  1. Well gingag even though we have been at logger heads and you have your opinion it's becoming evident that either you are just trolling and baiting or Yingluck and Thaksin has tone your head in.

Your requesting other posters not to include your name in their replies yet you continue to use others and that is double standards.

If we didn't have different opinions then forums like this would not exist to vent our feelings.

Believe it or not gin I like some of your points that you make and I enjoy the robust debate as we all do but your doing yourself no favours with your undying love for the junta.

Gin I'm all for demroracy and freedom of the press and had circumstances been different and it was the yellow dems kicked out out by the junta I would still be calling for a return to demroracy. .

Demroracy might not be the best system but it beats what ever comes second!

You have to remember. It works both ways, when Abhisit was in power it was bash bash----then along came Yingluck we are not allowed our view of that regime, far far more bad, and no bashing from some of this clan, now the PM is in power it's bash time again.

We never had democracy with PTP if you do believe that then something wrong upstairs.

Why don't I do my self favours because I am happy at this moment to go along with him, as for your Quote " undying love for him" you are not doing yourself any favours.

You are not going to get this dream democracy unless something change here, but you still think the PM kicked out democracy-your deluded. So the question comes back to my point, Until Thai democracy is snuffed out and reality sets in then we can move forward.

If you guys want to hack me down for some truths -up to you. LOVE OF THE PM No WAY go along with it YES YES YES.

Lucky Thailand finally has a democracy now then, not?

  2. There are some things that should be kept personal for the general, however this huge amount of family wealth is not one as it's of public interest. How dare reporters and posters discuss it, you will hurt his feeling's.

It was his father's land that was sold and Prayuth disclosed that he got a share of the proceeds. He didn't say it was the maids or drivers. The company mentioned wasn't set up by him but by the purchaser!

    Non story really!

No, because of the circumstances, it is a story, really.

  3. As if nurses don't already sacrifice by working all hours, overtime, dealing with suffering on a daily basis, exposed to every disease on the planet, and now they are expected to give up having a family to support them in their old-age? Where does this administrator get off with this extremely unreasonable demand? It seems administrators have to check their compassion and empathy at the door to work at this hospital. I am not a nurse nor do I work at this hospital, but I am deeply offended by this notice and the administrator who had it posted.

    Ram,

The manager wasn't requesting the nursing staff NEVER have children--just that they postpone for the busy months around the holiday.

    Clutch,

So by postponing all staff pregnancies for fourteen months, the supervisor definately has your angle covered, uh?

  4. I don't know. I sort of have mixed views about this.

Girls showing off their body parts is one thing... doing it in the name of their alma mater is another.

I think there is a time and a place for everything and this is not one of those times or places for it.

I think any educational institution of repute would warn their students once about attire and then give them the boot if they do not comply. The reason for this is simple; educational institutions are not only there to teach the sciences, engineering and such, but also to prepare our children for assimilation into society with etiquette, respect for self and others, among many other moral and ethical standards.

Letting the students do this is giving the institution a bad reputation and image; and everything it has worked for to attain a higher standard of excellence is simply being corrupted by mixing this behavior with it.

There are fathers out there who love their daughters and when sending them to places like this would more than likely not want this going on around their daughters. I would certainly be one of them.

This, to me, is simply another black mark for Thai education, if you can call it that, and in my view, no self-respecting father, who wants his daughter to become self-reliant and successful woman, would send his little girl to a place like this.

Not me. No way. I am not a prude by any means, but as I said, there is a time and a place for everything and this is not one of those times or places for it.

From what I've witnessed in Thailand, you don't get ahead by using your brain.

  5. Would it be possible to get a complete explanation of why the two Burmese cannot be the culprits based on facts. Even my Thai friends believe that they are scapegoats. But this is mainly based on the fact that Thai police is hated by foreigners and thai alike because of corruption and abuse and on the fact that since the murder authorities so much wanted the Burmese migrants to be the murderers.

However personally I find difficult to believe that the Thai police is at the level for a fabrication of this dimension . So many people have been involved including not only policemen but forensic personal and external laboratories. How can they pay all of them. The risk would be too high and the coordination too sophisticated.

Did I just see the Sun sneak by you.

  6. Oh the irony!!whistling.gif

For the last couple of weeks the hang-them-high-brigade has been out in full force here on Thaivisa.

Now the police has "solved" the case and the very same posters come out in full force to defend the alleged culprits.

I am not saying, that the police has got it right, actually I doubt it very much, BUT IF. THat would be quite ironic, wouldn't it?coffee1.gif

Don't bogart the pipe my friend, pass it over to me.

  7. B o y c o t t --- K o. T a o

Hannah Witheridge and David Miller deserve real justice. We shall never forget this unjust, corrupt case and we all know who did this. Until Mon and Worat are behind bars we shall forever boycott your gangster run island.

One thing bothers me with the Mon / Worat thing .. everyone wonders why they didn't give DNA .. But my question is this.. IF the police are so corrupt as everyone here seems to think (including myself) . why did they not simply fake his dna test? It would have made it look way better.. right? it doesn't make sense from any perspective...

Because Mon and Worat know that they are above the law and by doing so it would be an extreme "loss of face". This is Thai cockiness in it's purest form.

  8. Where has this rumour come from that has caused such fear amongst Cambodian workers? Illegal workers always face the possibility of being caught and no doubt have to live with that fear, but now it seems they are in full on panic mode. Why?

Because they are well aware of the nationalist rhetoric sweeping the country and they are only too aware of the animosity towards Cambodians by the Thais. And theres clearly some rumours going around and there hasnt been any attempt to deny them or reassurance.

You also have to remember that Cambodians have real experience and in their very recent history of what happens when its too late to get away.... You Die

If I were a Cambodian id be gone permit or not, Nearly every family lost people in the days of Pol Pot... they have a real and sensible fear of being a victim of any strong arm military takeover, especially one that had the Thai armed forces pointing fingers at Cambodia for staging attacks and being blamed for recent insurgency.

Who the heck needs to take the chance when half of your elder family or maybe all were wiped out as recently as the 80s

    Well said. Thank you.

  9. The mad comment referred to private citizen offering a reward for the arrest of someone who has warrants out for him, his location known and the police not doing their job. It is a crazy concept. Cold you imagine what would happen if a group of Aussies took over govt house in Canberra because they didn't like the govt. Then the police not arresting them due to army pressure.

Whereas I agree it was disgusting cheering the murder of those in Trat, Don't forget that the PDRC all cheered the speech where suthep told the crowd how the reds ran into bullets resulting in many more deaths

Could be a rough week this week for your boys in Melb

No it won't..It is a bye?

As with Mandela who was arrested after over 100 terrorist charges Suthep will be arrested too.

As with Mandela, unless you are a time traveller, I suggest we let history judge the Suthep.

If you are a time traveller feel free to tell me how Suthep is judged in 40 years as well as the winner of the next Melbourne Cup.

If not then join the ranks of bluenosecodger who tried and failed to predict the future.

The bye is under rated as an opponent, We did not get the 4 points and lost Gibbo for most of the season

Don't you think comparing Suthep to Mandela is a bit of a stretch. One wanted to free his people from oppression and have equal rights for all. The other wants to maintain the rich of societies right to rule and have votes of those he does not approve of worth 1/10th of those he does. One supported a full and even democracy whereas the other wants full dictatorship rule for himself

I have no idea of the future either so don't be so touchy.

I won't go further as last time I delved into this it was deemed off topic..Rest assured though that Mandela has 103 more terrorist charges against his name than Suthep does yet Mandela is considered a hero. Give it 40 years Suthep may well have a statue of himself in CHaiong Mai as well.

If you disagree then you are a time traveller.

History will judge him……..and NO, that judge cannot be impeached or demonized.

Yah, Yah, Yah, great. Now can you please pass the pipe.

  10. Nattawut is not too bright,, doesn't he know Suthep can collect 5 million baht from Thai citizens in just a day's walkabout through Silom?

And what would he do with that 5 Million baht that the minions loyal followers gave to him in good faith to fight the good fight? Pay people not to arrest him?

I'm not quite sure I follow the logic of your post. Is there any?

Well that's one way of putting it but a more Thai way of saying it is, he's just passing it up the patronage system.

  11. Sure. The protesters clean up after themselves, but they leave their bombs behind.

No, your beloved whistle-blowing, gun-toting mob did not clean up. The cleaners were hundreds of local council workers. Sa-nguan Phattumanond, a park cleaner, said there was a huge amount of rubbish left behind.

    Who?

The violent "anti-democracy protesters" are just a microcosm of Thai society, so one would expect the "huge amount of rubbish left behind" too mimic the larger Thai populace in general.
