I just had it done last month , I downloaded fingerprint form on reg. a4 paper made 2 of them brought them to police station asked nicely they did it for free. FBI processing took 5 weeks , filled out credit card form also . very easy. I also used EMS about 800. baht

Bangkok bank let's me withdraw 25,000. per transaction. SCB 20,000.

That's right a smile goes a long way! and don't look like a bum when you arrive I see so many foreigners that look like idiots when at the borders and they wonder why they get this treatment from the immigration officers. I'd do the same.

I've been doing 30 day visa for the last nine years never had any trouble , immigration officers have always been nice. I have been legally married just over two years never bothered to change my routine. You should see my passport it is quite a mess .

yes you can apply for a 60 day extension even on the last days of you permission to stay (but better to do earlier, as the 60 days is added to the end of your current permission to stay).
I'm confused here, am I reading this correctly? You can extend your current 1 year extension of stay a further 60 days for visiting Thai wife without losing your current visa status?
I recently went to the immigration office to ask for an extension for 60 days and was told to cross the border and cancel my current 1 year extension and enter on a 15 day visa exempt and then they would give me a 60 day extension to visit wife.
