  1. A friend's friend is Senegalese living in France, and  she applied for her visa for Thailand and flied there. After three days she makes an exit to visit Singapore and  is denied boarding at Singapore airport for taking her flight back to Bkk.  Although she has all her reservations and her return flight BKK-CDG. She asks  what can she do. Maybe she didn't read the visa rules, I don't know, as I'm not directly in contact with her. Thanks for your help.

The only thing I have found that not only kills geckos, but really turns them off, and gets them to move on is insect spray. I have had huge geckos in my home before. They are hard to catch. I sprayed them directly on the face with an ample amount of insect spray, and it seemed to really dull them and slow them down. I was then able to clobber them, and exterminate them. It also helps to lead them either out of the house, or in a direction where they can be captured. The spray will kill smaller geckos if you use enough of it. It also seems to be a bit of a deterrent, as they seem to really hate the smell of the stuff.

spray it in your own face

The guy was staying in Thailand as an illegal worker, he shouldn`t had been here anyway. If he felt non proficient on riding a motor bike, as said in his own statement; "It’s two people on a scooter, it’s a very difficult thing to do" then he was negligent in taking his girlfriend as a passenger and placing her life at risk.

And as you say; why is he hiding his face in shame if this guy believes he shares no blame in this whatsoever, that does say it all. Very unfortunate for the pregnant girlfriend who placed her trust in a complete incompetent that has shattered so many lives. Shame it wasn`t the other way around and she survived the crash instead of him.

I absolutely agree. He said it was the fault of the car who braked suddenly. He did not keep safe distance with the car. . He was the one who swerved to try and avoid the car. He is the one responsible for the accident and this woman's death because he should have been in control of his vehicle. In his face and attitude  in his videos, there is something weird, deeply selfish,  in this guy. He hid his face at the police station. He didn't have an ounce of recognizing that he had his part of responsibility, which is gross, he was the driver and the one who didn't control his bike  !!

KOH TAO — Surat Thani provincial police said Friday they had ordered officers on Koh Tao island to reopen an investigation into the death of a Belgian tourist previously ruled a suicide.

The move followed news reports that Elise Dallemagne, 30, might have been murdered – contrary to the police’s conclusion back in April. Dallemagne, found dead on April 27, was the latest known foreigner to have died on Koh Tao, an island known for a string of backpackers’ deaths since 2014 that some people found suspicious.

A French dive instructor who formerly worked in Koh Tao for several years told me that 10/15 years ago there were already quite a lot of killings there, unsolved..

I always pull over and get out of the way for an ambulance with lights flashing, but many, many people don't.   There are a fair number of ambulances on the elevated expressway between Chonburi and BKK.   I travel that road frequently.   I assume a number of those ambulances are taking people to hospitals with more specialized care than can be found in Chonburi.    They travel quite quickly in the outer most lane, but a lot of people just don't move over for them.

On the ambulance (and police and other emergency vehicles), they need to have and follow strict guidelines about the use of lights and sirens.   On more than one occasion, I have seen them traveling with the lights on and then pull over somewhere and get coffee.

they should just take a dasham video proof that the driver was obstructing the ambulance, for further justice action

Good catch ! . What an a..h....  BTW those who call themselves"Bi" people,  are just  bored by straight sex relations,  giving  way to their pulsions toward  persons of both sex, that means having no limits of good sense and restrain.. simply animals. "bi" is not a genre, just irresponsible and egoistic behaviors encouraged and suggested by the rotten media ..

Well as en English guy I don't see your point to argue a french problem. I am much better with my french Health care, thanks for that. I am also much happier with the french way of seeing the interests of having the kids who have landed in France, legally or not, being able to read and speak properly.

As for your words from the old song I am quite sure the Thai thinks the same toward the farangs.

I guess the difference between "God and my Right" (which is from french origin by the way) and Liberty, equality, fraternity, is also another cultural difference, and I prefer my side of the Channel.

    Have a good day

I"m French too, and this ideologist's interpretation of liberté Egalité Fraternité is preposterous. We are invaded by hordes of people who cannot and don't want to integrate for the majority of them.

  8. Hmm is this exactly the perfect example of "discrimination" towards foreigners ? We can find  many examples, but here I dont know.. It can depend also on what tone the waitress said it to her.  I can understand her  feeling, if she was discriminated previously, which could be why  she overreacted (emotional tensions linked to a previous unsolved situation) -->"...Near ruined her day"...  Maybe she had not a lot of money and could not afford to buy this pizza if not at the reduced price in which case the attitude of the waitress is poor. In such instance, talking to the waitress about it in a kind way may have helped her change her mind and have her offer the special discount on the kingsize pizza.

But if we consider, cold headed, that special case as example, I would say this kindly  to her that although she seems emotionally linked to pizzas (which I am too ! ), Thai people themselves are linked emotionally and symbolically  to their Late King, so if this "only for Thai people" promotion was offered to anyone regardless of nationality it would lose of its reason to be as just a little gift for Thai people at this Nation's time of mourning....  I'm not Thai but  I can understand that. And by the way, maybe this was a crypted message to her that she may be better feed on something else than pizzas (how much does she weight)?

Whatever , if I were Thai, this post would make me see her as another farang whiner. Spilling hot oil on a pizza is a rich idea, but using it on a fire to extinguish it is not the right solution : even if her hope to get a juicy pizza slice at the bargain price offered was legitimate, I think  the effect on Thai people who read this story is just COUNTERPRODUCTIVE.  Better take the Mai Pen Rai attitude then go and get a pizza or something lighter elsewhere, the Thai way.

More generally speaking, not necessarily linked with that case, if you want someone to improve his attitude toward you, there are 2 steps : get back to your inner Self first to  find peace or alternatively   indulge in a good rest(aurant). Then you can talk to the person gently without anger about the issue that affects you, but also   focus on the person's qualities and not his defects, even if you see them , as anger (coming from tirednessj distraction,frustration,...) cannot bring any productive results. Also, it's not about being right, it's about creating a friendlier attitude from others. Some attitudes of some Thais (and anyone on this planet) may be immature and ego(is)tic, but any harsh critic should be mitigated with some words on the good aspects of the people. That would make them happy and be better toward you. Thais are particularly sensitive to that. And is a law of nature. The mirror effect. This is deeply linked with emotions. Emotions are located in   the "second brain", in the abdomen, the seat of empathy, emotions (whichever ), one of the reason why people are so obsessed by food and filling up their stomach. To come back to the subject, Thai people read this forum as you know,  and I'm sure they talk with each other about the alleged grumpiness of some foreigners by reading their posts. Some will remain either   neutral or react negatively...  I know it can be hard to suppress.. Even if you feel/know you are right,  before writing  or saying anything, wait till any anger has faded because frustration makes us focus on the negative things. Don't underestimate the power of words in this world of fast transfer of information to anyone, anywhere... So choose them well. And get back to your inner Self away from outside interference and take your time before taking any important decisions or saying/writing anything to others, whether in real life or on the internet.

I'm outta here and back to Bangkok on dec 20. Yatta ! I invite you and your friend for a pizza and a drink.  Happy Birthday to her !   cheers  Al

  9. Achh.. Thanks  Kannot for the link. Quite the same delays as here in Europe.. This drone is the most advanced compact foldable drone ever and I have lots of ideas for it .. I finally took the step of pre-ordering it here  at  an online shop in France saying the stocks  might arrive around mid December. They accept to cancel the order if  they can't send the drone before I fly to BKK. I love this forum. Cheers  Al

  10. Hi everyone, I'm arriving in Thailand Dec 21, and I'm looking for a shop in Bangkok or Chiang Mai where I could buy this specific drone, the DIJ Mavic Pro for filming the northern Thailand natural landscapes near Mae Hong Son.  If anyone can inform me on a good drone shop in BKK where i could find this item or other kinds of "follow me" drones, that would be really helpful. Thanks in advance. Cheers.

Thai-PAN coordinator Ms Prokchon Usap told the media on Thursday that the network collected 10 types of vegetables and six kinds of fruits which are popular among the consumers for tests to find out pesticide residues during August 23-29.

The ten types of vegetables include red chilli, kale, morning glory, lettuce, cabbage, cucumber, pea eggplant, tomato and basil. The six kinds of fruits are Sainampoeng orange, papaya, water melon, cantaloupe, guava and dragon fruit.

"About 56 percent of fresh vegetables and fruits...are laced with chemical residues beyond acceptable standards..."

There is more than just "residue" on fruits and vegetables. There is a thick coating. I live next to a number of fields used for growing rice and vegetables, including beans, garlic, morning glory, etc. Before anything is planted, the workers are spraying the fields to kill weeds. As soon as anything is planted, they are out there spraying again. They spray at least 2-3 times a week.  I would think that it is impossible to get organic produce in Thailand due  to overall soil contamination.  I grow some of my own  vegetables, and although I don't use any chemical fertilizer or sprays, I am sure that the soil in which I grow my produce in contaminated as a result of chemicals leaching  from the enjoining fields.

I expect to see farmers stop using all those chemicals about the same time they stop their burning. .

Added to the high noxiousness of forest or fields smoke, when they burn their fields these chemicals are also found in the smoke and that's what we breathe.. these people have peanuts instead of brains.
