We got ILR,

It was not hard really, you go inside, they check you have form SET(M) and payment details, then they give you a ticket and you sit down wait for you number, like down the Doctors.

You then goto a counter they take your payment details first, then take application form, then all your extra paperwork, then tell you to wait in reception for the biometric photos and fingerprints.

Then they tell you to go shopping or something, and come back in one hour, but keep your phone on in case they call you. remember the phone number on the application form, so I had to tell the misses to stop playing on Line and FaceBook, to save her battery life.

When back in one hour, and straight away she said YES, and have to wait 7 - 10 days for the biometric residence permit ILR card to arrive in the post by courier so they advise not to travel anywhere to not to miss it.

Interesting tho.... I was looking in her passport for a stamp or something but they don't do that. The Card is the Ticket.

I must say that Solihull where we went was Fantastic, the whole experience was easy. From parking the car in John Lewis for £4.80 to the PEO Solihull to the nice shopping centre. It took us and 1h 20 mins to get their.

Hope its just a mistake that it is not on the printed of form SET(M)

Hello All

I have noticed that EMD English Management Direct is not on the SET(M) print of under Approved awarding bodies??

My Wife has passed her EMD Entry Level Cert in ESOL International Entry 1.

Which are accredited by ASIC, ASIC are still on the SET(M) form.

It was on there before on the 25/05/2013.

Should I be worried about this???? I know it all changes on 28/10/2013. Got an appointment for ILR 04/09/2013 at PEO

What a fantastic list, so the misses can fly from London - Maldives, then Maldives - London with no Visa requirements ??? Has anybody out there done this journey ???

So is that 1 year after ILR, because you do the 2 years for ILR, get ILR then wait 1 year, which makes a total of 3 years.

Looks good. Don't you have more than 15 photos together tho, can you give more youn think?

Just saying, we gave about 70 photos together all from different time and different locations. We also put all our photos in a Folder in date order of our relationship. 60% had dates on them.

Just downloaded the ILR(M) today,

Was thinking of going down the PEO root, but can I book an oppiontment at a Settlement Checking Service place to check all is ok, and then still do the PEO root ??? Can you do this ??? Am I correct in thinking if I go straight to the PEO place, and something is wrong, or I've ticked the wrong box, we would fail the application and not get a refund of £1426.

My wife failed the Life in the UK Test again.

BUT Yes she has passed her ESOL level 1 in Thailand which was needed for the Spouse Visa, and she done it again here in the UK last month, the Results are coming in the post as I am typing this.

So we can use the ESOL level 1 ????

for her ILR before Oct 2013 ???

What do you mean about including citizenship material ????

I'm I right in thinking she has to have 6 different companies addresed to our home, with joint names or just hers? We have

Council Tax, Water, Ele & Gas together, Mobile Phone, Pay Slip, Bank.

She has passed her ESOL level 1, shame thie is not enough for ILR tho ...

Any other tips please please let me know.

Hello All.

My wife has a Spouse Visa, valid from 25/07/11 - 25/10/13, She arrived in the UK 4/9/2011. She had to go back to Thailand for 22 days within the visa time. I understand she has to do 24 Months in the UK before we apply for the ILR Visa. When sould we start applying for the ILR.

We have been trying to do the Life in the UK test but she has failed 4 times now, she has another test 6 March. At home she gets 95% on the ipad and computer, but in the real test no luck yet.

I starting too worry now....... as you all know the new Life in the UK test starts 25 March, with new questions.

Can anyone help and give me advice on what we can do now..... please.

Please forgive me if this is in the wrong form...

My Wife and I are living in the UK, and she is on a Spouse Visa, she arrived her 5 Sept 2010.

She has a Joint Bank Account with myself, her own Phone Contract, part time job, NI card, and her name on the water gas electric bills. Everything is in her married surname ( my surname ), only her passport is in her family surname.

Can she get a provisional driving licence ???

And if so what documation is needed ???

My wifes flight is from Heathrow London UK - Thailand BKK

So I am looking at a cost of £50 - £100 ???? For an extra suitcase of a weight of 20KG ???

This must happen all the time to other people ??? Would love to hear what I can do.

GULP !!!! Oh my Buddha.. So am I correct in thinking then it is 60 USD which is £37.48 per KG .

So any extra suitcase which weighs 20 KG would cost me 20KG x £37.48 = £749.60

Looking at the table, am I correct in thinking that, Thailand is Zone 2, and the cost is 25 USD which is £15.61 for each KG over the allowance ???

I thinking I must have this wrong, because an extra suitcase could weigh 20 KG, so 20 KG x £15.61 = £312.20 ...

I remember last time when I flew with BA, I could go online and add extra suitcases for peanuts....... Im confused.... ...

I have booked a flight for the wife to go back to Thailand from Heathrow London.

With EVA Air, she can have hand luggage bag and a suit case. but I would like her to take another suit case.

Does anyone know the extra cost for this???? And have a contact phone number. Been looking on there web site and cant make head or tail of the table.. Dum Dum LOL!!!!

I sent the manager and email and spoke to him explaining our story. The manager had a board meeting in Saturday about this situation.

I received an email Saturday saying Sorry for the mistake. I must say the manger was very professional about it. So all good then.

They also said they don't accept Bank statements and Mobile phone statements any more. has to be council tax billing gas electric .

With the Quote above. it says you have to bring your original UK marriage certificate . that's ok if you were married in the UK. But we were married in BKK that's why we have a spouse visa.

I spoke to the manager at the test center. He said they Don't accept any marriaged certificate from abroad. ??????? And this is new from UKBA. ???? I told him that also my wife has already sat that his test center and already done the test but failed.

Also, this is the second time my Wife went to this test center, the first time she went and sat the test ok, but failed. I gave my wife the same paperwork just updated bank statement.

So you can see I am sooooooooooooooo confused

My Wife told me that on her passport she only looked at her passport information at the front of her passport. She didn't look at her spouce visa stamp, which in the type section spouce has my name and date of birth.

I'm living in the UK with my Wife from Thailand. She is here on a Spouse Visa, we got married in BKK May 2011.

Her Spouse Visa & Passport is in her name before we got married.

While she has been here for 8 months now, she has Joint Bank Account, NI Number, Doctors, and a part time job all in her married name ( my surname ) .

She went to do the Life in the UK test today, but got refused because her passport has a different surname on it, from all other documents. I gave them : Joint Bank Statement, Her Payslip, Married Cert, GP Registration, all in her married surname.

I spoke to the lady their at the test center, she said, " the photo id surname has to be the same as her postal address postcode "

What do I do now???????? can i change her passport surname to mine here in the UK????? Or do I change all her documentation with everyone to her old surname????? PLEASE SOMEONE HELP !!!!
