  1. Good. But are there not drugs that can be administered to encourage truthful answers to questioning? Or is this a myth? Seems the use of drugs would be far easier than physical torture. I have no sympathy for those people who are involved in the cowardly destruction of human life for a false religious purpose. They reap what they sow.

I agree totally with 'they reap what they sow'............ Yes, give 'em a taste of their own medicine'................... But as for the truth drugs, these CIA people are not amateurs so....... I think that experience may have taught them that the drug don't always work or they would need to go no further than the drugs............. Give these CIA a little credit for being good at what they do (and I am 'all for' them doing 'what ever works') to stop re-occurances of terrorism. DON'T TIE THEIR HANDS and expect them to do a good job of protecting you. Think of it like this: if you had a 'body guard' to guard you while taking your daily deposit to the bank........... would you tie his hands behind his back and expect that he was going to save your ass from a robber. I DON'T THINK SO........ Sure, we find some law enforcement officials who abuse their authority and an innocent person suffers once in a while - but consider the percentages of those innocent vs. the innocent that died in the 'Twin Towers'......... Get 'real' and stop 'tying the hands' of those we want to protect us..................... I want them to do whatever they think will work to protect me and my family............ The occasional innocent casualty is a calculated risk (even if it is me) when it saves more lives than it costs...........

  2. Cp should also consider then setting up a network of animal shelters , hospitals to castrate those dogs and keep em off the streets.

The headline does say 711 to help store dogs

So lets store them in a good place

    Maybe store them in Laos......................

  3. sorry, I do have some bad news for you, the "hang him high" brigade:

torturing the parents, murdering them, or what ever you imagine to be fine

    doesnt help at all !

It only would mean bringing more brutality in this world ! And making these people even worth!

Please do try to get the facts right:

the mother was about 15 years old , when she got pregnant. Do you know. under what kind of circumstances this happened? Looking at this case, I can imagin it was kind of non willing sex, may be rape. And, to call this 17 year old boy "man" is not adequate. He is also more a child himself (probably low IQ and no education).May be drugs did play a role here.

As it is usual, these youngsters (mother and "stepfather", better to say boyfriend of the mother) probably had also kind of cruel childhood themselves.

And, this poor 3 year old victim: There is a big chance, that she also will be a very incompetent mother herself, because this, the circumstances of your childhood are the best predictors of your later parental abilities.

Hey!!!!!! You can "turn the other cheek' and try to explain those 'loser' mom and stepdad and cut them slack, but I am still crying "Hang-em-HIGH"............

  4. What ever happened to 'an eye for an eye' and cutting off your hand for stealing. I can just imagine this guy's condition if we still had some of those 'good ole methods' of dealing with the likes of this guy...............

Even 'caning' would be good here.................. I hope the convenience store learns of the mother's name and deed..................

  5. I think more than a few Thai girls go to the bars because they had Thai guys like this Ex. I have met many personally. I know many completely highly responsible good hearted and hard working Thai guys, but then you have an unnecessary high percent of Thai guys who like boxing their wives around to get some respect that they haven't earned and don't deserve, or otherwise treating them as dogs, and then when the girls finally have had enough, and break free from them, they think they can prove how much they still love them by killing her new boyfriend, just to show her how much he cared for her. Little thought do they give (these guys don't know how to give a thought, actually) ahead of time to the fact that they won't be around to see her come crawling back to him.

None of the guys that I am referring to has killed anybody, but they have many of the same traits as this guy. And the wives having been 'used' by them don't feel that they have many choices of places to make a living and quite a few go to bars.

I've been coming to Thailand more than 30 years, Had an unusual number of Thai bar ladies, 2 Thai wives, a couple mia-noi's, just to mention a little of the basis for the things I've witnessed, and I still have a bit of compassion for ladies abused by guys like this guy. I hope he rots in hell and she finds a good life (or a good bar).......... She has probably suffered 'hell' enough.............

  6.

she must be a customer at one of the 2 banks being investigated for wishy-washy business.solly not today.

Or she brought MR. T's money to his sister.

YOU very likely could be 100% correct...................   I hope you are right and they confiscate it all...................... I think now 'too late' for tea-money (it will go into the Govt. hands and be shared by the 'higher-ups'.................

  7. Spied on 5 muslims....and 100's of millions of other Americans.

They "spy" on me every time I go through the airport too. Yes, it angers me. On the other hand, Americans are trying to find some balance between security needs and our freedoms. I think we have crossed too many lines but I am not conversant with what is possible with technology and what is too invasive. I can only share my gut reaction. A key for me was "having probable cause". I want required outside agency oversight before targeting any individual.

Not me.............. Some of these radicals are so 'slippery' that they can slip past 'probable cause'.. If you don't have anything to hide, why worry.. Today our law enforcers are working with their hands tied so tightly behind their backs, and that is why they can't do their jobs properly. Give-em a break and let them use what the need to use , to keep us safe (hopefully)................

  8. Spied on 5 muslims....and 100's of millions of other Americans.

    HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't care if they spy on me. I don't have anything to be worried about and they won't spend much time with me I'm sure, BUT while they are at it if they catch one 'shoe bomber' or one 'high school shooter', then I will proudly sacrifice my privacy. If you haven't noticed, this is not the world our grandparents grew up in ---- These same people that the government spies are looking for are not me (and hopefully not you) but they are looking for the ones who have made us have to remove our shoes and belt and be x-rayed everytime we fly. Known or even 'suspected radicals' are worth watching, If they ain't guilty they aren't going to have any problems.

Personally , I HATE those bastards that make me remove my shoes and belt and I WILL sacrifice to catch them. I wish them the best - those spies. Spies, do your job as you see fit, go ahead and check me out (I know you won't spend much time on me) and I will sleep well dreaming about the days when my grand folks would go to town and not even worry about locking the door of the house (and certainly didn't have to remove their shoes to fly...............

  9. Why cause a problem for all those who like to have a few drinks before an overnight sleep? This won't fix any of the problems that exist. They will just 'bring their own' booze or pills...........

But the Thai mentality of those responsible for THIS BAN are thinking themselves 'HEROs' for taking 'corrective action' in this situation, when in reality they haven't fixed anything (but their 'face' feels so much pleasure). And I am NOT bashing the average Thai - I really love the majority of them........ It is the 'important decision makers' that create bans like this thinking that they have 'done a good job'..........

  10. Do like I did for my first 10 years or so, rent you one of those little 'walking-talking dictionaries'. You can find them in all the bars in Thailand. Hope your luck is better than mine if you decide to marry one of them. Assuming your girlfriend will be open-minded about it also.

Mostly just kidding but it really did work for me the first few years...............

  11. Thousands of people arrive at the airport after the curfew 10PM. I wonder if when I arrive my wife can come to meet me arriving before 10PM and when I arrive at midnight if I could drive to Pattaya. I would have all my baggage and air ticket for them to see. I feel that there must be concessions for such things when you can prove you are not up to 'no good'. Just wondering if anyone has had any such experience currently?????

  12. Most of you commenting here (especially OP) are tossers too (USA=Jerk offs).

Same as the tossers that throw money at the girls.

Very, very arrogant and very, very sad !

This can only be a comment from you Mona John!

Friday nights, me and the missus go rent a girl from a bar, throw money at her and party all night long.( you know me!)

Not had a sad Friday night for 2 years!

GOOD for you. If you are lucky enough to have money, then enjoy yourself........... You can't take it with you............ Many folks don't have that opportunity or maybe they choose to find happiness buying 'Coach' handbags with their money or Mercedes Benz's. Don't criticize others how they spend, just spend as makes you happy.............. Keep up the 'good work' mate.............

  13. I hate to be sinister but you say 'your daughter' and sounds very much like you love her as such. Chances are that it is exactly as you think, but I would like to offer just a bit of 'food for thought'. If I was in your position I feel like I would like to 'know' exactly, all the circumstances. I would request a DNA test to verify that your concern is warranted. You haven't given us any clue what the wife did before and like so many wives in Thailand there may have been other farangs or Thai men in her life. Even as I will admit, the chances may be small - but at least you would 'know'...........

And then, if it were to be the undesirable result from DNA - (and since 4 years is sufficient time to form fatherly bonds), you could still give all assistance you felt like giving to your daughter.

I'm just offering this as something to think about.....................

  14. So now we have the Prime Minister position that can be taken away if the incumbant fails to stop corruption. In future they will not have to prove that any corruption has taken place or name the people who have been corrupt.

Seems like there will never be a stable government in Thailand again.

    ....................... I WOULDN'T say 'never'.................................

  15. Does any one know the requirements or why it is any more difficult to import a used Vespa. I have been told a couple times that it is more difficult for "used" Vespa than other ordinary bikes. This is for a friend of mine who imports 10 to 20 Motorbikes (from the USA) every 2 or 3 months and aparrently he says that there is some special problems with the VESPA. I am looking to hear from somebody that actually has some recent experience or can steer me to a source of information. I understand there is a "VESPA CLUB" in Thailand and I am posting this in hopes that some member or official of the club can help. I am in Pattaya till May 13th and then in the US. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Also, if there is a better place to post this topic (inquiry) I would appreciate help on that too...... Thanks
