Ramed? Is that the same as raided?

More terrible news for the whiners. Of course that will not stop them from trying to spin this into something else to whine about, as the comments clearly show.
Whiners or winos?

It would be interesting to know if the car had manual transmission; if so, it is easy to understand how it rolled backwards under the control of a driver who had never been taught the hill start. Even in an automatic car, drivers lacking experience of driving up (and down) steep hills can get into difficulty. On more than one occasion here, I have had to take over the driving on hilly terrain from a driver used only to the flat (such as Samut Prakan, where these teachers came from). Alternatively, as I note they were on a religious trip, maybe it was an 'Act of God'.

The greatest beer run ever? Presumably running away from Hua Hin when they found they couldn't get e beer there.

Breakfast is my one exception to the rule to always eat what the locals eat, as I find the standard Asian breakfast - finishing up the leftovers from the night before - does not necessarily give the energy boost the body craves first thing in the morning. My standard breakfast has become a bowl of yoghurt mixed with honey and whatever fruits the garden is supplying that day (mango, papaya, banana, pineapple, jackfruit, star fruit, mangosteen, plus a few others known only to the indigenous population), topped with muesli. Followed by toast, butter and marmalade/jam, all washed down with freshly ground coffee. So good that I now have to make it for 'er indoors as well.

An 'ox' visa? Is that what you get if you replace the sick buffalo?

Why is it always "Thai people" Why not Thai's? i'm british and we say Brits, never add the people at the end as we already know what we are ????, Always hate hearing Thai people, Thai people, Thai people.......Worst is when they say "We Thai people"............. irritating, Makes them sound stupid...............
Oh sorry the news....Well stay shut then i don't care.....................???? I'm looking forward to 6 month in Tbilisi Georgia from Nov, with 0 anything to get in there with NO!! restrictions and you get one year visa plus way cheaper than silly over priced Thailand.
Perhaps they say "Thai people" because (like about 80% of posters here) they don't know the plural of Thai. It is of course Thais, not Thai's. Just as you would write Brits, not Brit's.

This will likely will change again by this afternoon. There seems to be little logic to the decision making, other than previous years tourist level arrivals (which fly's in the face of quality tourism). I see no link with any "Covid Risk Assessment Protocol" - My new acronym begins with C and ends in P - figure it out.
To answer your question (in the brackets), the sandfly is in the face of quality tourism.

Today's, James Bond ant' what he used to be, maybe the next one should star Mr. Bean.
I think your first suggestion - having an ant play Bond - may be the best way of reviving the series.

Probably sound logic to go down that route. I fully intend to boost my two AZs with a Moderna or Pfizer jab, but not until everyone who wants to be vaccinated has had their two shots, of course.

My wife and I were blissfully happy for 30 years. Then we met. Seriously though, we've now been happily married for 21 and a half years, so I suppose we've racked up 43 between us.

I found the series started getting repetitive with 'From Russia With Love', so I gave up on it then.

Good people do the right thing and follow the orders of their betters without question.
The graveyards of history of full of bad people who didn't follow the orders of their betters without question.
They all deserved what they got as people must always do the right thing no matter what if their betters order them to do it.If you are a good person you shouldn't have "betters".

The USA and almost every country in the world are backward countries?
Of course. Police should be there to prevent violence, not promote it.

The surprising thing to me is seeing the French in fourth place. One would have thought that they would have been more attracted to the countries in the old French Indo-China, where they would have a chance of being able to communicate in their own language (I've found myself before having to speak French in Laos to make myself understood), and also be able to appreciate the baguettes! For every Frenchman I've met in Thailand there must have been about 20 Scandis: perhaps the latter don't buy condos.

Any backward country that allows its police to be armed must expect its police to be shot.

please expand, what countries with better year round weather that are interesting?
Looking at the post I was replying to, the only reference to weather is 'heat' being shown as a negative. I could easily find 100 countries that are not as hot as Thailand. There is also no reference to Thailand being interesting or not, and anyway interest is in the eye of the beholder. Judging by some of the replies on this thread, the most interesting thing about Thailand would appear to be the availability of prostitutes, but I suppose if you like that sort of thing, then that's the sort of thing you like!

When I moved here in 2005 the list of positives would be so much longer, I am in too deep here now.
I may have only been here since 2009, but in my experience very little has changed that is not Covid-related. Apart from the imbecilic government of course, we can agree on that one.

Positives;
1. It's not England.
2. It's not PC.
3. It has no woke culture.
4. Feel more free in some cases, eg I can drive my car how I want to drive it, I can say what i want
Negatives;
1. Food
2. Heat
3. People, making noise with no regard to neighbors
4. People, burning everything
5. Burning season
6. Immigration
7. Over development
8. Moving goalposts
9. Thailand is cheap is a lie, only cheap if you want to live like a Thai and not enjoy proper food, drink and entertainment
10. Ever changing landscape
11. All my favorite venues are no longer there
12. The Chinese
13. Nice cars are too expensive
14. The Indians
15. Imbecilic government schemes
16. Developing country means how you find it won't be how you experience it a few years later
17. Prices of fun
To name but a few.
You could probably find 100 countries in the World with all of your positives and few of the negatives. Why choose Thailand?

While the Government agencies in charge ran around kowtowing to the new Government and not paying attention to their jobs. All of a 'sudden', it was oh <deleted>, the reservoirs are full. We must open the gates and the Bangkok Governor said, not through my City and Province.
It was just an absolute failure by the bureaucrats not taking care of their business.
The problem in 2011 was not so much that it rained throughout the year, more the fact that the rains continued into November, by which time the reservoirs were already filled to capacity. Bangkok certainly didn't escape, only the eastern side of the city was spared as they were desperate to keep Swampy open. The difference this year seems to be that the flooding is natural rather than man-made, so it has arrived earlier in the year.

“Just get the jab so I can go back to my normal life”. Life will never be the way it was again. You’re signing up for a lifetime of oppression and many, many more jabs. Israel is already on their 4th jab. =D
Don't be so condescending. Of course people know that 'this will never end', but what mass vaccination is doing is doing is reducing Covid to an influenza-like level of severity. Bearing in mind that about half a million people die each year from 'flu, which has been considered "acceptable" in the past with no need for lockdowns etc., it should be perfectly possible to return to some sort of normality as soon as there is sufficient protection. That may well mean a need to have a booster jab each year, just as many people have 'flu jabs.
