  1. Good points raised on this thread.

In particular, i would go along with categorizing in four sections because it does blatantly favor forwards.

That is why they pick the team of the year also biggrin.png

  2. Ronaldo IS the best footballer in the world right now and that is what they were voting for...simple really.....everybody has there opinion but Ronaldo's form and scoring record is astonishing.

Well done and i congratulate him...well deserved.

  3. Are they planning a march through Bangkok?

Or perhaps a lunch meeting at the Hyatt to discuss the matter?

    Lol

Get with it smokie didn't you know Bangkok is the hub of the British working class(silly) hero now and all things EPL.....And last but not least Moneeeyyyyy!!!

See there is a connection tongue.png

  4. Strange post, strange place to post it and very old news......I wish United had Ronaldo and Messi plus a few others at whatever money they wanted as i there payments will not bother me.

It is definitely not regarded as silly by the British public a tad of jealousy in an open market maybe but where this thread will end up if it is not closed is probably better served in the footie forum i think...don't you?

  5. Loiuse i think it is worth talking to your travel companions about which of the five countries the three of you want to visit the most and maybe pick three and do them and if you have the opportunity again to come back and maybe do the other two or three next time you could then give each country some time to experience the differences and also not be so rushed..

I think Vietnam and Laos are well worth a visit if you have never been also Cambodia although i agree with Craig that 2/3 days in Siam Reap and maybe one travelling through Pnom Pen is sufficient.

Totally agree with Richard travelling is all about the experiences and sights you take in ...Laos has something that is difficult to explain although the people and the culture are similar to Thailand it IS different.

You could very easily spend so much time travelling that it becomes more of a trek than a back packing holiday and your experiences of each country would suffer through tiredness and travel and not being able to stay in a place because of a tight schedule forced onto yourself through wanting to pack so much in...you could very easily travel through 5 counties here and see hardly anything trying to condense so much into a short period (25 days)

Chat with your friends and go through the routes mentioned each one of you should be given the freedom to see what they want and the others should be in agreement before you depart.

    Vietnam you will love.

  6. Well you have to take into consideration the travelling involved also....Hanoi to Luang Prabang and then Vang Viang on the way down to Vientainne maybe stopping a day in each and the evening depending on bus times over into Thailand Nong Khai 1 night or maybe Udon Thani then bus over to Sukhothai 1 day and night and then up to Chiang Mai for 3/4 days??? haha that is the fun of travelling isn't it! when things don't go to plan lol.

Make a good plan but be flexible and easy going practicing it.

I have not been to Myanmar but personally i would spend a week there because the travelling i assume would be slower and longer and i think i would like to take in a lot of the country that we are able to visit at the moment remember there are still parts that we cannot go to.Also you mention your friend has never been to Thailand so you might have to also think about that.

  7. Why spend so much time in Thailand if you have been before,i would not drop Vietnam on the strength of Thailand especially as it is a really wonderful place to visit and plenty to see and do.Just use Thailand as a starting and finishing place a couple of days either side and split the rest of your time into the other countries maybe .....although Nong Kai to Chaing Mai can be done.

    An Idea for you....

    Arrival 2 days in BKK

Train to Cambodia...Siam Rep 3 days on to Phnom Phen 2 days

Vietnam 1 week bottom to top then into Laos 4 days.

Into North East Thailand up to Chiang Mai 5 days or fly to Myanmar for a 5 day trip instead

    Back to Bangkok 2 days

5 countries in 25 days to do this a lot of planning needs to be done beforehand ...have a great trip!

The best bit is it is cheap to do this route and if you miss out Myanmar ...no flying!! wai2.gif

Forgot to add on a tight budget i would miss out Myanmar until next time and the rest of the trip is great for getting buses and accommodation cheaply and would be better suited to your needs you could get the bus from Nong Khai to Chiang Mai in a day and also break the journey up here for a day or two

  8. I could play in goal for Bayern with a team like that in front of me Neuer is a great goalkeeper but half the time doesn't need to do fekk all.

Ronaldo all day long, nobody to touch him.

    Blatter is just a bell-end.

probably you haven't watched the World-Cup then....

NEUER is probably the best and smartest goalkeeper the world has ever seen, but no doubt Ronaldo is an outstanding player since years who just has the misfortune to be part of a rather mediocre national team.

so, while I would like to see NEUER win the award, I rather assume RONALDO will be the one and it is okay too...... a goalkeeper's merit will never look as spectacular as those of a forward scoring goals

Whether i watched the World cup is irrelevant and just further proves my point as that month he was goalkeeper for the best team in the World.I am not saying Neuer is not deserving of the title and he will probably be in the top five,it is just that Ronaldo is on a different level to anybody else and his record at Madrid (not just this year) is amazing...how many hat-tricks?

  9. Kosa and the Thani Princess are both excellent and just 1200 baht a night.

The free airport transport and breakfast makes the first day a no brainer.

As for action Khon Kaen has little of that apart from a few Farang bars near the Kosa.

If only you knew.....and i never go to the farang bars. smile.png

Enjoy your stay in Khon Kaen.

  10. Just been listening to TalkSport and guess what the cost was of Rochdale's starting 11 against Forest?

OK, I'll answer it then tongue.png £0 The starting 11 consisted of either free transfers or players that had come through the youth system.

I'de say in the lower lg's certainly div 2 and the conference ,.players moving on transfers with fee's attached are the exception rather than the rule. It may come as a shock to prem fans note i say prem not football fans, But The stark reality is they aint got any money and most are barely surviving.

Sent from my GT-I9000 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Blimey Rijit, you know how to pour cold water on it don't ya. Rochdale are in Div one and I know in the lower leagues there are many free transfers and youths in the first team but I thought it was a nice and unusual story that they fielded a starting 11 of a total cost of zero.

You would think it is nice and unusual if you follow Cidy biggrin.png

  11. Half 4 bleedin kick off, in Cambridge......!!

Who the F thinks of these times.?!?

Train back from Cbridge will get reds back into Manchester at 04:30. (That's am)

And yeah don't worry, I noticed its via Kings Cross, and most of us will be getting off there anyway. [droll]

    redrus

From what I have read, 7 55pm kick off and the last train back to Manchester will have left before the game has finished.

Friday..7.55pm ...Crazy day and time for a game in the UK never mind for us in Thailand,i am sure they could of picked another game that is more supporter friendly than this.Liverpool v Bolton for instance or brighton v the arse.

No thought for the travelling fans anymore from anyone including United...only TV money.

I wouldn't mind but the television money is peanuts to United ....obviously not to Cambridge.

The FA TV fee is £72,000 per club

Winners receive £67,500 from FA prize fund

  12. Any stranger that comes to my house doesn't get through the gates to come near the door.... when they see the dog running at the gates they get off quick enough.

They either want money or information and they get neither.

Are you in House Arrest and in Bail Custody or what? Recluse perhaps? Just living the life???clap2.gif

No! ....just not a mug who talks to uninvited strangers wink.png I don't mind if you feel the need though tongue.png

  13. there's a truly staggering amount of tedious, unfunny prick behaviour going around this announcement. football fans are really mostly total whoppers.

    You mean thick tossers, right?!!

What should be being discussed is the comparison in the careers of Gerrard and Dalglish. Both outstanding but under very different circumstances.

Think i give the nod to Dalglish but its testament to Gerrard that there is talk of the two.

For the record i think his timing in leaving is right as is his destination. Good luck to him.

thick tossers is one way of putting it carmine mate yeah. unfunny, tedious bellends would be another - my twitter feed has got arsenal fans quoting unfunny chelsea songs about a gerrard mistake handing the title to both of their rivals, man city. it's mental stuff.

this lad achieved more in a hundredth of one percent of his career than every one of these pricks will ever have done and the abuse and pavlovian unfunny sh*te just makes me sad really. he's had a spectacular career, has been a brilliant (though i've never really liked the term) ambassador for his club and country and i'll bet every one of them cheered his goal in munich and various other things when he was wearing an england shirt. the english league will be immediately poorer without him.

he's scored in a european cup final - possibly the greatest european cup final - and then lifted the european cup afterwards for his hometown, boyhood club. he's an ordinary lad from huyton who became one of the best footballers in the world and has achieved extraordinary things. what've you lot done lads?

    I licked Giggs's arse wink.png

  14. Oh lighten up guys.....you don't think that every teams star get a rollicking.....?

    .

Rooney's probably going to end up as the highest scorerer in history of club football, thats recognized, but there are also as many jokes about him going around as goals his scored.

    .

Where's the Scous humor gone...... you can certainly dish it out on the terraces when I used to travel up there..

Anyway if you feel you have had a disappointing Christmas, just remember, someone somewhere was unwrapping a Tottenham shirt. .....wub.png

    Bring on the Arsenal jokes........

    Rooney's a granny shagger with a face like a baboons <deleted>!!

And yes, some young lads unwrapped their new Spurs shirt and wore it for the first time for the Chelsea demolition. What a splendid way to end the yearthumbsup.gif

So it was you on stevieH twitter feed! whistling.gif

  16. cheesy.gif your quoting a journo clap2.gif

Break clause lol more like santa claus .....embarrassing it just gets worse and smells even more when they are trying to cover it all up.

    move along now. tongue.png

Manchester City have extended Frank Lampard’s contract with the club until the end of the season following 48 hours of negotiations with the Premier League ahead of the expiry of his short-term deal at the club.

The 36-year-old was due to officially become a New York City FC player on January 1 after agreeing a move to the newly-formed MLS franchise — owned by City owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan — in August.

But after scoring six times for Manuel Pellegrini’s team since moving to City, the former Chelsea and England player has thrashed out a deal to remain at the club until the end of the season and will therefore miss the start of New York’s inaugural MLS campaign, which begins in March. Lampard’s failure to complete his move on schedule provoked an angry backlash against both the player and Manchester City from football fans in the United States.

New York City FC fans' group Third Rail said fans who had bought season tickets and merchandise had been betrayed. A fans' statement said: "On behalf of the Third Rail, we would like to publicly denounce City Football Group's and Frank Lampard’s decision.

Many fans, including our members, decided to support the team, committed to season tickets, and bought merchandise under the impression that Frank Lampard would be playing for New York City Football Club, not Manchester City. Many of those fans are rightly outraged by this decision, and we support any course of action they take to voice their discontent over this decision. We reject out of hand any suggestion that NYCFC is in any way secondary to Manchester City FC, regardless of the source, and are disappointed that City Football Group would give such an appearance."

    Related Articles

Respected American football writer Grant Wahl described the decision as a “debacle”.

Wahl said: “New York City FC having Lampard from day one in year one was a measuring stick of how seriously Manchester City owners took MLS and NYC fans. Answer: They don’t. The only thing New York City could do now to save face with fans over thLampard debacle is to make an equivalent signing to start the season.”

City confirmed Lampard’s agreement in a brief statement on the club website shorly after 9pm on New Year's Eve. The statement said: “Manchester City can confirm that it has extended Frank Lampard’s contract up to the end of Manchester City’s season, enabling his continued participation in both domestic and European campaigns.”

City had been involved in lengthy discussions with the Premier League after requesting permission to remove the break clause in Lampard’s contract which was due to come into force at midnight on New Year's Eve.

With his short-term deal — Lampard was not on loan at City, as initially suggested — due to expire yesterday, City faced the problem of having to re-sign the player before the transfer window officially opens at 12.01am on Saturday.

But with the Premier League satisfied by the paperwork submitted by City, Lampard was cleared to face Sunderland on Thursday and extend his stay at the club for a further six months.

City had risked a possible points deduction had they fielded Lampard against Sunderland without the necessary clearance from the Premier League.

Officials at New York City FC sought to put a positive spin on the absence of their star signing but admitted they still did not know exactly when a player who had been due to join them on the first day of 2015 would actually do so.

A statement said: “His exact starting date with New York City FC will be confirmed as the EPL and MLS seasons unfold. All parties remain in ongoing dialogue to create the best outcome for all.”

New York City FC director of football Claudio Reyna, who palyed for Manchester City, said: “Frank is a star and it is no surprise that Manchester City is rewarded by his contributions on the field every single day. He is eager to get to New York once his commitment ends in England and will be available to play on arrival.”

MLS Deputy Commissioner Mark Abbott added in a league statement: “Frank Lampard's performance at Manchester City reaffirms that he is one of the world’s elite midfielders and we look forward to him joining NYCFC during the 2015 season.”

  17. Surprised that I did not get a considered and well-argued justification of the jointly owned feeder-club issue.

What I got was the cliche that is used by all sub-par performing restaurants and hotels - "well, nobody else has complained".

This is an issue for football, not just a clannish fan thing. I'll remind you MancCs that I agree that the Champion's League formula that sees Arsenal get a top slot every year works unfairly.

Thinking supporters do not need to defend their clubs to the death in compromise of their own judgement. That's not a personal attack on Bo - I see it so much on the threads and there are a lot of thinking supporters on here

Very true Santi it seems the citeh lot are the only ones who don't see what everybody else is seeing now.

    It is bent and stinks.

  18. Deary me are you losing your marbles in your old age ? tongue.png what has Falcao got to do with it?

Was he loaned from a club that is owned by United? NO!

Has he extended his previously agreed loan deal? NO!

That is the crux of the matter isn't it any other loan deal is done by the parent club and with there own best interests of the player comes first....NYC bought Lampard and did have the power to call him back as they are the owners of him and there season will soon be opening......now listen carefully this is were it gets very dirty and smelly.....City own NYC and have overridden this agreement so he can stay at City which was the plan i would say from the beginning.

Therefore not giving two hoots about the fans of NYC.

Is the French clubs football season and pre season training about to start? NO!

Did United sign Falcao from a club that it owns to get around the FFP restrictions that were placed upon them due to breaking the rules last season..................A BIG FAT NO!

I hope it is clear now and you understand facepalm.gif

To make it clear for you Gerrard has just announced he is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season....if he goes to LA Galaxy then fine you could loan him and it would not be considered as cheating.Or are you going to sign him as well for NYC and loan him back to City!!!
