  1. Around the end of August I will be going to C.W. Immigration for my 90 day report.   Since I have never submitted a TM30 I suspect that they will want me to complete one at that time.    My Thai wife is the owner of the house in which we live.     In another post I was informed that she does not have to go to Immigration and I can file the TM30 on her behalf.   My question is are these all the documents that I should take with me and do they want copies of these documents.

    Wifes ID card

    House registration book

    Title deed?

    Completed TM30 form

  2. In a earlier post concerning the TM 30 I asked  if I could file it for my wife (she owns the house where we stay) and save her having to go to the Imm Office in Chaiang Wattana.

I was told I could do this but she would have to give me a power of attorney.     Where does she get the power of attorney or can she just sign a note authorizing me to file the TM30 for her?

I was only speaking about the food.

On that note I highly recommend the Shack in Jomtien Complex run by the old Rich Man Poor Man people. I haven't tried their ribs yet but the 1/2 chicken and especially the BBQ beef brisket were excellent. It is a street restaurant though but they do free local delivery. They are weak on sides options though. Location same street as Tinnies pies.

Where exactly is The Shack?    I am not familiar with Tinnies pies.

Your TM 30 should have been filed as soon as you landed in Minburi. Do it now. Depending on which IO you are attending, you may get a grilling or fine when/if you submit the TM30 with the 90 day report.

Thanks for the reply.     Do  you know if I can file the TM 30 without taking my wife?

  5. I was in the USA for two months in April & May and upon my return did not file the TM 30.    I have been on the 1 year retirement extension for the past 20 years.

My 90 day report is on 26 August and at that time I was planning to file a TM 30.    My wife is Thai and we live in her house in Minburi.   I was going to have my wife complete the TM 30 and I will take it with me when I do my 90 day report.     Does she need to go to Immigration too or can I file the form without her?

Are these the documents I will need when I file the TM 30:   House registration, house deed, copy of wife's ID?   Does Imm require a copy of each form?

Copy of my passport and visa.

    Thanks for any helpful replies.

In the same vein, geriatric or male ward orderly in a home or hospital.

Maybe the airport will have a need for land side bi-lingual passenger assistants. That could be fun and interesting.

Soi dog foundation, or other animal rescue, if you're into that.

Nice to read an actual helpful reply rather then the normal BS as posted above.

Can't help you but I'm in the same boat.  Though that list is exactly what I had last time at Mo Chit (6 years ago).  Specifically I'm wondering if the DLT will still accept the embassy letter for proof of address, and if the US embassy will still issue these letters?

    Andy,

I just renewed my license yesterday at Minburi, Bangkok office.     In addition to the documents that I listed above you will also need a copy of your old license, front and back.  Cost B555.    And yes the US consulate is still issuing this letter.

  8. Thanks for the replies.     I use Chang Wattana Imm office.     I haven't been to Immigration since I renewed my visa in March so no one has asked me anything about the B 800,000.   My 90 day report will be in late August so maybe somebody will check then.

Also it looks like I am screwed as far as doing the monthly income as I should have started the monthly trasnsfers in April 2020.    So looks like I will again have to go the B800,000 route next year (April 2020) then start my monthly deposits in April 2020 then in April 2021 I will have 12 deposits .

  9. My 5 year license comes up for renewal in mid July.    Since it was 5 years ago when I last renewed can anyone advise if this is still the paperwork I will need for renewal:

    1.   Embassy letter verifying address

    2.   Passport and 1 year visa and a copy of each.

    3.   Old license plus renewal fee

I will renew at the office in Minburi, Bangkok.    I remember 5 years ago I went there early and the place was packed so thinking might be better to go after lunch?

  10. In mid March I renewed my 1 year extension using the B800,000 method.     My new extension is until 11 April 2020.    Am I correct in thinking that I can withdraw B400,000  on 12 July 2020 without problem?     I will then top off the with another B400,000 in January 2020 in preparation for applying for a new extension.

  11. I have a March/2015 Honda Jazz with 39,000 km on it, that I purchased new.    The tires still look great but my Thai neighbor said I should think about getting new tires since these are over 4 years old and although the tread is good he says the sidewalls could be a problem.    What do you think?    New or hang on to these for another year?

  12. In mid March I renewed my 1 year retirement using the B 800,000 method.    My extension is 10 April 2019 to 2020.    On  6 April I went to the USA and returned on 27 May.   So now my 90 day report date is 26 August.     When should I go to Immigration to show them that I have the B400,000 in the bank?    Or should I just go to Imm on 10 Jul;y which would be 90 days after the extension was issued?      I am dealing with Chiang Wattana Imm office.
