  1. I've been to South Florida five times in the last fourteen months and rented a car each time. Great highways, 70mph most places, no tolls on 95 and easy to navigate. Sure avoid rush hour if you can ( isn't that the same everywhere?) I don't find highways around Bangkok and to Pattaya or Hua Hin really that bad either. Maybe the crazy drivers are mainly in Isarn.
  2. She obviously answered one or more of those four questions wrong. They can ask questions that seem to have nothing to do with entry and people fail. Usually always saying what they think the other person wants to hear.
  3. Yes about Thailand pass. Or a new system that is in place? Will they wait until the third for this info?
  4. A little less panic on this forum might bode well with the health ( including mental health) of members too. Don't you think?
  5. The simple fact you did all of this WITHOUT a smart phone deserves some sort of award ????!!
  6. Totally agree. I'm in the USA and of course hear all the jokes about fat Americans etc on here and elsewhere. I however SEE a different America where I live and shop just slightly outside Boston. Tons of people here jog in our freezing Winters. Gyms are full ( ok maybe fat people don't visit here that often ) when I go to the supermarket you'd have to really search for a fat person and at bars and restaurants the same. I'm in a bit of a bubble. Live and hang out in what are considered pricy suburbs. Many of these towns have absolutely no fast food outlets of any kind ( many ban them). Two or three towns over it's a completely different America! Fat is everywhere.
  7. I agree with fattening foods being easy to get in USA and Europe as well. It is truly a myth that healthy food is expensive and only in expensive stores. I find produce very cheap in the USA and you can make a great salad with all kinds of healthy add ons and healthy home made or store bought dressing easily for $1 +~ and cheap bottles of water maybe 15 cents or less when bought in a 24 pack and left at home. A candy bar is about $1.25 a can or small bottle of sugary soda $2.19 and a bag of small chips $2. In Thailand at any supermarket you can find cheap produce and fruit, cheap water and healthier chip alternatives. Fat kids as well as fat adults don't even THINK about this or just shrug it off. At least you can still comfortably say the word FAT in Thailand! That's a main reason the West is still getting fatter because the PC world wants to ban the word and have 11 year olds who are 200 pounds waddle freely.
  8. I know when I read "radio" ads my first thought was no one under 60 listens to the radio so of course the ads are geared to the elderly. As for TV I still watch it but have a dvr so I fast forward through ALL commercials. It's great. Lastly if your house is too close to someone else's just get some good shades ( the neighbors will REALLY appreciate this one).
  9. Jeez. I'm sorry that you and many others have to spend so much time on your holiday ( or those about to arrive in Thailand holiday ) trying to research possible ways to get home or to get back to Thailand for a visit. Let's hope this new scheme doesn't happen at least for two weeks so all of you can just come back or arrive to Thailand safely. This is really becoming sad on so many levels to so many people. It's really keep your fingers crossed ???? time and it really stinks! Best of luck to everyone. Today was the day I was booking my ticket to Thailand for Jan and booking test and go and insurance. I bet a lot of others were/are hoping to do the same and now we have more potential bad news. Grrrr
  10. There is no way Thailand can be this stupid! See you end of January. This C Virus is done!
  11. Try American again. You probably haven't in years I bet. Took a couple flights this year Boston and NYC to Florida. Nice new planes, always on time, great services Jet Blue is good too. They code share as well.
  12. That is the best Thailand Pass info for Americans for sure that I've seen posted recently. Thanks. I finally have a QR code in 3 minutes!
  13. Yes. Fir the second time OCT had a spike. Why is everyone so thick on this. I've seen that report already was lower in May/June /July.
  14. 1984? LMAO. This is scare mongering. Yes there is Subway crime and over the last 40 years some strange things. It's completely not everyday!!! Not even close to violent crime everyday. It's a safe transit system. You seem to remark on the most remote strange crimes. The big apple is a big city. I grew up outside it and visit at least 4/5 times a year. All in all it's a safe city to take the subway in. Cops let their kids ride it all the time.
  15. So you know how many thousands of small Asian woman rode the NYC subway system today? Yesterday ? Etc? How many were involved in VIOLENT crime? My guess zero. Anyways I'm about to land at JFK and take the train to Manhatten with I bet some small Asian woman. I think we will all get home nice and safe. This is why even the small petty crimes are even mentioned in the NYC news because they are pretty rare as well. If there are a few phone thefts or other petty crime at even one station in a short period of time you will hear about warnings.
  16. I'm discussing violent crime everyday on subway only. An increase has nothing to do with EVERYDAY violent crime on subways. Man!! It's increasing from a low level. So what. Many articles I know just talk about October. Just like this one. My quote was from a very similar article. Violent crime everyday on the NYC subway system is still rare. Stealing a cell phone is hardly violent. These stories get headlines because they don't happen everyday. If it's just a little violent you will even see it in the daily news. Because it's rare. You are def not in NYC a lot.
  17. Hey man. You seem to like links. Can you prove attacks like this that you claim happen daily on the NYC subway system? Or maybe it's a little non covid scare mongering? I'm in Queens soon and will be taking a train to Manhatten shortly. Thanks. I follow NYC news quite a lot. Not really interested in how many crimes a year. More about violet crimes happening EVERY day. "Crime underground is still rare. But it is less rare than it was before. Moreover, the nature of these crimes introduces an added anxiety. In contrast to violent crime above ground, crime in the subways appears to be almost always stranger-on-stranger."
  18. Add CNN....and they have sooo many news stories with their staff that they don't report on! I mean A LOT. So they just do more scare mongering instead of looking in the mirror. But I see CNN days are numbered. Turn it on now. My guess is they are discussing Donald or another negative story on Corona.
  19. Can someone please post the exact correct link for AXA insurance? It's been mentioned 10x but no link. There are so many confusing sites so I think the exact link would be helpful. Also can you buy this insurance from most countries? One other point as mentioned once is that Singapore transit does NOT allow the 72 hour window it is 2 days before you need a negative RT-PCR test. This is very important to know. And you must ALWAYS check your transit countries requirements. NO ONE traveling from USA to Thailand for example can fly non stop. It is impossible.
  20. I would have reported that Delta Air worker to the highest supervisor and let them know none of their employees should be spreading insane lies regarding CVS and Walgreen RT-PCR tests are not accepted. That employee should be made to apologize and immediately fired!
  21. I don't think the "Q" in LBGTQI is for queer lol. It used to be LBG just a few years ago it seemed. Soon it will have more letters. It's kind of getting confusing. Most gay and straight people don't know what each letter means. Most people refer to Q as questioning. I think Queer is covered in the LBG already.
  22. Sooo many reports in the ridiculous amount of time it can take for a simple 60 day visa! THEN you have to go through Thailand pass. I for one wanted to come for 60 day visa plus 30 day extension and spend a ton of money$. Now I am only considering 30 day visa exempt and extend 30 and if I keep reading about how f' ing long that is taking especially from people who don't have a QR code with their vaccine card ( like 80% of Americans don't have ) I may have to give up on that!! Thailand HAS to make these things easier. We should all contact local consulates and embassies and start putting more pressure on them. They are doing NOTHING but sitting on their butts. No one should be losing $$ on plane tickets and pre paid one night stay and have to loose this because of a completely broken system ( no system ) No "TIT " remarks. No country is acting this pathetic!
  23. He said in theory it could be 47 + hrs. Getting a test at 8am Monday for your flight out at 11pm Tuesday is certainly not 24 hours before. That's how one day before is NOT 24hrs before. You also don't have to wait for a report from your friend. Thousands of passengers will be arriving today in the USA. In Portland on west coast it's only been Monday for 40 minutes.
