Update.
Straight through immigration in less then ten minutes.
NOTE:
The new xray scanners are being installed but not yet operational.
Appears as though you will get your bags from the carousel and take them to the machine.
Well done. No questions?

I'll be entering Swampy in about 2 hours on a non O multi entry that I obtained in Savannakhet in August.
Let us know how it goes.

I have been here for 12 1/2 years, last 8 or so on Retirement extensions, I arrived back from a week in the Philippines on Wed and my passport was given the 3rd degree by a woman IO who called over 2 others to look at it as well, not entirely sure what it was all about, she never actually said anything to me about it, but I got the impression they were scrutinising my address.
Suvannabhum or don meung?

Ive posted before about this. Just after any updates. Currently 3 non o multi visas plus a retirement extension in my aussie pp, current non o multi obtained from savannakhet 5 months ago. Have been basically living in thailand for 16 years on the non o multis. No tvs or voa. What problems may I face when flying into swampy next week?
-
All good points. I wonder how far back the pp holders records stretch on the io's computers at swampy....more than 10 years?

nah, nobody cares, I've done 10 back to back in the last 2+ years, stamp, stamp in.
They may ask you why you're coming here (as it doesn't specify on the VISA itself), just answer "to visit my wife".
I have 3 non o multi visas in my pp plus an old retirement 12 month extension, current is a non o multi based on marriage. I anticipate some questions at swampy next week. Exactly what im not sure.
-
So you entered with a non o, the io "tried to take you to a room and asked you many questions" Could I please ask what the questions were and what nationality you are?
-
Lots of topics about rejections at Swampy and Don Muang airports for people with tourist visas, any reports of problems for those with more than 2 multi o visas based on marriage (plus 3 or 4 Laos visas) in their passport. And, any reports of io demanding to see 20k with holders of such visas?

Leaving bangkok to Australia....back to thailand in 2 weeks. Currently on multi entry non imm o visa. Do I need a reentry permit for thailand and, will I need to show 20k on reentering thailand?

Nonsense
Two blank pages are more than enough to enter and leave the country. I would guess he has space on other pages for the entry and departure stamps.
The above is assuming they are pages for visas and not marked as being for endorsements and etc.
Yes. Actually have 2 pages total...the last page and 90% of the second last page, which has 2 stamps on it. The 3rd last page has room for 2 more stamps.

Immigration at airports doesn't care about this, it's not their job.
When you are back in BKK let your landlord submit a TM30 for you, from then on everything is correct in their system and you shouldn't have any problems with it.
Thanks jackdd. If I do not do a tm30 immediately and go to immigration 3 months after the wp is granted to do a 90 day report, what are the likely ramifications?

Australian pp. Have 2 blank pages left. Already have valid non imm o visa. Any dramas entering Thailand with only 2 pages remaining?
-
Why are the bangkok airports far more stringent than the land borders (with the exception of 1 or 2 of course)?

Fly into Laos and then enter tbrough a land border. Takes more time but better than a rejection.

I don't think there is any need for his Thailand visit history. Thai IOs have become very adept at spotting people living in Thailand. I think bottom line is they really don't care if you have money or not, working illegally or not, they're simply trying to reduce people living in Thailand on Tourist visa. People with self respect will stop living in Thailand on Tourist visas but addicts will sneak in trhough land borders.
How about those living here on multi o visas (marriage) or retirement visas?

That is the re-entry permit for what is called the smart visa.
If lose you job or leave it your smart visa would end on that day.
Not sure you would be able to change to an extension based upon marriage without leaving the country for a single entry non-o visa.
If possible it would mean having the smart visa canceled at the one stop center and then going to Chaeng Wattana immigration to apply for a extension based upon marriage.
Maybe a bit off topic but if one were to cancel a work permit while a non immigrant o multi visa were still valid would the non immigrant o visa also end on the day the work permit was cancelled....even if the non o visa still had 9 months validity?

Currently have non immigrant o visa (multi) based on marriage. I have 3 non immigrant o visas in my passport and several Laos visas. I am in the throws of applying for a work permit. My visa prior to the non o was a retirement visa obtained through an agent which registered my address in an upcountry city. My current address is in Bangkok. I have not as yet done a tm30 nor tm28 to advise my change of address. My questions are, if I go back to Australia and re enter Thailand soon with my non immigrant o visa, will I have problems at the airport in Bangkok given the 3 non immigrant visas in my pp and, on applying for the work permit or subsequent 90 day reports, will there be issues because I have not as yet advised my change of address? Thanks for any advice.

Currently on non immigrant multi O visa valid untill April 2020. My company in thailand intend to apply for a work permit for me. My questions are: 1. If the work permit is successful and then cancelled prior to the expiration of the visa, is my visa still valid till the visa expires or is it also made void at the same date the wp is cancelled? 2. Should the application for the wp be rejected, is my visa affected? Thanks for any advice.

She is leaving the country 2 weeks after her visa expires. So yes she can expect problems.
Exiting prior to the 9th and reentering on the 23rd. My initial post was ambiguous.

Korean friend, current ED visa ends on the 9th of October. 1 ED visa in passport. No other visas. Will be exiting and re entering Thailand on the 23rd of October without a visa. Should she anticipate any problems at the airport? I think Korean citizens get 3 month visa exempt but I'm not sure about that.

I am on my 3rd non immigrant O ME, all obtained from Savannakhet. I have been living in Thailand with wife and child for more than 3 years and current passport is full of in and outs mainly via Laos every 3 months. I have not done an extension of stay. I would expect there may be questions at either of the airports upon entry should I choose to go back to Australia and come back to Thailand.
-
There have been plenty of reports of problems coming into Thailand by air with more than 1 tourist visa in passport, I was wondering if anyone has or has heard of any problems entering with a non o multi entry visa based on marriage?(I have 3 in my current passport).
-
Last month obtained a multi entry non immigrant O visa based on marriage. I understand that I may apply for a work permit on this visa, my question is, if the work permit is approved, will the duration of the work permit be for only 3 months (up till the next entry permitted stamp) and will I then need to apply again or, will it be valid for the duration of the visa?

A visa cannot be transferred. You have use both passports on entry to the country if you have a valid multiple entry visa in your old passport to use it for entry to the country until it expires.
On the first departure from the country you will show both passports and immigration will stamp you out of the country in the new one after transfering your entry stamp to it.
Thanks Joe. I have 2 questions; 1. If I can do this at the border near Nong Khai, is it specifically done at the border or do I have to go to a separate office near the border? 2. If I have not done a tm30 (i have a multi o based on marriage), will this be an issue when having the stamps transferred at the above location?
Thanks again.
Entry to swampy on non o after staying long term.
