British man fined 5,000 baht for naked stroll on Krabi beach
Stupooey replied to webfact's topic in Krabi News
Just in case anyone on here is thinking of jetting to the UK to check out Brighton Naturist Beach, I would point out that it is actually EAST of the main beach, towards the Marina. West would be Hove, where nudity is definitely a no-no. -

Why not both? Ah yes, they've done a deal with each other. Silly me. -

Alternatively, the doctors have done a remarkable job keeping him alive for so long with such life-threatening diseases. -
They all play. Israel are ranked 62nd in the world, Denmark 78th and India 86th, so just not very well.

Move Forward Scores Surprise Victory; Pita To Become PM

I think you'll find that the Conservative Group is, and always has been, the largest in the House of Lords, although obviously not as large as in the days of hereditary peerages. Bear in mind also that the Tories have won recent elections with about 42% of the votes in a turnout of less than 70%, so in effect have had the backing of less than 30% of the electorate - hardly "overwhelming"! -
Liz Truss will 'deliver' on Boris Johnson's tax cuts, says Kwasi Kwarteng
Stupooey replied to CharlieH's topic in World News
Blair's error on Iraq was to get in bed with the Americans and go against EU policy, something which we may see happening more frequently in this post-Brexit future. The Tories of course were 100% behind him, unlike the Lib-Dems and a third of his own MPs. -

As I remember it, Tories were 100% in favour of the invasion, whereas all Lib Dem MPs and a third of Labour MPs voted against. -
(UK) Ambulance services branded on brink of collapse

The use of the word "chum" in this context. Okay, perhaps more condescension than insult, but still not acceptable. -

Quite why you have quoted me on this and then completely ignored the point I made is beyond me. However, I do agree with RayC regarding people's obsession with Abbott, a Labour backbencher and hardly the embodiment of the Party. I am not a particular fan of hers, but she is far less of an 'embarrassment' than many Tory MPs, not least the erstwhile leader of the Party, whose immorality and dishonesty are a disgrace. -

Cut the insults and admit you are just manipulating statistics to fit your argument. -

Both parties get kicked out eventually. Between 1945 and 2010, when they were last 'kicked out', Labour were in power for 30 of the 65 years, not far short of half the time. You conveniently forgot about Ramsay MacDonald's governments, but facts never get in the way of a good Tory story. -

You are very quick to lay blame on Tony Blair and Labour, but then attribute the deterioration of the NHS on Trust status, the brainchild of Thatcher and the Tories. A hint of political bias, maybe? -

I didn't realise that BJ had added groping to his other misdemeanours! What I said was that both he and Webbe were morally unfit to be MPs, although you seem to have the facts wrong re Webbe - the suspended jail sentence was reduced to 80 days community service, the acid allegation was thrown out by the judge as being a lie, and the other woman involved is 59 years old, so I suspect the offspring, who were allegedly to be the recipients of photos, are not 'children' in the sense you were implying. Her crime was harassment, with the judge describing her as 'untruthful', a word often applied to BJ.

Many responses here, but not one person is saying what they are doing to address the problem. All over Thailand people are running capture/neuter/vaccinate/release programmes to address the stray0 dog problem. They are restricted simply by lack of funds, so we regularly contribute money and food to one such programme. Over the years we have also adopted 12 stray/unwanted dogs, two of whom have gone to the great kennel in the sky, but we still have ten. We keep them within our grounds, and make sure that any escapees are supervised, although only the local chickens are ever in danger. If all the keyboard warriors were spurred into action, the stray dog problem could be reduced considerably, although it needs a radical change of attitude before the problem of the unrestrained owned dogs is solved.
