Actually, that is not true. Depends on the state.
apparently there's are 2 states (Maine & Vermont) where a felon can still vote. So those 2 states are out of step with the rest of the country. As I said it's a stupid electoral system, in fact it's not even a true democracy. How can it be, when the candidate that wins the popular vote (the will of the people) gets shafted by the ridiculous electoral college BS.

This is just another example of the ludicrous electoral system in the USA. Convicted felons cannot vote yet they can run for president. How f'ing dumb is the American electoral system.

From the article:
Matthew, who has been living in the village with his Thai wife for several years, is known among the local security guards for his volatile temper and frequent disruptions.
You should really read the article properly before making a tit of yourself.
more selective editing to support your comment. You need to read the ENTIRE article particularly this section - ""Matthew's temper has always been an issue," one neighbour said on the condition of anonymity"
So as I stated and you selectively omitted again, it wasn't just the security guards who were aware of his temper, the neighbours were too.

more to the point what have you been smoking and what reporters & political commentators do you get your news from. The ONLY ones I've seen saying he won't go to prison are all the cult members, viz. FOX and the MAGA morons that believe every lie that comes out of mouth.

Theoretically he could be sentenced to life now. Max 4 years for each charge, so 34 x 4 = 136 years.

it does get much more expensive as you get to 70s/80s, i saw Sheryl saying her premium has increased to US$5k+
My premium this year was approx AUD $4,100 (THB 99,100.00 - or approx US $2,700.00) after a 10% no claim bonus was applied and having a THB 40k deductible. Next year and 2026 the premium should remain the same as the policy's renewal dates will be before my 75th & 76th birthday. The premiums will definitely increase in 2027 and should then remain unchanged for the 76- 80 age bracket unless the need arises to make a claim. My policy is for the US $100k (THB 3 million) currently required for OA retirement.

As usual they haven't given enough detail, i.e. men on women or men on men. I'd expect women to have increase cases as well
scuba, you're usually quite thorough about reading an article before commenting. However, on this rare occasion your question is answered in the OP, see the extracts from the OP below:
#1. For homosexual males, the rates are even higher, approaching 100% for both age groups.
#2. Despite the introduction of the HPV vaccine in 2006, which was initially targeted at young women and later extended to young men,
So as you can see it affects both genders

Go into the myAIS app, then click on Profile, then click on AIS Network Settings.
There you can IVR Language and SMS Language to English. If you do that, and you still receive SMS messages in Thai, claiming to come from AIS, then they are always an AIS phishing scam.
Doesn't work. My settings have always been for English for both IVR & SMS. Genuine SMS messages I receive AIS are ALWAYS in Thai.
Have even asked AIS why my SMS messages are never in English and they have no clue.

If you tell them you want SMS in English they will send them in English from now on.
Some of their staff, after having heard my Thai, changed their settings without my request so that from now on I got English SMS.
If they change the language you will also automatically be directed to the English call center if you call 1175.
Doesn't work. My settings have always been for English for both IVR & SMS. SMS messages are ALWAYS in Thai.

I have 2 AIS SIM in 2 identical phones.
One - only one - got a very long SMS from AIS with picture warning about some scam from people impersonating AIS. To read the whole SMS one would have to click on it, which I didn't do.
Best delete everything from AIS immediately and never answer calls from AIS.
are you absolutely positive about this, because I'm with AIS and they NEVER send sms messages in english, Only in Thai.

it's a scam. Ignore it & delete it after you report it as a scam.
If you've seen any of the scambaiter videos on YouTube, viz. scammer payback and numerous others you'd know to ignore this email. This is a common trick for scammers to get access to you computer.
Also the ONLY way Microsoft would contact you is if you are using Windows and Outlook/Hotmail.
If it is your gmail that someone has tried to access, then such an email would come from Google.

"In related news, an airport mix-up led a pair of British lookalikes to discover they not only shared the same flight but also the same name, sparking an unlikely friendship".
Is the journo Samantha Rose desperate for a related news item.
This particular story is at least 6 months old and was subject to it's own storyline being posted in ASEANNOW.

Actually you can still get a pretty decent high from the leaves by making marijuana tea if you know how to do it. Don't let anyone tell you the leaves won't get you high. There's actually some YouTube videos on how to do it and proving that myth to be wrong, and when I followed the same steps as in the video I was high for around 8 hours.

We made several visits since then. Once I was asked to get a letter from Immigration re my visa, which I did.( then she said it was not needed!). Then I had to get verification of my passport by the British Consulate in Bangkok, which I did.
I was told that I had to be resident at my permanent address for at least 60 days!
I was told that I would receive a phone call to further process my application. As I hadn't heard, and 60 days had lapsed, I went back to see her. She recognized me immediately and addressed me by my first name! Then insisted that I had to await for her phone call. She explained to my wife that she was very busy with registration of births and deaths etc etc.
asked to speak with her Manager. He couldn't speak English and was very abrupt to my wife, with no explanation for the delay or given an estimated time.
So we went to see the Head of the Center (Deputy Sheriff). He was apologetic and reiterated that the center was very busy. But promised to call my wife with an answer on the same day. But he never called. So we called again and he promised to speak to the Officer in charge and get back to us. But nothing so far! Except that the Manager added my wife to his Line contact!
So I am wondering how long did it take Martin or anyone, from the time of applying to receipt of the book and card?
I appreciate it may vary from area to area, but just to get a rough idea. Thanks.
I received my yellow book & pink ID card the same day I applied for it. Went to the Amphur in the morning to apply for the yellow book and it was issued about 2 hours later. Then applied for pink ID card and received it about 45 minutes later. All done and dusted before their lunch break @ 12 noon.

Most of these scam SMS messages can't effectively be blocked because there is no number associated with them. They are sent out by bulk SMS spam servers. So when you block them your phone isn't really able to create a proper block.
Best thing to do is report them to your cell phone service provider. Eventually they should be able to filter them for you. Also, if you are going to report them then don't delete them until you've reported them, just in case your service provider needs some information contained within the text message.
you may not be able to block on your phone BUT install a call blocker app that also blocks SMS messages and just add the number to the blocked list. The app will then automatically do what it's designed to. Around 6 months ago I was constantly receiving phone calls & SMS messages with Malaysia's country code. Never answered or opened any of them. Just added to the blocked list in the app and haven't received any calls or SMS messages since.
However, if you at some point delete those numbers from the blocked list in the app that will actually unblock them.

This extreme heat was being forecast almost 1 year ago when meteorologists started explaining the impact the change from La Nina to El Nino would have on temperatures.
What will the consequences be of the 2024 El Niño?
From the start of the year through to mid-2024, Thailand will face elevated temperatures and an increased likelihood of heatwaves, these being the typical outcomes of El Niño conditions. These periodic changes to the weather are driven by abnormally high sea surface temperatures in the equatorial Pacific that then cause a redirection of the current. This begins to flow towards the east of the Pacific (i.e., to South America), while trade winds weaken bringing hotter, drier weather to the western pacific (i.e., to Southeast Asia). The most recent forecast by the Thai Meteorological Department6/ indicates that this year, peak temperatures are likely to be 1.0-1.5oC above normal, which would push these above their level in the summer of 2023 and well into the zone designated as ‘extremely hot’7/. The highest temperatures will be in the north and northeast of the country, where they will reach 43.0-44.5oC, followed by the central and eastern regions (42.0-44.0oC), while in the BMR and the south, temperatures should hit a maximum of 40.0-41.0oC. Likewise, minimum temperatures are expected to be 1oC above normal nationwide. Such high temperatures are likely to pose a danger to the environment, triggering an increase in forest fires, and exacerbating particulate pollution and health problems connected to the heat. The consequences of extreme heat will also extend to include widespread coral bleaching, problems with growth and reproduction for aquatic life, and a decline in agricultural yields. This may then trigger food shortages, leading ultimately to increases in the price of agricultural products and other consumer goods.

Just mix it yourself, that's what i do, two thirds Arabica, 1 third Vietnam, it's all trial and error
seeing as you already mix your own, have you considered making a change from the 2/3 Arabica medium to 1/3 Arabica medium & 1/3 Arabica dark together with your 1/3 Robusta (preferably dark roast). An awesome flavour as a result of this blend.

I grind my own beans and do NOT buy off the shelf from a supermarket as you don't know how long the beans have been sitting there, even more so if imported beans. I use Thai roasted beans (Doi Chang grown) which I buy from my local coffee shop as I know the beans he has have a high turnover rate which means they will be reasonably fresh for grinding. I blend my beans as follows 1/3 Arabica medium roast, 1/3 Arabica dark roast and 1/3 Robusta dark roast.

Just shows you know nothing about how a real democracy works. The ONLY reason the UK, Canada & other countries (e.g Australia & New Zealand) don't use a simple majority is because the citizens are NOT voting for an individual to be the leader of their country. They vote for members of a political party in their respective electorates (that part the yanks get right) and the party that wins the majority of seats, either in their own rite or by forming a coalition, which the yanks also get right when it comes to the House and Senate, in the lower house of their parliament becomes the govt and the leader of the party (who must be an elected politician, not an individual who hasn't been elected to the parliament by his constituents) becomes the Prime Minister and leads the country.
The US electoral system needs to change how the President is elected by having presidential candidates stand for election in their own electorates and their respective party chooses the party leader from among it's elected members and the party with the majority in the House their party leader is automatically the President until either the party decides to change leader or the next election.
