Getting fast-tracked at a bank when you tell them that you're unwell isn't a problem; getting past immigration queues is.

I generate my bank statements from my online banking every year for Immigration purposes and print them (in colour) and I've never had an issue with them not being stamped or signed by the bank.

It is my understanding that someone else can do your extension for you, BUT that is subject to a doctors report being provided, along with all the usual paperwork, stating that you're ill and physically incapable of attending Immigration.

Dr Jack will either confirm this or correct me if my understanding is incorrect.

my interpretation is the same as yours, however I will wait til I have had the conversation with the aussie tax expert re the Thai/Oz tax treaty.

that's the confusion with the wording of S18. Does "State" mean the State/Country" where payment is made from OR where payment is received. That's what I'm waiting to hear about. I'm scheduled to receive a phone call from an aussie tax agent on Jan 23 with regards to S18

that will depend on your age. If you are under 65 the first 150k is tax free, older than 65 the first 190k is tax free. So it would seem that your 130k would be exempt from tax.

Was watching some YouTube videos by "Scammer Payback" over the last 2 weeks. This guy (Pirogi) is a hacker who coordinates his hacks with US Law enforcement, that hacks into scamming call centers in India and copies all their data and then deletes their files and uses the copied data as evidence to get many of the sites shut down and the scammers arrested. In one episode, in the copied victims list, there were so many Thais that had been scammed out of amounts of 1 million baht or more.

under the changes it doesn't matter when it was earned, it's now based on when you bring the funds into Thailand. Using your example, if you were to bring the 50k into Thailand after Jan 1 2024, it is income for the 2024 taxation year regardless of whether that interest was earned last year or 10 years ago.

they need to booze test their own first. My missus held a class reunion at our place on boxing day night. 5 of her former classmates that attended are police officers. They all drove here separately, but god knows how 3 of them managed to do so as they were already smashed to the eyeballs when they arrived (all in uniform because they were still on duty) and between them they consumed another 4 bottles of Sang Som whisky, and then they drove back to their police stations.

If the cops won't obey the law, let alone enforce it, how on earth can the average Thai be expected to obey the law.

just because we're in our 70's doesn't make us really old. It just means that we've had more life experience than those that are younger than us.

Subsequent extensions, eg after exit and reenter, your reenter date is day one of clock. 

Jack, why did you go off topic? The OP never mentioned or asked about extensions ONLY 90 day reporting and what the situation is if he reports early.
