Your going to have masses of people queuing up for drug free, save them paying for them. All within the next 15 months, where will they be giving them out, in front of Gov-House??.
Sorry Brian, saw your post after I posted.

I look forward to the day I can buy my Meth, Crack and Heroin at 7/11 or a convenient late night vending machine, properly taxed and authorized by the Government without fear of reprisals.
I'm sure this will solve all the problems of the flawed "war of drugs".
Dumbasses.
until tell then i said shaken not stirrrrred

I'm so far from being a doctor...but...but...explore the very outside chance the shock of internally generated, ie. heart (attack)...etc.

Thats precisely why we need the man back, his attitude to drugs are utterly ruthless. a lot of innocents went missing you say? the big question is would you sacrifice 1000 to save one million.
the ratio would be closer to 999,999 to 1M. Not sure whether that last person would be a seller/pusher or buyer/user, but it'd be kinda be a funny to watch him fretting about his business or fix!

These nests belong to Baya Weavers ( ploceus manyar/ นกกระจาบอกลาย) ; what distinguishes the nests is the long entrance tube which you can see hanging down; it's a very common resident; male in breeding shows very prominent yellow on the crown and nape; not to be confused with the Asian Golden Weaver the male of which is yellow all over barring wings. There is one other species of weaver - Streaked Weaver and that is much rarer than the other two species, and can be distinguished because its breast, funnily enough, is streaked! It can also be difficult distinguishing the juveniles of all the different species. But the nests are certainly those of Baya Weavers.
The "You The Man" award goes to you G.!
I would have said hornets. duh!

This is all a misunderstanding. The monk was simply doing his best to rid his fellow man (and the vehicles) of attachments and more importantly, helping them to shed their car-ma.
Excellent!
car-ma = every action has an impact on ones mother's automobile....amen

You might also consider some of the nicer hospitals. I was stunned to see a near full-time pianist playing at one near where I live.
And perhaps another member can expand, but don't many of the malls employ same?
Chuc may man! (Good luck! (Mods))

I thought the 150 baht fee applies to Thai banks as well... i.e Use a K Bank ATM with an SCB card you will be hit with the fee but use an SCB ATM and an SCB card you won't be...
Can't speak for all domestic banks, but I've never seen a charge more than 20B.
-
What's the issue with the ATM fee? It's been fairly standard practise in Farangland to do the exact same thing.
In Australia (like Thailand) if you use an ATM that doesn't belong to your bank you get hit with a $2 fee. Yes it's a bit more (or less) depending on the forex rate but in essence it's still an annoying fact of life.
Overseas withdrawls you generally get hit with a withdrawl fee (circa $A5), unless your bank is linked with a banking alliance i.e Westpac which has an alliance with a number of overseas banks - if the OP banks with BNP he would be familiar with the "Global Alliance". You also get hit with the Thai banks fee plus your own banks fee plus a foreign exchange fee (that's the worst of them IMHO)
Doesn't make it right, but it should make it an easier pill to swallow.
As for opening a bank account here, generally Thai banks will be hesitant to open an account for a farang on a tourist visa.
Perhaps go to one of the banks at Chaengwattana and tell them you need to open an account in order to fulfil your visa requirements.
I'm not saying it will work, but you'll find one that will. All the usual suspects are there and in the same area so if one says no, you can pop next door and try your luck with the next bank.
As crazy as it sounds, I'd be a little more accepting of the flat 150 baht fee if it were applied across the board to include domestic atm cards. I get that there are many types of fees (exchange rate, not my bank machine, unique bank fees that vary from bank to bank...etc.), but, an additional 'whatever' fee on top of the proceeding....well, it's my first encounter with something like that. Isn't this fee at least a tiny bit different? If not, why does it generate so very much hoopla?

I wish my French was as good as your English.
Allow me to echo your ATM rant. Downright infuriating!
...speaking of Saigon, I used to love hitching rides on rice barges throughout the delta - all for the price of a chicken (which the crew would prepare for all of us).

Thank you Yingluck and PTP for all the effort you have put into flood prevention.
So now the Government is to blame for the heaviest rainfall in a decade?
Thailand gets Monsoon rain, it's supposed to flood when this happens. Try and get used to it and stop expecting someone to build a magical hole that drains all the water away.
Easy now. This is a raison d'etre for some.

Miss? Short list, having been here 7 years now, (from Southern California) in order of importance:
1) Mexican Food (affordable, variety) and cheap Margaritas
(I HAVE finally located Salsa, and the makings for great burritos AND a Margarita pre-mix, so #1 is losing some priority LOL)
2) Magic Mountain & Disneyland (gigantic safely-maintained roller coasters)
3) Seeing my best friend and other friends, and the entertaining conversations..
4) Seeing the few family members who will still talk to me, after "abandoning America"
5) The moderate climate of Southern California.
6) Being able to go body-surfing in moderate size waves (2-4 feet high)
So... no "serious issues" in what's missed.
And I have to say there were a LOT of serious issues and problems I USED to have in my life in the states, which happily, are non-existent here in LOS.
It’s just downright f’ing cruel to even mention Mex….food. Are you trying to kill me????

Hijack thread alert: I’m not even from England, but from all the negative crap you take about your food, I’d dearly miss a proper English breakfast! Can’t be beat!
Someone mentioned Mexican food…unless it’s made by a guy with a hairnet in a dirty white t-shirt…it just ain’t like being there.

Northern California - my list of the things I miss would crash the server
...but, the list of the things I love about living here levels the scale
