DUH...we’re treated like sheet- We may have a visa but have to report every 90 days to immigration; looked upon as “ting tong farangs” to rip off &the strong baht makes most things seem expensive.
I agree with most, but the strong baht is great for expats earning a western salary here. My UK pension contributions are far lower than a few years ago. Not so good for retirees etc though.

In terms of being an affordable place that offers a good lifestyle then that is definitely true. However, pollution and the constant immigration nuisances are things that seem to be getting worse over recent years.

Again, not a bad idea. However, will they have any plan to implement this properly, or will it slowly die out and never be mentioned again? I would say the latter, sadly.

Must be fake news. This seemed to be arguably Thailand's greatest ever idea in recent press releases.

He said that if the sector spends more every quarter, this would boost economic growth and people’s confidence.
I am no economic or business expert at all, but I am pretty sure that is not how simply it all works.

Not sure, Penny Blacks was still there not too long ago as I sadly ended up in there until about 5am.

reduce air pollution and improve safety on the roads
That quote is absolute gold. Nothing to do with the bikes, vans, buses etc currently on the roads from the 80s.

No surprise there. This man wouldn't be anywhere near his status should Thailand finally begin to realise that a military have no right to be involved in politics in the 21st century. He would just be another no mark bootlicker in an army that has never battled in a war in recent history.

As others have mentioned on here before, it is a very simple process providing you submit all the required docs and evidence. My wife got a 10 year tourist visa within a few days.

I am not sure a military dictatorship that rigged an election to continue undemocratic rule deserve best wishes from anyone, whether we live here or not.

A good idea yet again by the FFP. They seem to be a modern thinking party that this country needs to progress.
However, will they be allowed to change the society here? I doubt it.

These crossings are a death trap here. If they don't mean anything under Thai road rules then what is the point of them. Why has Thailand copied them?
There is one outside my work which nobody pays any attention to.

Academics call for “Dream Constitution” that truly reflects people’s aspirations

I always laugh at Constitution Day in a country that has sadly had the most constitutional changes in the world in modern history.
