Earthquake Rocks Bangkok: Building Collapses with 40 people inside
alex8912 replied to CharlieH's topic in Thailand News
It HAS to be. But their construction of slightly older buildings is not good at all and they collapse a lot after earthquakes. Millions and millions of Japanese live in older buildings. I wouldn't want to live near a nuclear plant in Japan. They are also AT or right near the epicenters of quakes , not 1000 kilometers away. I lived there 2 years and I saw MAJOR damage. -

US Revokes 300 Student Visas in Crackdown on Campus Protests
alex8912 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
People need to stop thinking that having conditional visas = citizenship. There's literally whole lists of reasons people can have their visas withdrawn and no they DON'T fall under "free speech" and they DON'T have to give them warnings. Trump " may" suck, but that's literally the rules for every visa and green card. It's on the immigration website. It's why they ask specifically if you support any terrorist groups or foreign orgs/factions that can be flagged while you're here. It's been that way for YEARS. A ton of pro-Palestinian college kids on visas got way too comfortable thinking that "free speech" shields them from things and forgot social media is forever!! She is from Turkey as well. She should know better with all her degrees! -
Yet every 7/11 sells cigarettes!!! 1/2 your facts have not even been proven true for e cigs. Not enough time for real research. I liked being on the beach today near several e smokers. Soo much better than cigarette smoke.

Bangkok's Water Festival to Dazzle in April with 12 Venues
alex8912 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Silom is a great place for Songkran. Have you actually been there the last couple years or just before COVID? If you haven't why bitch about it? I think it's a very different atmosphere than Khao Sarn and many places in Pattaya. I think a lot of opinions about Songkran over the years are just old men complaining about everything. -
Delaying Cataract Surgery - Any associated dangers?
alex8912 replied to ravip's topic in Health and Medicine
Hi. Many posters mention this. But do you ( and others ) mean not able to see well with prescription glasses? Or just with your eyes only? That's what I'm confused about on this thread. -

Do you have proof United EVER flew non stop from anywhere in USA to Thailand? Where did you hear this new info? As far as I know only Thai air had non stop flights, they were New York City JFK to BKK and Los Angeles LAX to BKK. -

Weight Training or Cardio? Finding the Right Balance
alex8912 replied to CharlieH's topic in The Wellness Zone
Weight training is best. Can definitely increase weight amounts in your 50's and 60's + 3/4x a week best. Sure cardio ok too but everyone older seems to constantly complain about back pain, hip pain etc and never lift weights regularly. -
Songkran 2025: Thailand's Water Festival Returns
alex8912 replied to CharlieH's topic in General Topics
Hopefully Pattaya will get all 21 days April 1 to 21. Can't wait to hear from all the whiners who know this is coming a YEAR ahead of time and still will stay and hide under their beds and of course complain about getting wet 💦💦💦if they go outside. Just enjoy! Great holiday. -
Historic Drop in Illegal Border Crossings Following Trump’s Crackdown
alex8912 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
It's 2025 now not 2012. Groundskeepers are not maids as well as others mentioned, such as a Nannie's and home care workers. Your whole post is BS!! You are Queen of the gas lighting today! Congrats! I also just read more of your comments on this thread and realized you too have a serious syndrome. It must actually be painful to go through the day with so much hate.
