  1. Well now I can't decide - go to Malaysia or to Cambodia.  I've always wanted to see Ankgor Wat - anyone been there?

Go to Angkor – it’s truly awe-inspiring. I live in Cambodia and as much as a love Thailand I have visited Siem Reap four times and each time I’ve been amazed at how spectacular the Temples are. Don't forget to pack your camera.

  2. Bangkok Kid

If you’ve just finished high school maturity isn’t on your side and that speaks volumes in Asia. While the Thai securities might be squeezing your soft rosy cheeks the DOS might not be impressed by the fact you’ve just completed school yourself because if you teach in the adult market you’ll find that most of you students will be older than you and you ‘in their eyes’ won’t fit the profile of a teacher.

If you are determined to teach – get yourself a TEFL.

  3. In Pattaya you can practically live on English food – as I’m a fan myself of our great nations much slighted foodstuff. You don’t even have to eat Thai food!

Because I don’t live there the others will advise you better than me but when I’m there I like to eat at an English pub called the Ritz (strangely enough). They do a great breakfast with black pudding.

  4. Where can I buy Diet Coke?

You can buy Diet Coke where lots of secretaries are taking a lunch break and you just so happen to be the rather muscular window cleaner.

  5. ....And why would you need a hard hat ??

I spent a year living directly opposite the Dogs <deleted> looking down into it.............nuff said.

Sounds rough – why go in there? I escaped the UK just to get away from such places.

They belong back there and NOT here.

  6. If He's a she, or she is a she  Then she must be packing a consealed weapon.

    Hard to tell.

Johng - you should have pulled the f*ckers pants down because that would have made for a good photo.

  7. I snaped this Thai crashed out...  just past the Bamboo bar near the entrance of walking street last night.

Ahh she’s just lulling guys into a false sense of security.

  8. gburns57au does have a point there.

Although it’s not accurate to really say that most lucrative businesses in Thailand have already been pioneered by an already successful company – I think that’s a good argument because they have the know-how and backing required.

It’s food for thought. Small businesses aren’t famous for being raging overnight successes and need time and dedication.

  9. Opening a business in the service industry in a place like Pattaya is a risky venture. But given the finances to support it while becoming more established it might have some success.

Just be very careful and be sure you know what clientele you want to aim for.

  10. I'll give you five pigs, three goats and a pickled egg.

However think of the market value once you scrubbed the place up a bit. Buy now while it's a buyers market, give it a lick of paint and flog it on.

I've done it before with Chinese babies.

  11. Text and Talk Academy.

Not wanting to stoke the proverbial fire here but T and T have in the past been the subject of debate on other wesites. But someone that I have met recently trained with them is a highly competent teacher and says that they were great.

  12. everyone was having a good time, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. went out each night after 6Pm (when the ban on water throwing started) and never got wet.

Thanks Biggles - that's what I needed (or would have liked to have heard). In Phnom Penh ot's one whole week that's horrid - whereabouts I live anyway.

I don't mind joining in the fun during the day when I'm in my beach clobber it is in the evenings when it would annoy me. If it does indeed die down after six I'll book the flight in the morning.
