I know I’m a new guy hereabouts but I’ve been lurking around this board for ages before I finally posted it’s a great board with useful information and interesting posters and here is my take on trolls.

By replying at all isn’t exactly helping. I post on message boards (this one and others) because it’s a useful way to exchange information and facts also because it enables me to communicate with like-minded people. Through a couple of boards I’ve met some people who have become close social friends. But these (troll) prats just jerk off on winding people u because their social skills are inept. Is that someone I’d wish to have an exchange with?

I’m in my thirties and I was brought up in northern mining community. So many of those sweet childhood memories of endless summers running through fields of golden corn and hiding in the apple orchards – just do not exist.

I've in Sea East Asia years and I only got robbed once.

In Khmer there is absolutely no books for casual reading. There was before the Pol Pot regime. It's a pain in my job to motivate students to read outside the classroom.

But to get a thirteen year old interested in books Ajarn is correct in saying it’ll have to be a subject that has relevance to him in some way e.g. he might like swords, dragons and stuff. That may well do the trick.

I teach in Cambodia and there is hardly any Khmer literature. I don’t know about the Thais but reading for pleasure does not exist over here and that doesn’t help me as a teacher because it’s very hard to encourage.

I have to disagree here chaps. I loathe Chang beer. If I drink beer it's imported.

Chang is the worst sh*t in the world. I'd rather drink a pint of my own piss on the hour every hour than have to consume Chang.

I'm a G and T man myself. Sounds pompous I know but I'm from a mining family who drank crap beer for breakfast.

Also it gives you a demon hangover.

I?ve been teaching in Cambodia and I?m in need of a well deserved break. Consequently I?ll have a holiday in Pattaya (aye!) so I want to ask about hotels and anyone can recommend.

Preferably, being a tight a---, I want something cheap and good about B300ish with amenities (clean, hot water and air-con etc) as this will leave me more beer money and I'm a man in need.
