If the soldier who led the coup in 2014 does not go to jail, why should Thaksin?
Why not both? Ah yes, they've done a deal with each other. Silly me.

How many people do you know that spends 100 days in the hospital? Those doctors are really bad and can’t diagnose his problem or there really isn’t a problem. TIT.
Alternatively, the doctors have done a remarkable job keeping him alive for so long with such life-threatening diseases.

They all play. Israel are ranked 62nd in the world, Denmark 78th and India 86th, so just not very well.

Pita intends to amend Section 112 along the lines proposed by the late King in 2005. Has anyone from the Senate or those parties who will not join the coalition ever explained why they are opposed to the reform, as by doing so they appear to be placing themselves above the Monarchy?

We have the same problem in the UK with the House of Lords which is loaded with lefties. Despite the overwhelming success of Tory governments in elections, they can't seem to redress the balance. I don't give much for the success of the new Thai govt in this respect.
I think you'll find that the Conservative Group is, and always has been, the largest in the House of Lords, although obviously not as large as in the days of hereditary peerages. Bear in mind also that the Tories have won recent elections with about 42% of the votes in a turnout of less than 70%, so in effect have had the backing of less than 30% of the electorate - hardly "overwhelming"!

One would hope that by 2028 the human race would have advanced enough to exclude all violent sports from the Olympics, as opposed to introducing another one.

Blair's error on Iraq was to get in bed with the Americans and go against EU policy, something which we may see happening more frequently in this post-Brexit future. The Tories of course were 100% behind him, unlike the Lib-Dems and a third of his own MPs.

And the other one doesn't? How about the illegal invasion of Iraq for starters?
As I remember it, Tories were 100% in favour of the invasion, whereas all Lib Dem MPs and a third of Labour MPs voted against.

If the intention is to target so-called 'quality' tourists, shouldn't they be bragging about how few they are attracting rather than how many?

The use of the word "chum" in this context. Okay, perhaps more condescension than insult, but still not acceptable.

It’s symbolic. If you can’t fix a small issue you can’t fix a big issue.
I support leaving her there. She embodies the party perfectly and ensures they won’t return to power.
Quite why you have quoted me on this and then completely ignored the point I made is beyond me. However, I do agree with RayC regarding people's obsession with Abbott, a Labour backbencher and hardly the embodiment of the Party. I am not a particular fan of hers, but she is far less of an 'embarrassment' than many Tory MPs, not least the erstwhile leader of the Party, whose immorality and dishonesty are a disgrace.

Fuel bills, is the UK the only one having the problem, no...
Is your rant socialist bias, well, yes, but you forget, socialists have been in power just 30 of the last 120 years, they always get kicked out, now why is that, I wonder......????
Both parties get kicked out eventually. Between 1945 and 2010, when they were last 'kicked out', Labour were in power for 30 of the 65 years, not far short of half the time. You conveniently forgot about Ramsay MacDonald's governments, but facts never get in the way of a good Tory story.

Exactly totally agree with you on that and who changed GP contracts for the worse of the general public? Tony Blair and Labour.
I was a Paramedic for 40 years retired in 2018. Average waiting time pre Covid anything up to 3 hours before hand over. When I first started call delays before allocation were up to 1 hour in early 80s. And I’ve worked I worked in London and 5 county services. NHS. Is a shadow of its former self. Mainly I believe because of Trust status. You are very quick to lay blame on Tony Blair and Labour, but then attribute the deterioration of the NHS on Trust status, the brainchild of Thatcher and the Tories. A hint of political bias, maybe?

Webbe was expelled from Labour for threatening to send naked photos to Children and also threatening to throw acid over someone and getting jailed , that's rather different to groping someone
I didn't realise that BJ had added groping to his other misdemeanours! What I said was that both he and Webbe were morally unfit to be MPs, although you seem to have the facts wrong re Webbe - the suspended jail sentence was reduced to 80 days community service, the acid allegation was thrown out by the judge as being a lie, and the other woman involved is 59 years old, so I suspect the offspring, who were allegedly to be the recipients of photos, are not 'children' in the sense you were implying. Her crime was harassment, with the judge describing her as 'untruthful', a word often applied to BJ.

Like Claudia Webbe's acid throwing threats?
Or Dawn Butler's race baiting?
Or Fiona Onasanya's perverting the course of justice and subsequent jail sentence.
Those 'be kind' Labour politicians are so pure by comparison ???? .
There is no doubt that both major Parties have MPs who are morally unfit for the role. The fundamental difference seems to be that Labour expel them from the Party (e.g. Webbe), whereas the Tories elect them Leader (e.g....I'll leave to your imagination).

Many responses here, but not one person is saying what they are doing to address the problem. All over Thailand people are running capture/neuter/vaccinate/release programmes to address the stray0 dog problem. They are restricted simply by lack of funds, so we regularly contribute money and food to one such programme. Over the years we have also adopted 12 stray/unwanted dogs, two of whom have gone to the great kennel in the sky, but we still have ten. We keep them within our grounds, and make sure that any escapees are supervised, although only the local chickens are ever in danger. If all the keyboard warriors were spurred into action, the stray dog problem could be reduced considerably, although it needs a radical change of attitude before the problem of the unrestrained owned dogs is solved.

It's as if the west is only just beginning to understand that this is what it is all about. We can't expect objectivity from the BBC but I see they at least say "Separatists in the two regions, which historically have strong ties to Russia, broke away in 2014 and are now fighting alongside Russian troops to take full control" - that must have stuck in their throat. Of course, it's not just 'separatists' who have strong ties to Russia but the statistical majority of the population in the Donbas (why is everyone refusing to acknowledge that point? - it's what the whole conflict is about!) and they will all want to see the 8-year civil war with Ukraine resolved.
It's a pity that Ukraine did not do the decent thing in the beginning, which was to give them independence or at least a referendum, and thereby prevent this mess. Given the way Ukraine has treated the Donbas in recent years it's a fair bet the population will choose to join the Russian Federation after liberation, which, if we call ourselves democratic, should be applauded by everyone in the west.
As I understand it, nearly all the Russians in the Donbas region have moved there from Russia in the last 100 years or so. Whilst the USSR existed this was not a problem, but following the liberation of Ukraine they had a choice: either assimilate with the Ukrainians or return to Russia. Instead, they chose to rebel. This is what the whole conflict is about. Expansionism by stealth, which has been the policy of the Russian Federation since the break-up, is another way of putting it.
