  1. Not sure if the info you received is 100 %. however err on the hide of caution as a friend of mine received his o'50 visa in LA (USA) and was advised that he could get it renewed in Brisbane (where he was domiciled at the time of renewal) guess what, Brisbane rejected his application. So if I were you I would try and make the effort to get it in Oz, if that is possible and fits in with your plans. If you have the time mail your application and all the relevant documents to the ACT and use the express mail. Just to give you my experience, I mailed mine from far central Qld to Brisbane on the Tuesday and it was back at my PO on the Thursday. get all your stuff in order and a bank cheque, or company cheque and send it express next day delivery with the same return postage paid envelope so you get your passport back post haste.

Thanks Taffy, i will try through Canberra.

When Brisbane was 'up and running' i never had any problem, just had to return in 2 hours and there it was.

  2. I am back in Brisbane and have contacted the Thai Embassy in Canberra inquiring if i can get a non imm 'O' for over 50's

in Melbourne, they sent me a reply telling me YES!

However Melbourne tells me that they cannot issue an over 50's non imm 'O' from that consul.

This gets confusing, however someone has told me that i can get one in KL on my way back. Has anyone done this.

  3. walk in walk out same day for multi entry business, where in Aus?

Not too many questions asked just show them a letter sending myself on a business trip. Anywhere?

Now Brisbane has closed down you will have to do your own research .

Maybe try the Perth consulate for a walk in/walk out "easy" , no questions asked, visa ?

Its a 5 hour flight from Bris to Perth, maybe Sydney easier or Melbourne

  4. This is reading like an Alfred Hitchcock novel.

Just catch the red shirts and get it over with.

No need to bother with evidence or proof or anything like that!

Just out of curiosity, how are you going to spin your way out of it if it turns out to be totally unconnected with the red shirts?

Well, my partner who is a Suratthani supporter of Khun Suthep, tells me that without doubt, it was the Redhirts..........so there

  5. Costas 2008 Do you post ur thoughts on ever topic posted or am I dreaming give me a break really

i agree it is monotonous and boring to hear this 'old junta lovin' man' give his Greek 'wisdom' about EVERY subject under the sun

give it a break 'old man'

I spend a lot of time reading Thai Visa. I'm a cripple who spends a lot of his time on the net. However no way can I compete with Costas and his posts. You can go to almost any subject in this forum and be absolutely assured that Costas will have replied probably within a few minutes of the OP having posted. I honestly don't know how he does it, being logged into ThaiVisa must certainly take up a considerable portion of his waking hours.

Please dont consider this post as 'flaming' another member. it's not,I just wonder how Costas does it. Maybe he is determined to win 'poster of the year' this year which he missed out on last year.

Yes , but win "Poster of the year" one first has to post something sensible

  6. No, old man, you went wrong in your life.

There is no excuse, “I don’t want them to worry about me”.

I'm nearly your age, but I never lost contact with my children and grandchildren.

You give them love and you will take it back tenfold from them.

You ignore them and you will be ignored.

In an ideal world, Yes Costas, but we do not live in an ideal world, so although you may be one one the lucky ones. You are also a dreamer

  7. Laughable,

Yes they check ID and Photograph it

    Yes they look underneath

But they do NOT look in the back of pick-up trucks.. Two times now when I have visited.

This is a 100% failure rate for security measures

This week, my friend on Samui was stopped and searched. The police told him to open the seat of his motorcy. He was about to open the luggage box on the back, but was told not to and waved on. clap2.gifcheesy.gif

  8. I'm beginning to suspect that all is not well inside the German airline industry. First, you have a group of Germanwings pilots refuse to fly their planes after this crash. Adolf Galland, they're not. And, now, the keys to a plane with 149 people on it being given over to a 28 year old just two years out of the company flight school. Soft, soft, soft. Not exactly the same sort of stuff that went into Ernst Udet, who had the decency to do himself in while alone. These Germans seem emotionally fragile, sloppy, and downright weak.

    What a load of nonsense!!

So because of one nutcase you classify all German pilots as emotionally fragile??

    Are you German....................................coffee1.gif

Actually its good that the pilots did not fly.. they might have felt stressed after this accident. They lost two coworkers who they might have known well. Stressed people make mistakes.. that is something you don't want on a plane. So in a way they chose for safety.

If you loose close co worker in general it will impact you and sure you can act tough and step over it.. but if that causes you to make errors. That would be real bad.

(just speculating here on the reason but seems valid enough)

I dont want a pilot that cant deal with stress 24/7 no matter how emotional he may be.

Like that amazing QANTAS Captain who at one stage lost all 4 engines but still got them safely down.

  9. If you have not heard back from them by now, perhaps call your bank and cancel the credit card details....

I have ever heard of this company either....

Why not try Air Asia direct.... they usually have cheap flights to where you want to go!

Finally got a reply 24 hrs late, saying they have no more seats at this price, so have booked with another company $A60 more, but have peace of mind.

Yes Jimmy, Air Asia do fly 'low cost' to Brisbane, but that is to he Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise) which is about 80 klm south of Brisbane, so not worth it. My final destination is 60 Klm north of Brisbane.

  11. Has anyone had any dealings with this online booking company ?

Yesterday i booked a flight through them, they gave me a booking number plus flight details, but have not issued a ticket and i cannot get any reply from them. Dont know what the hell is going on.
