  1. In Phuket (my wife has a dependent visa) they are satisfied with a copy of marriage certificate in english language or with a translation to thai certified by your consulate / embassy. But each immigration office seems to have its own rules.......
  2. Any particular suggestion for good thai food in Rawai ? To find a good thai restaurant I usually go up to Chalong or Parlai (Kan Eang 2, Kan Eang Pier, Mor Mu Dong, Parlai,......), or maybe to Sabai Corner. Any alternative suggestion would be mostly appreciated
  3. Knowing very little about what happens, and has happened, in other countries seems to me to be frequent in many countries, even in very large and important countries, not only in Thailand. And the results have been seen and can be seen.
  4. Me and my wife started again the process (after the 2020 covid mess), in the 2021. Both entered in Thailand with a non O 90 days visa. Went to the immigration (Phuket) asking for the usual one year extension. In my TM7 the reason for extension was "retirement", in her TM7 the reason was "dependent". The usual stuff of documents and copies plus: - Certificate of marriage translated in thai - A nice picture of both in front of our house From a formal point of view they should give first my extension, and only later her extension based on mine, usualy they do in the same time. Please note that I go with the income letter from my consulate, and my declared income is more than 800,000x2=1,600,000 baht. Unfortunately I do not know what is the minimum requisite using the bank method. No additional waiting time for approval, or else, is required
  5. But if the landlord files the TM30, he needs your visa type and expiring date too.
  6. To fll the TM 30, your landlord has to write down your visa type and the expiring date of your permission to stay in Thailand.
  7. Does your local Immigration office ask you to keep the TM30 slip inside the passport ?
  8. Because the DTA states that I have to pay taxes in one of the two countries, not that I do not pay anywhere !!!! If I don't pay anything, my home country can ask me to pay taxes, fines and interest on my pension......
  9. Yes, on the basis of the Double Tax Agreement between my native country and Thailand, beeing fiscal resident in Thailand, I can pay the taxes on my pension here. My pension is paid free of tax from my country of origin and I pay here, at a lower rate.
  10. What is the meaning of keeping posting messages saying : "I have been asked for my outbound flight (or visa)" or "I haven't been asked for my outbound flight" ? By now, from dozens and dozens of direct experiences reported on the forum, it is clear that the exit flight sometimes can be requested, and sometimes not requested. It means that he airline "may" ask it. At this point everyone has been warned, then everyone takes their own risks and decisions.
  11. Every year I fill my form PND 91 at the local Revenue Office (Chalong - Phuket) with the help of the revenue staff. I simply show them my bank book with the foreign remittances deriving from my pension and only these are included in my declaration. Absolutely no mention about other non taxable income.
  12. Keep in mind that the 30 day extension, while you can count on it, is not officially 100% guaranteed. This is why the airline requires you to show an exit ticket from Thailand within the first 45 or 30 days you will be allowed upon entering the country.

    Night taxi

Apart from Grab, which is the best way to find a taxi in the night, if you stay far from the night life ? Is there any radio taxi correct and efficient service ?
  14. I suppose your visa is not yet used and it has been issued around the 23th of January. As far as I know the visa validity for entering the country is three months (so you need to enter in Thailand before 90 days from the visa issuing) but they will give you 90 days more from the day you enter the country.
  15. Ah,ah, try to explain this to the Immigration Officers, when they discover that you do not have the TM30 in order and are fining you ????
  16. I answer to myself : The cheapest that I found, for the moment, is FWD with a 700,000 baht coverage and a premium of 1,050 baht for 60 days and 1,500 for 90 days. https://dxbpqg5e40reb.cloudfront.net/thgi/FWD-TH-EN-Brochure-Covid-inbound.pdf Acceptable age up to 85 years Waiting period of 14 days or negative PCR test 72 hours before the inception of the policy. I suppose that the insured period should cover until the date of expiring of the personal staying permit in Thailand, plus 7 days If anybody has other info they will be welcome
  17. Since I am going from Thailand to India for a couple of weeks, it seems that I will need an additional insurance before coming back to Thailand. (also if I will not go back to India.....) I am already covered for health problems, but my coverage is not recognized as an "insurance". So I will need to buy the cheapest and simple policy that satisfies the last Anutin's thoughts. Any suggestion ?
  18. Sorry for you !!!! Stupidity of immigration, they could have let you enter again to Thailand under visa exemption and exit after one day ????
  19. For many years I had a house in India and I traveled a lot in the country, visiting also different beaches (all Goa beaches, Puri, Mahabalipuram, Kovalam, etc.) I disagree with your impression above, or at least I agree only partially. The level of cleanliness of Indian beaches is certainly not exciting, for sure generally worse than the Thai one, but it is very easy to make a video by framing only unacceptable details and collect a few likes. The same can easily be done in Thailand as well. I live in Nai Harn, and I think I could make two videos: one where Nai Harn beach looks like the most beautiful in the world, one where it looks like the most crowded and dirtiest beach in the world. I believe that even in India you can have pleasant holidays on the beach, moreover India has many other interesting things to offer the tourist who does not just stick to a beach. I think a lot of people on the forum have a tendency to be too radical: something is either white or black. Often there is also the gray color. But this, of course, is only my personal opinion
  20. Of course the large umbrella can help, but I know that most of the temperature loss in swimming pools is due to water evaporation. It may be a crazy idea, but why not try a large fan that skims the surface of the pool?
  21. I am going from Thailand to India for a two weeks trip. When I will be back to Thailand, also If it is not my intention to go again to India for a while, I will need to have an additional Covid insurance. Unless, of course, at the check-in I do not find an intelligent person that understands that I will not come back to India, will not need a test and would not need an insurance. Mission impossible !!!!!! Did anybody find some details about this insurance ? (Covid only ?, maximun amount...)
  22. Maybe popabear knows better than us his personal situation and is enough responsible to decide by himself
  23. I am going to India for a couple of weeks and later will return to Thailand. I am fully vaccinated and my health expenses are covered by a health fund financed by my professional organization. But it is not an "insurance" and it is not accepted by Thailand. So I would like to avoid unnecessary thai insurance policies. For this reason, and because I like to know what is appening in Thailand I posted my message. Could I do it ?
  24. I read today on Bangkok Post this Mister Anutin declaration : "Visitors arriving from China won't be treated differently from travellers from other countries, they must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and hold an appropriate health insurance policy." Does it means that a new insurance requirement for people arriving from elsewhere is coming ?
  25. But still it appears that you have to check-in at domestic terminal. Maybe it depends on the airline but, for my next flight HKT-BKK-HAN, both with Thai/ThaiSmile I have been told to go to the domestic.
