I'm sure crowding around a TV set in some dark hole as rain bounces down all around, keeping an eye open for the authorities, with scarcely a clear view of the action, as opposed to sitting at home in a favourite chair with pals or the wife and family will delight them....

They can always read about it in the papers.
This is the biggest and most popular sports event in the world, not some local sideshow like Muay Thai or Aussie Rules.
So ! There's so much round ball on Thai TV now that it's just another game. Not everyone was born with the round ball gene.
Must be a Yank or a Rugger puff.
This is the World Cup, he only true Global Sporting event, and Thailand yet again are making a total arse of the simple task of getting it on TV. Lets hope they never find the bribe money to actually stage the event....

According to Richard Barrow it is 'most likely' all games will be shown free to air. I assume the problem most people have is with the Thai commentaries or it not being in High Definition????

You probaly see more truth about Pattaya just by looking around you every day than reading that drivel.
They tend to be run/owned by people who pretend to be Lawyers, Diplomats, Rotarians, Doctors etc but the truth is that most are far worse than the much maligned singlet, beer bellied 'sex tourists' they try to denounce; I know who I'd rather drink with....
The most hilarious was the much vaunted 'doctor' who was pushed up as an expert in Thai language and culture but we al know how that panned out....

If they're not accustomed to Westerners it can be a symptom of their reticence. I personally entertain my neighbour(to the left) with my tremendous farts of a morning as I have my morning coffee and smoke in the garden,if I've been on the cider and had cabbage the previous day they cop for it on both sides and sometimes several doors down.

some nights I get stuck with drunken Thai blokes who speak a bit of English and can't get rid of the f*****rs. Always seems to happen when Floyd (or whomever I'm listening to) are really grooving my truffles or there's some pleasing,approachable crumpet around showing an interest. Speaking Thai to them only makes matters worse as they think I actually want to have a chat with the blithering nuisance.

Police believe much of this money was obtained dishonestly, and there may be a lot more out there. They are also expected to look for any money trail that leads back to local influential people.
I wonder how many unusually rich coppers are sweating up under their "tight browns" or taking 'illegal' taxis to the airport if this is the critera they are using to support their investigation?

In my locale and in general when I'm in the suburbs I've seldom had a problem. I find them a little more rapacious in central BKK yet given the clear dangers of their profession I don't begrudge them a few baht extra for having to weave in and out of that traffic....

For a while, early in our relationship, the only contact we had was the weekly letter plopping on the doormat plus the odd hurried (very costly) phone call.
In this modern age when I can contact colleagues in HD quality video across the globe without leaving bed, plus keep up with pals thousands of miles away, not to mention some very inexpensive phone call options these days being able to maintain a long distance relationship should be a cakewalk, with no excuse for failure.

There IS no record. You could just be telling or have told the same lie(s) over and over that you now believe it to be true.
That doesn't mean the rest of us need to believe you . You're already falling into the classic fantasist's defence mechanism of wildly saying that those who don't believe you must have led dull uninteresting lives in comparison to your imaginary one.
