  1. Guys i'd like to share this article for you.

    Top 10 Scariest Food Additives

By David Zinczenko with Matt Goulding

    Jul 01, 2011

There was a time when "fruit flavored" and "cheese flavored" meant "made with real fruit" and "made with real cheese." Today? It's artificial everything. Most of the food at your local supermarket is no more authentic than Snooki's tan. Our fruit comes packaged in Loops, our cheese delivered via Whiz. Sure, it's edible, but there's no way your great grandparents would recognize this junk as food.

The problem with additives runs deep. The FDA currently maintains a list of ingredients called Everything Added to Food in the United States (EAFUS), which features more than 3,000 items and counting. Thankfully, most EAFUS ingredients are benign, but a few of them do have potentially harmful effects. Why they're legal is a mystery to us. Some of them might be backed by powerful lobby groups, while others probably survive simply because some guy at the FDA has too much paperwork on his desk and hasn't made time to adequately review the data.

Below are 10 of the most dubious ingredients hiding in your food, compliments of Eat This, Not That! 2011. Even if you're not convinced of their danger, you have to admit this: The more filler ingredients you cut from your diet, the more space you have for wholesome, nutritious foods.

  2. But there is no Chance in the world that an English Speaker/Reader trying to read 'Suvarnabhumi' would ever come up with the pronunciation of 'Suwannapoom' .. and, as I said above, I will bet 1,000,000 Baht that NO Foreigner, whether Native English speaking, French, Chinese or Eskimo, could read and pronounce this word correctly if they didn't already have foreknowledge/exposure.

    CS

'Suvarnabhumi' would ever come up with the pronunciation of 'Suwannapoom' .

totally, agree !!!!!!!! the sound resembles an elephant fart ....

  3. There are more suckers than you think.

A friend of mine tried to access his bank account

but for some reason was diverted to a different bank web site.

He still tried to enter his id and password at the prompt....................

How dumb can you get???????????? :o

these banks better increase their net-banking security.

did the guy lose all his money sitting in the bank?

  4. If this is true it's not so weird it's expensive:

"Thailand is one of the world's most expensive countries for wine, with taxes of 200 percent on locally-made wines -- and a staggering 360 percent on imported wine."

The thai wines I've bought has been ~300 baht pr. bottle.. But you can get it cheaper too if you buy bigger, can get 5 litre bottles I think..

Don't think it's so many wine producers in thailand, and competing with the international supply they can charge nicely.

    I might be wrong.....

cheeses locally produced costs as high as the Aussie and NZ cheeses.

    my observation from Foodland Pattaya

TAX is the major cause. me think!!!!!!!!!

  5. At age 47, I am starting to lean more towards Chiang Rai. Better noodle soup than CNX. Easier to get across the street. Better place to be if you are NOT a teacher.

Pineapple, Papaya, 10 baht per hour internet, all that good stuff. And the old airport is cool too. 200 bucks for an entire year of golf.....people pay more than that to play once around here in Phoenix, during the high season. I've considered Udon Thani, too, and I am real tempted by Cambodia, which seems to welcome foreign investment more, not to mention smoking ganja es no problema.

thank you Thailander for your good advice.

CR is in my future plan. Nice people around. I saw hill tribe people in a market in town to sell their products(note not in the nite plazza).

Plus the cost 'o living is pretty low.

I have been to Cambodia 2 times and I love it. Smoking hash!!!!! well, I didn't try that in Cambodia.

PS thanks all for your comments.

  6. i can't pick out the lyrics. can you tell me what he's singing about? would take about 2 seconds if we knew the words. soundhound was a bust for me using your YT video.

    thank you anothertorres...

this weekend i will check the lyrics. I couldn't catch all but only some. some parts he sings "I can be a xxx, I can be a xxx"

his voice is similar to Freddie Mercury , Queen

  7. it depends on where in LOS. with that budget in BKK and Puket is a little too low. I mean you can fit yeself in but the quality of life isn't too good though.

I am next to Pattaya. It 's much cheaper than those 2. Do my shoppin' once a week in Pattaya, foodland. 7/11s are a lot around. very comfy & easy life!! :) ! B15,000/30 = B500/Day is OK for a single dude in Chiang M,Chiang R, Korat, Konkaen,Udon, Ayuttaya, Rayong and so on.

a decent flat for rent is approximately B3-4,000 with or without an air con (Option) in general

a bowl of Noodle soup costs you no more than $30.

    a ride with a bike-taxi = $10-15 minimum

    per-min.-charges on cell-phones = B1.00-1.50/min ....

cloths are more than half cheaper than in western countries. G'luck...biggrin.gif

  8. So, this person wants your friend to accept a parcel full of 'goodies' with something hidden away in the battery compartment? The English style of writing reads, to me, as if it's been written by a Nigerian person.

What exactly is your friends relationship with this person?

This has got 'scam' or 'smuggling' written all over it!

Her sister forwarded her e-mail to me as they were surprised with the action of this William Phillip. I personally know the girl but she didn't come to me before her sister. Both of 'em have quite poor English so she wanted to find out why he had to send her many valuable things plus some Pounds even though they have never seen each other. Then i try to get many ideas from this forum to back up my decision. She is in love with this guy. Full of hope !!!... This breaks her heart though. They are not poor and not wealthy somehow they have proper jobs and earn enough to look after themselves. They might be dreaming of luxurious lives somewhere. I dunno. Thank you all for your time making comments. I will tell her to keep away from this guy. I will try.:(

This is not a very tricky one but as some forum fellows said some girls had actually lost money from this sort of scam. they were temporarily blind then. poor thing!!!! this Ni------n guy is still fishing......... (Thai) Humm.....

  9. So what do you guys think? i guess this is from a dating website.

unfortunately her personal info. can't be shown. h

i don't have any data on how much Thai girls has been trapped.
