Good to see the ever trusted NNT have edited the original photo in this story that showed two people not wearing masks ????.

As I said in another thread, the pubs (or should we call them restaurants) on Suk 33/1 were all open, all serving booze and all packed on the weekend. I was very surprised to see it.
Seems like these types of venues are all back to normal now.

The fact that this country actually has an Anti - Corruption Committee is just laughable.

The Mazda 2 Sport is a nice city car with a very good quality interior. The Suzuki Swift is fun to drive.
The Yaris looks ugly inside with too much cheap hard plastic - in my eyes.
Agree with the Mazda 2. Ours has been great over the last few years and a decent size.

Looking at Sukhumvit 33/1 on Friday the pubs were in full swing with absolutely no social distancing going on. I was in Herrity's and The Royal Oak and it was almost like nothing had changed.

If people have good memories of the government, that will help the government drive the country forward

An already socially distance culture, common use of masks due to high pollution, strict rules enforced and generally followed, the weather and climate has been the main factors. Add in some serious luck too with all the Chinese tourists still arriving up until late February.
If you look at the countries around Thailand they are the norm, not the anomaly. 'Decades long effort' is completely false.

A man who on many occasions has been photographed sleeping during government debates is now taking over the party. Tragic.

That seems a realistic estimate, unlike some of the nonsense we have heard from people like the Tourism Minister.

They really are becoming desperate trying to push the EEC in every way.

That is a huge number. Will this impact the ridiculous market prices here? I doubt it.

Not really wanted to comment on anything relating to these things in America, however this seems like it is now getting out of hand.
The video I saw showed the man sleeping before resisting arrest, using physical force against the officers and finally steal their taser and then point it at them. I don't agree with the gun laws in that country at all, however what he did certainly did not show someone that was supposedly, ''never presented himself as a threat," "never displayed any aggressive behavior" and "did not pose an immediate threat of death or serious physical injury."

Let's be fair, the numbers may be far higher (similar to every country), but one thing you cannot fault them with is the policies that the people here have followed.
Just look at the scenes in the UK or USA with people doing whatever they want with no social distancing, no masks and places pretty much open like normal.

Absolutely. It is clear this guy is a serious player and I am guessing he has a lot of dirt of this regime and the establishment that he could share if he was 'wronged'.
Like another poster said, the secret story online about him is very telling about who he really is.

You have got to hand it to him, the man is a classic wind up merchant. He must sit there and laugh after making some of the comments in the article.

This whole charade absolutely epitomises this government and Thai 'politics' to a tee. I use the word 'politics' very loosely.
The man is a convicted international class A drug smuggler and has also been found to have fake qualifications. Yet he will most likely remain a government minister.
It is the sort of thing you would see in a satirical comedy, yet here it is actually real. Farcical.

I wouldn't expect much to come of this. Airbus pulled out pretty sharpish and although not necessarily connected, having a near bankrupt national carrier in THAI does not look good.
Then add in all the other issues in terms of unstable politics, health and safety standards, worker skills etc and any proper company doing their due diligence would walk away from this EEC 'hub' project.

Some of the things he says are absolutely correct. There is absolutely nothing, and I mean nothing, this government has shown in regards to developing and sustaining a growing economy.
Investment is steadily leaving the country and their big chestnut of the EEC looks like nothing more than a dream. The sorts of ideas they are coming up are laughable (chim shop taste whatever), but that is what you can expect when the government are ran by guys that have spent their life in the military and posses no economic or political skills.

Why is nothing ever done to start to correct these abhorrent stats? 69 people in one day is utterly unbelievable. It is like a daily terrorist attack in its numbers.

Sadly, I think we all know that isn't the case. Thailand has been unable to become anything other than mediocre (apart from tourism). Can it survive? Of course. Can it develop and thrive? No.
Despite being a country perfectly positioned in Asia and not decimated by war in this generation (e.g - Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma etc), they have shown that they cannot create an economy based around any form of innovation and technology with skilled workers.
Unfortunately, I believe Thailand needs China.

Given the go ahead to open on Monday for what is technically 4 1/2 days ????. Only 50ish % of the students across the three classes in the year group I teach are planning on coming back.
