Chaeng Wattana immigration do not normally ask for a TM30 form.
Yes the receipt for the 90 day report.
You could do the 90 day report and a TM28 form at the same time.
So it would seem it may not be necessary to make 2 trips, one with a TM30 and the second with a T28 and to do the 90 day report. I should only make one trip when I do the second 90 day report mid December together with a T28. It seems that it is not necessary to notify them before my 90 day report of my change of address. Could there be any hiccups? Is this correct? Sorry to sound repetitive, I want to make sure I understand. Thanks for your advise Joe. Much appreciated

You will need a to do a TM28 form when you do your 90 day report to formally change your address to Bangkok if the agent did the last one at the office that issued your extension. Be sure you have the receipt for that report with you when you go to immigration.
Download: TM28 Change of Address
Thank you. the agent suggested I may need to register my address now (TM30?) prior to doing the next 90 day report (in December). Is this correct? Can I change my address (TM28) on the same day as the 90 day report? Do you mean the receipt for the last 90 day report? I have it. The way I understand it I have to go to immigration soon with a TM30, then on the day of the next 90 day report do a TM28 and the report together.

12 month extension based on retirement (non imm o visa), obtained through an agent four months ago. First 90 day report was done by agent. Agent now advised me that I need to contact my local immigration (I live in Bangkok) and register my current address as immigration now no longer allow agents to do the 90 day report on behalf of customers. The agent obtained the extension from an upcountry immigration office. My questions are, what are the requirements for registering my address and could there be problems at immigration given the above?

90 day report (first one) done on a 12 month extension. The copy of the 90 day report has been misplaced. Should I panic?

Where would you do 90 day reports ?
By post to NE or on line.
Would TM 30 TM 28's come into it?
The company has advised they will do the 90 day reports for me. Regarding reentering Thailand via the airport, I assume that immigration officers would take note that the address on my TM forms may not match the NE address on the retirement visa and that this may in turn cause a problem.

Considering going with an agent to apply for an extension on my non immigrant O visa (based on retirement). The agent I contacted advised that the address registered for me will be in North-east Thailand. I presently live in Bangkok. Could anyone advise, based on experience, if this may present an issue when re entering Thailand with the boys and girls in brown at the airport immigration counters in Bangkok?

Currently on a non immigrant O visa based on marriage, I will change to a one year extension based on retirement. My question is, I live in Bangkok but I sometimes go and stay at my wife's home in Udon Thani. Can I apply for the one year extension at a provincial office such as Roi Et?

That would not be a problem if multiple entry visas are still available there.
You could also get a single entry non-o visa about anywhere based upon marriage and then apply for another one year extension at immigration.
Thanks. You are extremely helpful. One last question. Given that I have been on several non imm O visas based on marriage for the past 10 years or so, if I suddenly switch to a retirement visa will is there likely to be any eyebrows raised by immigration officials at the airport if I travel? I have heard they can be awkward at times. I mean, will they find it unusual that I have changed to a retirement extension rather than marriage extension?

I will be getting a new passport in the next 3 to 6 months. How do I go about transferring a non immigrant visa based on retirement into the new passport? Thanks.

The only visa that comes close to being a retirement visa is a OA long stay visa you would have to apply for in your home country or country of legal residence.
You can apply for a extension of stay based upon retirement at a immigration office. You will need 800k baht in a Thai bank for 60 days or proof of 65k baht income by way of a income letter from your embassy or a combination of the 2 totaling 800k baht.
You could also apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage. It requires 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income.
Thank you. If I leave Thailand in the future and then come back after a few years I assume it would be ok to go back to Laos for example and apply for another non imm O based on marriage, that is, after having a retirement extension for 1 or 2 years?

I have been using non imm O visas based on marriage to a Thai for the past 10 or 11 years. I have just turned 50 and am thinking about changing to a retirement visa mainly because I am starting to not enjoy doing the 3 monthly "runs". My questions are:
1. Has anyone done this and if so, are there any problems/negatives in doing so?
2. If I wish (at some stage in the future) to stop using the retirement visa and apply for a non immigrant visa based on marriage again, can I do so?
Thanks for any advice.

Have you been getting multiple entry non-o visa from a embassy or consulate or a extension of stay at immigration based upon marriage?
You will have difficulty getting a multiple entry non-o visa from a embassy or consulate based upon retirement.
I have been getting multi non O's from Savanakhet....probably 4 or 5 in total. Have never extended at immigration.

I have been on several non immigrant O multi visas for the past 15 years, based on marriage to a Thai. I have recently turned 50 and have the option of applying for a retirement visa. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to changing to a retirement visa? Logistically or otherwise? Thanks for any feedback.

He will need to apply for a border pass and pay the fee for it.
At Savannakhet the office to get it is located just before the bridge on the left.
Thanks v much. Is that the office where the Laos visas are applied for? Right next to the immigration counters?

Thanks for the info everyone. Just a side note, if her 8 year old son joins us, can he also come across to Laos? He has a Thai id card, no passport. If he requires a border pass can this be obtained right at the border?

If your wife has a Thai passport, just use that. If she is entering using her Thai identity card, she can get a three day temporary border pass from an office next toThai immigration at the Friendship Bridge 2. There are small payments to be made on both the Thai and Lao sides (in addition to the bus fare). [This was correct a few years ago, and I can see no reason why anything would have changed.]
Thanks for the info. Do you know if she has to get a Laos visa? Normally this costs me around 1300 baht. I don't know if Thais need to get one and if so, the cost.

Hello all, I will be going to Savannakhet to apply for a non immigrant O visa based on marriage to a Thai, my wife wishes to join me. She has a Thai passport. Can anyone advise what she needs to get across the border into Laos.....border pass, Laos visa? And where she can obtain a border pass and at what cost. Thanks in advance.

Currently have 3 multi entry Non Immigrant O visas in my passport, based on marriage to a Thai. Going to Savannakhet to apply for a fresh one shortly. Wondering if there has been any reports of difficulties in obtaining/refusals on entry to Thailand as a result of having more than 1 of said visa in one's passport. Thanks for any advice. J.

You would need your passport and your marriage certificate to get one yourself.
My wife gets a new updated one every year before I apply for my extension of stay based upon marriage. Never gotten one myself.
thank you.

If you have your original marriage certificate they do not ask for a Kor Ror 2 marriage registry.
You may of not gotten the Kor Ror 2 when you registered you marriage.
The Kor Ror 2 is 2 or 3 pages long. I have a copy of one but it would be a lot of trouble to redact all the personal info on it.
If you want one you can get a printout of it at any Amphoe for a fee of 20 baht. All your wife would need to get it is her ID card and a completed request form to get it.
Thanks. I have the original certificate. If I want to get this document, can I get it myself with a copy of the mrs's id card and without her with me?

I have read a recent post that officials at Savannakhet wanted to see a copy of a Kor ror 2 document before issuing a non immigrant o visa based on marriage to a Thai. I have never been asked for this document on 4 or 5 previous trips to the consulate there. My questions are: 1. What does a kor ror 2 look like? I cannot find one from my marriage 12 years ago. Can someone upload an example please? 2. Can anyone confirm that this is now a required document? 3. If I cannot find the original, can I get another one? Thanks in advance.

Four trips to savanna and never been asked for a Kor Roi document. I do not think this is required unless things have changed.
