  1. OP, as my Grandpappy used to say, "Don't ask a question If you don't want to hear the answer." And, since most questions are of opinions, there is no correct answer.

But, to be sincerely honest, we hate you. And everybody else.

MY grandpa used to say, "If you're sure it's just a fart and not backed up by his pals, you'll be reet" (alright) and he got through D Day and Market Garden regardless of the Yanks making an abysmal hash of both....no matter how much that lying c*nt Tom Hanks like to pin the blame elsewhere

  2. Oh my god!

I read the OP, and thought bodhisattva meant some sort of sect or something.

But no, the OP thinks he is ENLIGHTENED.

The OP is lucky that apparently there are no TV forum rules against blasphemy.

Another one for my ignore list.

Too enlightened to return properly to this thread (bar one very spurious reply) he has started apparently and reply to some of the early direct points made to him.

I think he just wanted to make some moral standpoint and show how far more enlightened he is compared to we plebs. Shame his "enlightenment" doesn't include common good manners unless his "enlightenment" isn't as enlightening as he likes to think it is....

  3. I was going to call it a night towards the end of the first half when Brazil looked like they were all over Croatia though changed my mind after the first ten mins of the second half when it looked like Croatia were really in with a shout and Brazil were Playing like Hyde United reserves on a rainy Tuesday night away at Droylesden.

So much for their much vaunted 'flair' and 'beautiful football'; didn't see much of that last night.

  4. I hope he's been mistranslated. What he meant to say was;

'We were very lucky. We were being played off the park in the second half and couldn't get hold of the ball until the ref dug us out of it (twice). We were also lucky that they forgot to bring their goalkeeper and bought a roll of carpet instead."

  5. and a Thai uses it to pull a plow, the Westerner should keep his mouth shut if all he can do is condemn this usage of the bike just because HE just KNOWS how a bike should be used.

But what if the Motorbike/Plough combination works and saves the Thai hours of backbreaking labour?

Are you going to shove your nose in then? because the Thai would probably tell you to Quack orf (missie).

  6. Just wait for Uber smart phone app to be introduced in Thailand, that will sort it all out.

London Black Cabs protesting over the Uber taxi app.

Big trouble for English Cabbies thanks to the Uber app.

I've been using 'grab taxi' (Android) for a while now. Given the sheer number of cabs in BKK it's a little pointless here but comes in handy during busy times like at pub bunging out time, if I can't be mithered standing by the road for 3 minutes to flag one down or if I want to do a longer run to Pattaya, Ayutthya (or similar) as you can negotiate a fare up front.

You need to be able to write in Thai though (or have someone on hand who can).

The Lahndahn cabs are up in arms about it because it means their greedy extortionate monopoly is now at an end.

Having lived there for several years, paying about 6-7 quid for a short trip which would cost 50-60B in Bangkok, minus having some right wing Daily Mail reading bellend rattling on at you about Faakking Cyclists throughout made me really appreciate the Bangkok taxis when I came to live here even the old yellow/black pirates.

OK you always get your bad apples but on the whole their service is a credit to Bangkok which makes living here highly tolerable, especially for those who remember the old black and yellow taxis and the villains who used to drive them - now that WAS a 'mafia'. That wasn't all that long ago (I saw one last year up at Don Muang) so that there will be drivers extant today from that era is no real surprise.

  7. Never mind losing the house or car.

In theory at least they can be replaced.
In 18 years I've had 4 friends have serious break downs.
    None drank or took drugs.
They are all well educated professional men over 50.
    3 very wealthy.
2 have had treatment, but have not fully recovered, and remain 'fragile'.
2 did not have treatment and appear unaware how much they have changed.
None of my friends in UK have lost their minds.
I've met many guys who arrived happy, but now 'hate all women'.
There seems to be a fair bit of bitterness posted here on TV.
If these guys had remained in the west, would they have turned so obnoxious and bitter?
Is it some thing in the water or some thing else?

More fantasist bilge. Don't worry about other people's mental health, get your own looked into,

Now orf you verily quack missie...
