairs to get my phone for his sister to use. I beat the <deleted> out of him. His father asked me not to call the police. And yes, he is also mentally ill these days from speed and glue.  He is still scared of me.

So easy than.. a lot of Thai have a mental illness, convenient to use if they are arrested

Just last week a glue head that lives across the street stole 20 chickens from another neighbor  and sold them. He was caught , they beat the <deleted> out of him and decided to take him to the police station, He was back home the next day because the police said he was mentally ill.  So he just got away with it and the neighbor is out 20 chickens.

You aren't responding to my post, but i'm the OP.

Yes correct - unless you are 'in-country' your chances of getting a visa are currently almost nil.

At the moment, aside from Diplomatic Staff, or perhaps Tier 3 investors and above - I don't believe any foreigners can enter Vietnam until further notice. When those restrictions do lift, the issue of requiring a work visa (applied for by the company who wants to employ you) is basically a non-negotiable for the forseeable future.

    Thank you for the information.

Transmission is good open source software, no doubt about it, but I find it too basic. If you find it a little bare bones, then try another safe open source client, qbittorrent - visually its the same as utorrent without the bloat.

I just wanted to say thanks for recommending qbittorrent , It is working great, once I got connectable with the torrent site the speeds are dramatically improved.

They definitely want to encourage sponsored work visas.  That's nothing new.  It is also not a problem staying in Vietnam if you are married to a Vietnamese citizen.  This thread is mostly talking about everyone else which is probably the vast majority.

Have you accepted any job offers yet ? just wondering . As every person I have talked to recently say that I must be in the Country to apply for a job.

I had a friend who had similar symptoms but as it turned out it was because of excessive jerking movements with his right hand, not sure if this information is any help to the Op...

A lot of people here have "friends" My friend is having the same upper arm pain but with the left arm. it all began after taking the second dose of covid vaccine.

I have found that chewing raw garlic seems to keep infection at bay, at least people seem to give me a wide berth so not close enough to spread virus.

But maybe should look at alternatives like AZ ,Pf etc. Don't see much of friends any more for some reason.

Seriously , My wife has garlic in a plastic bag and inhales it, saying it helps prevent Covid. The first time I saw her doing this, I thought she was sniffing glue.

You are having a laugh! ????????????????????

Thai schools won't open until Term 2 (November) at the earliest.

International Schools MIGHT open in September or October, but I doubt it.

My daughters have completed three whole weeks of on-site school in 2021, but they're well versed in TikTok and Instathing.

Exactly the same, Maybe  one month last year , and two whole days this year. My daughter has 680

+ followers on Tiktok and youtube is her addiction.  She is 6 years old.  I can't complain she has learned so much in English from it. She speaks better English than her mother.

I buy a lot  hate having to do COD as you need to have cash. Prefer to have it paid so i dont have to get cash ready. Its only minor amount of times I got trouble and lazada always solves it faster. So all the time messing around with money does not weigh up against having to contact lazada once in a while. Just a matter of numbers and preference. Never lost a dime on lazada everything always got sorted out.

    Yes, understood.

The way I found this is I saw someone on the news in El Salvador essentially saying “we can transfer $100 dollars worth of money to any country in the world, and they receive $100 in their currency with no fees” lol

I paraphrased. But I think what the person meant was it is in fact possible to do this via their system (lightning netowork), but they are still under construction. So I don’t know?

But, I guess almost every citizen of El Salvador has one of these accounts, and it is accepted by the government there. Whatever that means I don’t know. But I will cross fingers for Thai baht soon:)

I am most interested in China RMB  to Thai Baht. China has the worst kind of currency restrictions.

Is that the best they can come up with....let it go and expect more as the years progress, it's just plan jealousy, I'd say that I am the wealthiest bloke in our village, I don't flaunt it, I keep to myself, I'm respectful and smile at people, and the hairdresser said to the Mrs the other day that people are saying your husband is a tight a$$, can't pronounce it in Thai, kee nook or something like that.

My wife saying, that's good, hopefully no more people come to ask for money, so I won't have to tell them what I told all of the other people, i.e. I don't have any money, it's my husbands, it will be mine when he dies, and that won't be for a long time because he is worth more alive than dead as his investments keep making money.

Actually thinking of getting a t-shirt made up with the $ symbol on the front and back lol

We know who it is, and just laugh it off, not going to lower ourselves to their standards, besides, were not a bank.

it translates to  A sticky <deleted>   Kee Niaow
