Because people don’t listen to them. Look at all the attention she’s brought.

What kind of original ideas can you bring when the topic is “humans are causing climate change and can and should do something to reverse it.?

That reminds me of a reward offered by flat Earthers. They’d pay anyone who could prove the Earth wasn’t flat, the catch? It had to be an original proof, you couldn’t use anything that anyone had thought of in the past 2000+ years.

That seems to be the same criteria you’re applying to her.

    well said.

I would suggest that the illustration in this link gives a true picture. It is simply facts of what world temperatures has been doing since the last Ice Age. It is very difficult to dispute the data (However desperate you are to do so). The rapid warming since industrialisation has NO parallel. Climate changes linked to the changes in the earths orbit act over a vast time period compared to this. These effects are measurable, not a matter open to dispute.

Once again we have this topic where old men blow their gaskets over the activities of a young girl - how pathetic is that. Who she is, or how old she is, is irrelevant, it is the science that matters, she is simply pointing at the science. Anyone could do it, if she wants to do it fair play to her. Probably a good moment though for her to pass the baton. If she is that passionate about climate science, go away and study it, there is a hell of a lot to learn.

    yes.

Anyone who wants to know why people are skepitcal about climate alarmism please watch this video.  It is full of scientific data to back up the arguments made:

so, did that scientific data come from the 3 percent of the world's scientists who deny climate change?  (and i'm sure it's merely concidence that most of this 3 percent are employed by the fossil fuels industry)

Can't we just listen to the old activists that pull the strings and write the scripts for the young activists?

As if Greta ever had an original thought in her life.

i think taking every friday off from school to protest, alone, sitting on the sidewalk, for a couple of years was pretty original.

I'll keep this relatively brief and suggest you go the dedicated expatriation to Latin America thread for much more detail.

You can shop for private insurance everywhere, subject to age and preexisting conditions restrictions meaning in many cases you can't buy it. So that's similar to Thailand.

I was referring to buying in options for expats into public health care systems.

That is available in Colombia and Ecuador regardless of age and preexisting conditions. Colombia's system includes dental and meds as well. Cost is about 35 dollars a month for retired expats without local income. There is controversy about the pricing in Ecuador, for some it's only about 60 dollars and for others it's based on a percentage of even foreign sourced income.

Mexico has this publc buy in option but rejections based on age and preexisting conditions.

I believe there are some other Latin American nations as well that offer expat buy in options, but I can't speak to all nations as I don't know everything or care to know everything.

    Cheers

    thanks for your response.

Latin America. Some countries there you can:

Easily afford to live at an upper middle class level

Easily qualify for retirement visas even leading to permanent residence

Even be able to buy into national health programs in some countries

I would strongly advise forgetting about Thailand at your financial level. You aren't even really welcome here at that level.

Yes you could do it if you can afford to lock up 800k baht or pay for an elite card but you would be building a life here on quicksand.

Sent from my Lenovo A7020a48 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

i like your post.  can you mention some of those latin american countries?  especially where one can get health insurance.  thanks.

You must have sound reasons to want to do this but i can not imagine why.

I have been bald for a very long time with only a few patches left.

If i could find an affordable treatment to stop my hair from growing  would do that in an instant.Hair does not make you the person you are.

I would suggest to cut whatever you have left very short or even shave and try that for a fwe weeks. You will find out, nobody cares if you have hair or not.If there are a few who react negatively, tell them to get a life and look at their own short comings.

    Be bold and go bald!!

    excellent advice

Well that isn't a very civil way to respond to advice. Maybe you should use this type of bravado to tell these fells's where to go, or are you only brave from behind the safety of a keyboard?

did you read the entire post?

Close, I got a 2k fine for dropping a cigarette butt on Sukhumvit, have never done it since - so that fine worked.

Drinking is legal, so not sure why you mentioned it, and as for drugs, only an absolute moron would do drugs in a country with such draconian laws as Thailand.

the reason i mention drinking is because it impairs one's judgement, leads to possibly dangerous situations, especially while driving, etc.  I was trying to make a simple point:  although i am always sober and on my toes, it is quite possible to be victimized by crooked cops.  i have actually had it happen, although in a very minor way, much less than what happened to the  OP.
