  1. As an American..... I AM PROUD OF MY COUNTRY........

Where ever you are from, I doub't you can be as proud as I am to be an American......... America has always been a place that 'Doesn't swat the mosquito until we feel the sting'....

I personally have travelled to over 80 countries in the world and I would not give up my USA citizenship for any other....

Being American, I DIDN'T LIKE TRUMP,   but I don't like muslims either after seeing muslim immigrant populated areas of European and Scandanavian countries.... I DON'T want that in the USA.... So I must join with TRUMP on that.... These IRANIANS (muslims) are out to conquer the world and 'steal' everything we have and give it as an offering to 'allah'.... I am with TRUMP on this one issue.... 'allah' isn't getting anything of mine, IF I CAN HELP IT.....

Note:  I have PURPOSLEY NOT CAPITALIZED muslim and allah for my own reasons.....

UMmm... who is making the most realistic threat against whom?

whomever that is... yep... as you say... that person should be wiped off the face of the planet (plus it’s henchmen, just to be sure)

meanwhile... “as Kim has already basically declared war on the USA”... m8.... there has been an official state of war since the 1950s... NK wants the war ended. The US will not allow the war to be ended, Therefore.... i suppose your whole post is rubbish, if that’s a cornerstone of your thinking.

YOU SAY.......NK wants the war ended....... ???

YOU are so warped and don't have a clue to what is happenening...... And seems you are so anxious to slander the USA.... My HOME, and I love it and I don't want this crazy Kim killing any of my friends.... I prefer to see 'lunatics' done away with before they hurt somebody....

if as you say..... IF we (America) were still at war we could have got rid of them like swatting a mosquito, Over ALL those years since the 1950's (NK and SK have never signed a Peace Treaty) so you might say they are still at war......

If you are taking NK's side..... I'm not prepared to trust that YOU know much about them or you just don't like America and are jumping on an opportunity to slander America, without basis.....

And YOU CALL MY POST RUBBISH............

Instead of helping each other to make the world a better place , politicians prepare for the total destruction of other countries /people .

And that in times where there are so many problems that need to be solved urgently ...

Shame on you , Trump , Kim , Nethanyahu , Bolsonaro , just to name a few ...

There is no hope left for mankind .

Shame on them, but this (KIM) is something like a motorcycle driver in Pattaya flipping the middle finger at a BIG group of 'HELLS ANGELS'.......

I live in the USA and I don't want KIM aiming at me with any of his toys, AS HE IS BRAGGING ABOUT IN HIS PLANS.......... That is ENOUGH OF A DECLARATION OF WAR..... to go ahead and wipe him out...... Don't you know.... the USA intelligence knows exactly where KIM's NK facilities are, and since KIM has already basically 'DECLARED WAR' on the USA and threatened to shoot his 'Nuke' missiles at the USA...... Why should we wait????? Wipe 'him' and his few major targets out............. SOONER THE BETTER.......

IMHO.... NOTHING BETTER than stomping on the foot of some radical just to see the startled and helpless expression on their face......

Thailand certainly has made a rod for it's own back , there's no-way these Generals will relinquish power without a fight.

WHY...................... BECAUSE.................... THEY bought and paid for those promotions to  Generals......(unlike other countries WHERE you must 'earn and deserve' promotions.....

A while ago here was some new about the police chief, who said something like that being the police chief is only a part time job for him.

I guess most of the army generals treat this similar, their government job is considered to be a part time job for them, their main focus is some other business which they are running.

Just look at for example Prayut: "As of August 2019 he serves as Prime Minister of Thailand, Thailand's Defence Minister,[3] and head of the Royal Thai Police.[4] In addition, he assumed the duties of Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak as head of the government's economic team and oversees the Justice Ministry's Department of Special Investigation (DSI).[5]" from wikipedia

So effectively he is doing five jobs simultaneously, and probably he is also running some private business.

In other countries being prime minister would be considered a full time job, but for Thai officials this is a part time job for which they spend an hour or two a day.

Much of their off duty time is spent finding 'OFF SHORE' accounts to put all their    'Hard earned/grafted'    money in...... SIMILAR' to Taksin (Who they try to crucify).......

If I remember correctly, Thailand has over 2000 generals, while the US has about 220.

And soon 3 new 'SUBMARINES' and how many TANkS... Doesn't that create a 'Big Face' for Thailand....

BUT the Thai Kids aren't (or poorly) EDUCATED in schools and the kids and aged, the 'poor' in general, are NOT provided with hospital care......... Do you still see a 'Big Face' for this current gov't???.......    NOT ME......

  7. Years ago in Pattaya a group of friends and myself were at a bar on Soi 8..... Opposite the Soi in another Bar was another 'Farang' who was 'stumbling drunk' and he was lighting  '50-packs' of small firecrackers then throwing them out into the Soi as groups walked by...  Watching him for a while (OUR GROUP) and 'not liking' his actions..... OUR WHOLE GROUP as well as many others were treated to a 'HAPPY ENDING" when that drunk guy didn't throw his pack soon enough and and they (all 50) went off in his hand.... It was a laff for us all and many 'clapped and cheered'....

It IS a 'Fond Memory' for ME... And one of the few times that I have witnessed................. 'WHAT GOES AROUND -- COMES AROUND'.....    cheers ........

The pick-up driven by a teacher was carrying 16 boys aged 12 to 15 in the cab of the vehicle and in the back.

OF the 16...... some were in the back...

It is not specific but 'very possibly' the 2 that died may have been the only ones in the back.....

THAILAND 'COULD' LEARN from this that those inside were safer than those in back......

But spell it out for them and paint them a picture.... and they still 'won't learn'......

RIP to the 2 youngsters who became statistic of stupidity.... (More stupidity = the teacher driving overtaking and smashing head-on into the van or tree)

Because it is the end of the year and people travel to their family now?

Yup.... Many Thais go home to their villages/families a few 'special days' as NEW YEAR...

That is the reason for reporting 'Road Fatalities' (because the number of deaths are HORRIFIC) on certain holidays through-out the year..... After the holidays you should see 'most' of them return........ Unless of course our beloved PM chooses to move them off the sidewalks as he did in other areas previously.... My Mrs. had 7 members of her Family selling fried pork, put out of business in Bangkok by the PM's push to clear the sidewalks a couple of those 'stall sellers' who were put out of business had earned enough to put 3 children through UNIVERSITY.... first graduates in the history of their family...... I'm so sad for the 'working Thais

NOW with this present Gov't.....  Only the gov't folks and the already rich folks ARE thought of now days... NOT the massive numbers of poor who are out there on the roads dying this holiday.... Now you know why many of the food sellers are not there, and those who survive the trip home on Thai highways will re open after the holidays....

Wow that’s not normally something you see in the open in broad daylight.

My friend, between 1-2 years ago told me that in PP they were right out in the open, on the street.... He only considered the novelty... He didn't consider getting caught with them or the thought about them 'really' being counterfeit money....

  11. I will never forget that a friend of mine who is retired living in Pattaya... He flys to Canbodia once/twice a year. A couple/three years ago he saw a vendor in PP selling bundles of US$100 bills that looked quite real.. so he bought a pack and brought the bundle back to Pattaya and to pass around to his MANY lady friends... When he showed them to me as a novelty........

I scared the hell out of him by asking IF THAI CUSTOMS AT THE AIRPORT. inspected his bags????.... He replied NO... That is when I scared the hell out of him by enlightening him as to what Thai Police would have done to him for smuggling 'COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY'........

He hadn't given a thought to that.......... OTHER TRAVELLERS CAN LEARN FROM THIS.......

  12. JUST CURIOUS..........  Is it Passport and too frequent visits issue. Or are you trying to smuggle something in without being caught.... ????

EDITED to add.... see my other post just below as a warning to others about a friend of mine taking a high risk coming into Thailand with 'Counterfeit $100s' with innocent intent.....

    Autsch !

I was about to install exactly the same one just for the use of an main isolation switch.

Now I will make sure the knife-switch is making proper contact as it seems what happened with your switch was a bad contact by improper closing causing arcing or just simple corrosion.

And I will put an axe near the utility pole, just in case of... ????

I HAD TO SMILE at the part about putting an axe near the power pole.....

Typical fake news picture, that tree grew there within few days? And the weed also suddenly grew very fast? The plaster blew ALL of the walls, even the door post is missing.

Can you explain what you mean.... JUST A BIT more... Tree grow in days.... Weeds.... Plaster blown off.... Door post missing......... I cant figure out 'what point you are making'??????

I know... In Thailand we are getting accustomed to 'fake news'....... BUT this picture doesn't look like they were having a party on the roof when it caved in..... And what about the civilians standing there looking in shock......

Please clarify what you were trying to describe.... Thanks....

I fail to understand the sad smilies folks left for that comment. Folks think that this stuff is OK?

I Don't know about this specific case... BUT i have seen a few cases where it was obvious that the 'SAD' was not intended as a criticism to that post --- but instead meant that the situation refered to in OP  was a SAD situation.... I'm hoping that it is the case here... as I am fully in agreement with you.... I don't think this stuff is OK....

  16. Am I not remembering correctly that this 'hero' and his girlfriend were on the same train with the culprit killer and that the 'girlfriend' had to 'push' this 'Brave guy' to make the call to police and he reluctantly made the call.......... NOW HE IS THE HERO......... ??????  (WHAT ABOUT HER??????)             Go back and read the first story again...............

He might as well tell Humpty Dumpty not to drink drive. That is how much Thais will listen to him. I saw Thailands reaction today by setting up thoses tents with flashing lights beside the road. Inside the tent were about 30 cops all playing with their phones. Carry on folks business as usual. Can anyone in this forum please tell me what those tents with flashing lights are supposed to do? Very curious guy I am?

It is only my humours guess..... But I would guess that it is to get Thai Cops out near the roads..... without expecting them to really work (Just being there for show) like their government (Being there just for show)...........

You might want to check the small print. It was a strategy I considered until I found 'must be ordinarily resident' (UK) clause ,which of course you wouldn’t be as any cursory check of your passport would reveal. In the UK ???????? insurers etc. have access to the electoral role (central register of who lives at the property) too. Any claim would require passport and air ticket copies so you would not get away with it.

YOU ARE.... Sooooo Right............  I have been 'burned' pretty bad, a few times BECAUSE I DIDN'T READ....... the small print....... NOW.... I won't do anything.... until I read their 'sneaky' FINE PRINT...... If you don't read the small print..... BEND OVER, and prepare to 'Groan'.....

Effectively they have changed the deal on OA holders without grandfathering. This is not a good precedent and not the only recent example. The fact that a workaround is currently available if you fulfill new criteria does not make it any less an official changing of the deal - especially as this workaround could be due to error/oversight.

Thailand has eroded ALL my trust............. I think ALL expats will do good to look at other countries (including HOME country) to escape to....... If YOU don't do it (look and research) NOW, YOU will be 'Hard Pressed' to do it at the last moment....... With this Government that just wants 'More Money'...... There is NO HOPE LEFT'...... SO... Plan ahead.... OR BE 'sorry'.......

If we are LUCKY............. Another gov't will come along soon.... IF NOT...... cover your 'back-side'

  20. This PM....... says a lot, always saying something......... and

ALL of it is just only something 'HE' thinks will make him 'be seen' as doing a better job than what he is 'HOW' he is really doing the job... (POORLY)...... He certainly must think that people believe 'his every word'......... Talk is cheap but if you really want results.... YOU DO SOMETHING, not just talk about it..............

I'm confused by their figures, another story says 138 billion to be spent over the holiday - but 34 billion is on foreign travel. So this story - or the other - must be 20 billion baht out somewhere. Not exactly a small number

IT is all 'Fake New'..... Propaganda...... and the 'present' Gov't is hoping we will believe it....

And start to spend our money more freely...... This country is really obsessed with 'money'.... And just can't get enough money.... That is the only thing the Gov't is talking about now days.... since this present 'Democratically Elected Gov't' (LOL) was voted in..........

  22. Whose money is that 138 Billion???????....... It must be foreigners money (even when Thais are spending it).... LOL... I live in the USA but have a Mia-Noi in Thailand and I just told her I want her to buy food and drink for the 'HUGE village Family' to enjoy for Happy New Year On the 3 credit cards that I have provided her, and she has never abused.... I also have a Kasikorn account so I can make transfers while I am in the USA... Those transfers are made to a couple 'KIKs' who have babies that 'Thai men' aren't supporting.... SO I send Milk money for the babies a couple or three times a month.... ALL OF THIS IS FARANG MONEY..... Being spent in Thailand by Thais... THERE MAY BE OTHER FARANGS, such as myself.... and a few 'rich Thais'... But I can't see 138 Billion being spent... other than Farang money......

    MAYBE 'MORE' FAKE NEWS........... OR......

Perhaps they are including in these figures what the PM is spending on Submarines and the 'Tanks' that will be used to 'enforce political disagreements on the streets of Bangkok'
