  1. I'm ready to apply for a LTR Wealthy Pensioner Visa and have been in contact with several agencies to support me with the application. It's a bit of a minefield with fees ranging from 85,000 baht to 42,000 baht (most common around 50,000 baht): from BOI certified agencies to big legal firms to individuals running companies. Everyone says "we have a 100% success rate" because "we only submit applications we've fully vetted and which believe will succeed." No-one wants to work on a success only basis though. So, I'm looking for solid recommendations about firms you've used to successfully apply for an LTR - Wealthy Pensioner Visa. If you're so minded a brief description of your experience and if possible the fees would be welcomed Many thanks in advance
  2. The OP asks "Does anyone live in the On Nut Sukhumvit 81 area? Is there a lot of stuff to do in the area? Especially at night?" I tried to describe the "stuff" in the "area" not just the Soi. I hope the OP found if helpful
  3. Whlist Sukhumvit 81 is quite a scruffy and narrow soi - made worse by the fact its also a cut through from Soi 77 to Sukhumvit I think a lot will depend on which end the soi you live. The Sukhumvit end is quite lively with lots of restaurants and a cinema in the Century Plaza, some lively bars and eating places just a short walk down Soi 50 (Beacon Place), a great Italian restaurant in Soi 79 which also boasts several massage places. There is a good gym in the Phyll - soi 54 and of course a very big Lotus's adjacent to On Nut BTS station - which has a good service to downtown - 5 stops to Phrom Phong/ 6 stops to Asoke and 7 stops to Nana. Not all gloom and doom if you choose the right end of the Soi
  4. My aorta aneurysm was first detected at a routine full health check at Thainakiran Hospital in BKK using ultra sound in 2018. It was monitored annually (ultrasound) and the this year a CT scan as it was reaching danger levels. I had a stent fitted via EVAR surgery (via groin) just recently.Very expensive
  5. We use talcum powder. Place along the ants trails. Disappear completely within 4 hours.
  6. The OP might want to check this from HMRC Inheritance Tax Manual. In simple terms a non-domicile spouse gets a £325k exemption and a further £325k nil band allowance - so £650k in total is free of IHT without having to make any election to be domiciled in the UK. If the election is completed then all of the assets are exempt from IHT but have ongoing conditions attached https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/inheritance-tax-manual/ihtm13047
  7. I think you need to get some very specialist advice. Getting £1,000,000 per annum interest equates to capital over £18,000,000. If that is really the case of course!!
  8. This not correct. It’s progressive tax and there are allowances to take into account too
  9. Southern Ireland is also a good choice. Although it’s in the EU it’s not in Schengen. Provided you enter from the UK you won’t need any visa for your GF. Friendly people, same language, lots of interesting places and not to expensive to fly there or possibly go by ferry.
  10. Away from Thailand and looking at the bigger picture then this offers all those millions of expats with ‘frozen’ pensions a chance to build a much bigger collective voice.
  11. With that being remitted every month you’ll be into 30% tax from next year
  12. No TM30 or rental agreement was requested or provided. I have lived at the same address for 8 years now and the address on the forms was the same as registered at my 90 day report. I assume that someway down the line I must have completed at TM30, if that is normally required.
  13. I MAINTAIN A SEPARATE ACCOUNT FOR MY VISA EXTENSION AND GET IT UPDATED EVERY 3 MONTHS WHEN THE INTEREST IS ADDED SO THERE ARE VERY FEW ENTRIES OVER A YEAR - NO CONSOLIDATION
  14. Thanks for report. I assume you were given a ticket because you went to document check chicks first. No need to attend main desk on entry. You should also have a print out of your confirmation email. THE TICKET WAS ISSUED WHEN I BOOKED THE APPOINTMENT ONLINE AND WAS IN EFFECT WAS THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL. THERE WAS NO DOCUMENT CHECK WHICH DID SURPRISE ME. TM47 has been added to required docs. I ALWAYS TAKE TM47 - JUST IN CASE Note that you did not provide Bank Statements and io accepted copies of bankbook pages. Not always the case. I MAINTAIN A SEPARATE ACCOUNT FOR MY VISA EXTENSION AND GET IT UPDATED EVERY 3 MONTHS WHEN THE INTEREST IS ADDED SO THERE ARE VERY FEW ENTRIES OVER A YEAR. You did not receive priority for 70+. IN THE RE-ENTRY AREA PRIORITY IS GIVEN TO PREGNANT WOMEN, PEOPLE WITH CHILDREN AND SENIORS With appointment you are seen on time and sometimes early.
