  1. Simple as really.

This <deleted> will get TV, garibaldis, mobile phones in UK nick.

    He killed an American marine.

He can't be harmed in the UK but he very certainly can be here - with no come back.

It's not the Thai's wanting to extradite him - it's the American military.

My God, yet another, what is going on today ...

" he cannot be harmed in UK" ha ! So, and here we go yet again....who is guarding him ? Superman?

Can he catch a common cold in UK? Can "anything "harm him in UK? Did you mean "harmed" by only people or by other means?

People, stop watching 007 films please. There is fantasy and a reality. To think he "cannot be harmed in UK " is myth. Myabe he will not, but to say such a statement is the hallmark of lunacy.

And if UK was so careful about not harming one of there own, why would they allow him ( which I very much doubt they will ) to return.

And please stop thinking that being caught means getting punished or going to jail. Going to jail for the vast amount of "offender's: can be avoided because of where we are and even those who do go usually only spend a very small time and get released far more able to ply their trade.

We have a sad, rather pathetic situation, macho marvel comic statement's by I am guessing the far right who seems to actually think the present system works. It is exactly thanks, in part to these non thinkers' who really have no excuse being so darn thick that we are all in such a mess.

  2. Does the UK have the death penalty? If so, than all 3 countries have the death penalty. This cowardly murder should warrant death, regardless where it occurred. Next time you got your arrogant butt kick by a combat hardened US Marine, and as embarrassing as it may be, just go home.

The UK does not have the death penalty, and will not extradite its citizens to a country that does, unless the prosecution in that country promises not to seek the death penalty. That is why the Thai prosecutors are not seeking it.

I was told the UK DOES have the death penalty.

One is for naval treason and another I forget.

  3. What do you suppose would happen in all of your home countries if you walked into a police station and announced that you were an illegal alien?

He overstayed his visa as a tourist. He did not sneak into the country illegally. Also, in my home country you would not be required to bribe the police if you were in jail or given only rice and water. Nor would a dead man be left in the jail for two days and you would not be deprived of heart medication. Even the Thais hate the police here. It is not a secret. Watch the police near the end of the month. They randomly stop the first 4 or 5 cars that pass and ask for bribes. Has happened to me many times. Wouldn't happen in my home country though.

He didn't rape and murder a little boy either but this doesn't take away from the fact that he was in the country illegally and that will pretty much put you in jail in any country while awaiting deportation.

Is your home country classified as a developing nation? It sounds like you may be from Gullible-Land if you believe this story is accurate.

The police here do not stop random cars. They stop people who have done something wrong. And I know in my country you would pay hundreds of dollars for the same offense as well as likely have your already incredibly high insurance go higher and not the $3 or $6 you pay here. Personally I have no issue with the cops pocketing some of these funds since their starting pay is about 7 to 8K baht a month .... and it is not like police in the US making a good wage & great benefits are not given free food by shops and are afforded special discounts at many places that the average citizen doesn't get.

But the point being is comparing Thailand to the US or other Western Nations is basically like comparing apples to oranges .... it is illogical and naive to believe they should to taste the same or that they both don't have good and bad qualities.

My Goodness, you are just so wrong. And it concern's me that you seem to honestly think you are right when you really have not the slightest clue if you honestly believe that. This classic comment deserve's a prize :

" the police here do not stop random car's" Hold on a second I will just ask....

Well. apparently you are a little mistaken on this one because everyone in this room as been stopped. There are 5 people in this room and some, like me have been stopped several time's. " what were you doing wrong?"

Guess what, they were not even driving, they were in taxi's( with some expectation's)

Nobody was doing anything wrong. Most were at the asok crossing, and some by the emporioum.

When I repeated your comment there was a laugh and one comment " how can anyone who has lived here, has a brain, and does not hide in a basement honestly think that" ?

Next ,you will NOT go to jail in ANY 1st world country if you are suffering from ill health and can obviously show you have no negative intent. Please take that notion and dump it in the trash like the award winning " police do not stop random car's"!

If you doubt this please call each embassy and ask them what their policy is.

Please let me know which one(s) tell you they will jail a person under these circumstance',get the name of the person who told you this, and if possible any reference to any law that provides for such and I will take it up. End of story.

And I tell you quite honestly, I do not care if you are black, white, yellow, from issan or from the north of UK (and have think" random"mean's =car's which contain farnags we can get a buck out of or some other unfortunate vic who we can shake down.) If people like me heard about it such a stink would be created that you would be out in no time.In UK you would probably be given free housing, some money and a return ticket ( friend of mine was not allowed in due to something and was housed for several days many moons ago)

Who honestly would sit down and not do anything?

Who , bar you , would condone such a thing?

But that's the problem here, you have people who know what is going and do nothing because "its not their problem and/or, do not care and twit's who dare to comment on matter's they know nothing about, but seem to think they do"

  4. Too many questions unanswered to make any judgment and the translation of the article is very questionable.

    1. He was re-arrested after paying his fine. On what charge?

    2. He had a lawyer. Did the lawyer seek bail?

    3. He paid a bribe of ฿30,000 through his lawyer. How did he get this money to his lawyer? Also, he could not bribe the police to let him go to the house he rented to get clothes and a shower?

    4. He had a lawyer. Why didn't the lawyer notify the Swedish Embassy?

    5. The points brought up by posters about the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital's visa policy are correct, or at least they were in 2005.

    6. On the other hand, if the victim had been involved in some illegal activity, why would he have gone to the police under any circumstances?

The improbabilities associated with this situation constrain me from pointing fingers anywhere. Those that I have pointed out barely scratch the surface; and, from the comments made by the spokesperson for the Swedish F.O. it does not appear that much will change.

She said there are several similar cases. This leads me to the following conclusion: The victim reacted angrily to his first arrest and may have said some unkind words about the monarchy and/or the police. The police can hold anyone for investigation for 18 days without filing a charge. Lese majeste aside, it is not illegal in most countries to overload your mouth with criticisms of the police when one is arrested, but it is inadvisable in any country, including the so-called democracies of the Anglo-American Empire.

Is it not such a shame that in 2011 we are all still so backward.

Really we have progressed so very little.

We are not a great deal better than our primate ancestors.

It amazes me that in this day and age there still exist's some ' special family's" who seem quite able to convince themselves and sadly others, usually their own minions from whom they get the strongest support not seeing that they are basically getting a raw deal

And that they have a right to so much power. Some like to think it is ' God given" And woe betide them if anyone dare's to question this.

And these family s often abuse this power in the extreme. Some are rumored to be amongst the richest in the world, kind of funny when all one see's is corruption, nightlife, dysfunction. It must surely be just a rumor after all, surely someone special would do something about it.

That article was banned, as was book by the men who investigated a certain crime some year's ago that lead to one person getting his " God given" power's which they have dispensed of so wisely and for everyone betterment. I see no pride and no improvement until we all stop this ridiculous game and grow up. I wonder why?

What else do we not know about?

This nonsense belongs only in the past. Censorship is a tool for the bullyboys to stay in charge. Notice which country's ( all do to a certain degree, it is not all so absurd),have the most and then see how they all seem to be rather sadly behind.

There may be law's against moaning about certain family's in these behind place's. It certainly should be used in this way.

  5. This story need to be shown overseas, and Thailand need a serious black eye over this. I do not care what the circumstances are, this is completely unjustifiable. The only way changed happen here, is if Thailand loses face worldwide. The tourism industry is dying on the vine, and the TOT continues to spin out the false figures. An informed source told me that the island wide occupancy rate in Koh Samui in June was 20%! That is the lowest rate in the past 20 years. Something is happening, in a big way, and every Thai I talk to has their head in the sand, in regard to the issues. Where is the Anna Hazare of Thailand? Do the Thai people care, at all? Does the government care, or even acknowledge these issues, in the slightest manner? Who is going to be held accountable for this latest travesty?

No, the majority of Thai people don't much care. They have never been outside their country and have no clue how the rest of the world is run. They think this is normal, besides, it's happening to farangs not Thai's, and all farangs are rich, so, mai bhen rai.

The same can be said for most third world nation's. The west is far from perfect but one thing I do like is the education system.

Basically here there is none. The world does not and should not respect any qualification given here,In fact the system here is counter education in that it teaches people not to think, question probe.

  6. ...... He should have gone to the consulate first and got advise on how the laws applied to illness works in an overstay situation, .......

Good advice, Where is the British consulate if I ever need it?

The Honorary British Consul is Howard Miller, and is located next to the Immigration office on Jomtien Soi 5.

While Howard Miller is well versed in these matters, as he was previously a Tourist Police Volunteer, I cannot vouch about the Immigration Rules* knowledge of other countries' consuls.

*(I use the word RULES, as reading this forum, notice that other immigration offices have different ways of working, some more strict and others easier.)

Is he a knight as well? I think he does a splendid job considering.

  7. If you believe that story I have a bar beer for sale you might be interested in...

well, perhaps you could prove it is false then.

    That I doubt.

Some people will always say so.I am not sure why. But if you for one minute doubt it could not be true and that sort of thing does not happen here you should get some lawyer's details asap.

    But please, enlighten us.

I hope this is followed up.

  8. I've been in Thailand less than six months and I already know a lawyer I could call if I ever get in trouble. An immigration lawyer with connections to the imm office/department. I would NEVER walk into the police station and try to fix this on my own! Call the lawyer, let her take care of it. You'd think people would be smart enough to do that.

And YOU just might not be as smart as you think you are. Maybe you should wait until you're in a fix before you start crowing about well prepared you are.

I hate to get into this - but , generally you are wrong- he is right.

But let me tell you this and you decide.

I visit people in jail here ( or used to, getting old now and the wait us too long) I met one very nice Englishman by chance. I was told ( by his embassy) that he would be getting something like 100 year's! He was "in for it"

When I met him I thought " are you the right man"?

He was sitting with a girl on his knee looking very with happy with himself, he was in an separate office which was" my mate, the guvnor, let me use this,,", he had a mobile( this was when they first came out,so quite rare) and the visit was not supervised.

I told him what I had been told and ,he laughed at me, this was some time ago but I see almost no change.

His lawyer "fixed" everything. He was out soon after.

Some year's later he was arrested again. Murder, drug's....a number of a lawyer- and out?

I do not mean to be smug but the reality is that money and connections will get you out of most thing's here.

That is, sadly a fact( and can be said for most of the world, only here its right in your face and done in such a low class manner. But much cheaper)

I would call that a bit of a fix would you not?

And I would also say that having an able bodied lawyers card in one's pocket ( as some embassy will advice you to carry) is about as well prepared as one can get here as it give's instant access to someone less likely to lie, plant, bully and sort of serves as polite warning " please do not take too much advantage over me" And a contact with the outside world that can rally to your aid.

Yes, I took the lawyer's detail's and, no I will not give them out.He is a very, very nice person and simply will rely upon his contact's( choosing my word's carefully)

I too was stopped at custom's once for having a "banned item",

I was told I was in " big trouble".I was even shown a photocopy of what seemed to be some law-book in English. It said" you are not allowed to bring in banned item's" . My God, they have a law for that!

I was told I was to be arrested and even that the press would be outside waiting( suggesting a story! It's just so pathetic!)

Out came the lawyer's card. A thousand baht later and my bottle and I was home.

I was stopped quite randomly once near ekkamai area.

I was very drunk and asked, rudely I might add to have a urine test. They probably thought I was on drug's, well, I suppose you could say I was!

I was body checked first and quite publicly which I did not like one bit. But the man was only doing what he was told by a senior grumpy policeman who stank of what I had been drinking and smoked constantly. His pupils were very dilated.

I refused , I know the law, and I needed another drink ( The lawyer told me of a few clauses that they do not tell you about that just stop it in its track's) .Please do not buy into those myth's, yes, someone here may send some copy of some law that may say you must do this or that.Funny how none of this ever seems to apply to so many.

So what?, reality is law's can say anything, You apparently cannot murder people also, but some do and simply get away with it.

Know the stat's of murder solving here? How about rape prosecution? It clearly show's that the authoritys are hopelessly unable to do their duty and so, we give rise to other, less that preferable, but necessary way's.

I politely said " no" giving my reason's.They did not like this one bit, saying "you must do what we tell you, we are police, this is Thailand and you must be on drug's, you are from XXX( apparently everyone in my land is!)" and so I handed over my card very politely and asked them to call it

They also asked to see 'official documentation for my heart tablets-the implication being that they to, were illegal.

The grumpy cop looked less than happy.

I remember thinking he was hoping to be able to buy another bottle for himself and just found out it was not coming from me.

The lawyer did not pick up the phone straightaway and so I was taken to tonglaw police station with the grumpy cop starring at the card like it was some unique item.

The lawyer told me something I hate hearing because I do love this place, always be polite, give my card as soon as possible and a tip.

In fact whenever I read a new law here saying for this or that, foreigner's cannot do this or whatever I simply ask the lawyer opinion when I get the chance.

A vast many people simply smile when they read these thing's because that simply does not apply to them( like the young brit) and dial a number. Problem solved. Most case's. Many do not care about this or that new law, new policy, when you have a number- and the fund's it simply does not apply.

Doing the right things here win's no point's.It should not be this way.

I wonder what would of happened if I did not have a number. I may of been featured here!

Since them I have seen men that I visited in jail here shopping in jatujak, attended an event and bumped into another ex-con, known about people who exit 'invisibly" because of crazy charges( one man split up with his hiso girlfriend and she had him arrested for stealing her coffee machine! What would you do? Follow the " law" when daddy has paid to see you go down?) I tell you what you would do- call a lawyer if you could. One man ,a very nice swede was distraught,he spent 6 month's in jail on a similar matter.

Do you, does anyone have any confidence in the legal, or any other institution here? If you wanted something done well, efficiently,quickly,professionally..in any area ( apart from a knock shop!) which local institution would you call?

One breeds the other I am afraid.

All I did was pass on the number.I do not like to actively promote law breaking. But many case's here it is far more a matter of what is right and wrong, rather than illegal. I have struggled with this issue and it is not one that sits well with me.

So, I would ,like many others, advise having access to a good lawyer in your pocket. Along with some cash.

What harm can it do? None.

What benefit's? Freedom,no trouble. Abilty to carry on normal life.

I thank the gentleman for saying this. Although I hope he does so just in case he need's it and does nothing to attract trouble.

It does not mean he agrees with it and one certainly should be smug about it.

  9. ( please exuse my rant's,I have been having a few)

I am sure the story is genuine because I know so many like this.

I hope this is looked at closely and something done.More thing's need to be checked. The gent will have no trouble getting back in and I hope he can put this behind him.

Thai police by and large are a joke! hideously untrained and incapable bunch of dressed up bully boys gangsters!

I could say the same about every country in Asia and the third world .All country's in fact.

There is only- not- good, bad, awful types of government.

The thing that concerns me is- 1- thing's do not seem to be improving here as the same pace as the bribes being paid out. And who suffers?

I think I could speak for many when I say it is probably the sort of local Thai most of us have come to know and like. The normal, happy, easy going type. I truly feel sorry for all those hardworking people who have to suffer at the appalling staus quo.Who have to get up early, suffer a bad education and medical treatment and some, to have to sell themselves.

Not the ego-based , false high class who see often do not give a dam_n about that fellow country man and hate the farang because they either do not fear them or show them for what they really are and do not subscribe to their rather questionable way's( ghost's, monks who tell you not to do this on friday- and that bit of advice will cost you 100baht please) and also because they know many thing's that local's do not. But of coures they are lying ...,there are so many banned book's and other bits of history that give the very false illusion of national probe which can be used to manipulate the masses. What is said about the truth? It set's one free.

So, where is it here? If truth set's one free the not true does the reverse. How many local's truly know about what and who are banned here. A senior british police man with a proud record. Why ban him? Why is that book on world war two banned? Who was it who said " never bow to me, if you do, all is lost? Is it not almost tragic and for some amusing that the person who said that receives the most bow's!

One problem is that, outside of thailand, thailand really is bad at being bad. One can almost respect a dare devil jewellery theif when he steals all the diamond's, hurt's nobody, leave's no mess.Who can respect a thug who bully's money out of the weak..it's just so lame.

But this power exist . Very well in fact. And that is why thing's are not improving

Many, not all ( I must be clear on this. But unfortunately corruption and threat's carry much weight here.) of the rule maker's are like this.

2- far worse than the first. The people here ( the ruling elite) know how they are looked upon. A bit of a joke. And do not seem to care.

In a nutshell and not to mix word's. Thailand look's great on the outside.Rather like a syphilitic whore. Good to look at, but avoid going in too deep unless you are well protected.Again, most around here are like that. Some of it can be ascribed to direct colonalism .Colonolism commited two evil's.

    1- the west came.

    2-Again,far worse, it left!

It left a people wanting to be something they can never be.

So, they copied the good part's and left out that which does not suit them.

I wish they would reverse everything.

they got a taste of what they want.So they wear clothes that do not suit them, read hi-so mag's, have endless confernces that mean nothing ( expect more bils for the tax payer) ,give general,s ( including those who retire. but still outrank others!) awards when they cannot even quote clauswitz )and just kep making the same old mistake's.

It's a mess, national pride on over rated nothingness giving a illusion of Independence( to rally the masses so they will keep local ethic Thai leaders rich and not some western power's.Who they would no doubt, unfortunately be far off better with. Who put;s the most effort's into improving this country? Less drug export, better human right's,better trained professionals, less elephant's on the street's,more orphanage's-

The west(.It has to, to stop Thailand selling itself, again, to a "bad power"),

a childlike obsession with money and "class", known the world over for the ladys and corruption,a philosphy that somehow has become a religion( that is about as close to its true teaching's as madonna is to mozart), a ruling elite that is so great that we are even treated to rather homely family movie's ,who is super rich and powerful and, best of all, the kicker................ we cannot question it!

I mean, you have to give credit where credit is due. I suppose it is easy when you have no moral's and will do anything to stay in power and make all the rule's.Let's make ' do not question the rule's, if you do, you are not a proud thai..who has done, well,,,mmm).just do as your told" a rule, tie it in with nationalism, edit, rewrite history, ban that bit of info and this bit.

it remind's me of the bible, " it must be true" it is written"! You must have faith( trust something without a shred of evidence. Never a single tiny bit) Who honestly does that? Answer- people who, regardless of where from, never progress their lot.

Thai's ( and so many other's)are not loaded with the right "software ".( nobody realy is, but some know this and are doing something about this) A very small part of this may be nutrition. In order for this country to improve the software needs to be upgraded. Imagine seeing a mess of dirty water on the floor. It need's to be fixed. But the water is leaking out of a locked room .To solve it we need to go in. But we cannot! It's not allowed,it's forbidden,it's wrong, do not question-its rude!

And so, time after time again, as history is proving the water keep's spilling back. What is needed is a proper education system. We need to see that the people who make the rules are those affected by them. One that teaches from a non biased standpoint and allow's the discussion of everything. One that teaches us to use the best tool we have already inside us- our brain!

    on that note-

Right off for another double, my word the new john black double is good.

  10. Friends...

Please have a look at the photo I tried to attach. It really seemed to tug at my heartstrings.I wonder what the future hold's for this dear little girl. Hunger/loneliness/sickness/despair/sexual abuse/drug intake/mental depression......................I am sure we can all agree, none of it very nice.

All those thing's are highly probable for her.90% of the lady we see at the bar's were once like her in some way.

    Our pleasure is their pain.

The reward/gratification we get is so short ( and these day's it getting even shorter for me!) compared to their prolonged misery.

Our patronage fuels a whole horrible trade and train of event's that will most likely befall this little girl.

Those human trafficker's will go and buy someone like her, rape her, ,take her away from her family and friend's ( I can quite honestly tell you I feel a teardrop coming on right now, silly old softy I am !) force her to take drug's so they can blot out reality and pretend to enjoy what we do to them .

I just woke up one day and asked myself 'what am I doing here"? I am just as ' guilty" as many others,if indeed that is the correct term. I just want others to be a bit more aware and if possible, give a little something back.

I have thought deeply about this and would certainly welcome any positive advice /suggestions.

I think it is an illusion of choice. When we choose we either base our choice's on A- moving towards pleasure/gain/postive etc B- away from from pain/further lose/negative ( according to NLP study's).

The lady's here are strictly B.

If we spent a fraction of the amount we on ourselves we could help them be able to make better choice's. We want a better world do we not? Let's all do something then( please)

Who among you would really not like to be able to do that?

Who could look at little girl like this and deny her the ability to avoid such misery if she choose. She most definitely would never choose the path that may one day lead her to pouring us a drink cowboy if she had the option.

We can help with that option.

There will always be prostitution. But let's at least try and make for those lady's who want more.Who are in the cat A. Not the cat B.

Let's try and make it they do not choose to sell their body's so they can eat, send moneys back home, avoid beating's, pay for more drug's that they take in order to cope with what they do....

This in my mind is simply very sad and wrong.

I suppose in some way we are all prisoner's of our DNA. Its natural to want to have some fun.But at what expense? And can we have fun and yet do so in perhaps a better way?

I think we can. So now I support a charity which help's lady's who have decided to walk away based in Pattaya ( run by some lovely people) and sponsor some educational event's.

I divert some of my pension towards these thing's and I am happy to say it brings me much joy.

I have the strong feeling that even those who tried to score a point against me and make thing's personal ( really there is no need for that. And besides let's stay on the matter at hand) would actually like to help too.

I am quite willing to admit my rum fueled rant's confuse even me at time's and I may be wrong about many thing's( it would certainly not be the first time!), but please let's all just remember the plight of that little girl and agree we would like to help her avoid something we help bring upon her and think about giving a little something back.

One thing I can promise you all- you would all feel much better for doing so.

    Thank you all.

  11. The point is that if we love Thailand we should all help it understand that if it wishes to shed it's all joke like status it must change.

Thai do not want to be looked down upon.

And yet they always will if they keep this sort of nonsense up. At the moment Thailand is known as corrupt sexual playground that is not yet ready to move up from 3rd world status.

These policy's help it keep that way.

    They are just plain wrong.

  12. I think we should separate between what is taught and the teacher.

We should not blame TM if some people have chosen to exploit it.

Its not the fault of TM that these people have perverted and brought a bad name to it.

I would suggest getting a good teacher. That in my mind is paramount .

  13. Like robblok, I enjoy fishing, and especially fly fishing, so I tie flies...

I wander around Thailand with my fly rod finding beautiful areas to fish.

I'm a photographer, a hunter and an artist, so I like to draw and paint the things I catch, photograph... or hunt

I've written and illustrated outdoor stories for magazines for 50 years, and I'm currently finishing off a book about my adventures. There doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day to do all the things I enjoy. That is probably why I am better off being single.

I must say I really loved the pic of that beautiful lady..really good stuff.

  14. Gosh I wish I had free time ...Charity work ?

Giving back to a country that welcome you is always a good use of free time

oh yes, this is such a good idea. There are so many worthy place's that could really use a hand.

And the joy one get's from giving back is immense indeed.

    Goodluck.

  15. First of all - please have a sense of humor you silly man!

I first visited Thailand in early 80's.

I have probably spent apx 8 years here in total. But not all of it in Bangkok. I like the quiet south. Where did "two week holiday come from"?

Was it one of those sort of clever TV cheap shot's I see all too much of? It would be nice if we could focus on the subject and not throw cheap shots to each other from behind cover as it were. And that one kinda missed did it not?

Sorry if my humor however misguided was out of order. Sometimes its a case of laugh or cry for me.

But I still cannot agree that they are 'choosing it" because a better life style is not afforded to them.

A huge percentage of these girls have taken /are taking /forced to take drugs that may fool others into thinking they are actually choosing and enjoying what they do. So,in a way, we are part of this destructive cycle .

Is it not the case that true choice comes from having good option's. Do they have good option's? Could we help them get better option's?

Does anyone honestly think they enjoy having sex with some sweaty overweight person and that they would choose to sleep with a man old enough to be their father if they had a real choice.

Perhaps they enjoy destroying their physical and mental health by dangerous sex practice and drug abuse. Look at their eyes before they wander into the back and tell me what you really see.

Disgust, shame, regret, yes, I can see this is a real choice indeed.

In these case's it's a forced and loaded by circumstance option.

I could not really get through the rest of your mail, but I do thank you for your opinion and lets all agree on one thing that we would like thing's to improve at least.

I see many replys loaded with guilt ( hence the not so smart and failed retort's) because no doubt I have pricked a few conscious ,I myself am far from innocent .I think it would be nice to simply somehow accept the past ,perhaps we are more defined by what we do, rather than what we have done...not sure on this one myself, I read it somewhere and it seems apt, but at the same time let's all try and do something a little more positive for the future. Thank you.

  16. I Totally agree with above comments , Some people do not want to believe when they see it, and some people only see what they want to .

I personally had an experience of a young girl who went to work as a bargirl because her parents where very poor, So she started to sell her only possession, her body , after a week she bought a drug to dull the pain of being used by sex tourists. unfortunately the tablet that she bought was packed with brick dust or talcom powder. or chalk. it caused her to go into a fit, then later into a coma. I took her to a Hospital in a Taxi, My friend and I who is a Thai (lady). went to visit her because she had nobody. She died on the third day of being in Hospital. The doctors told me that her brain had swollen and that even if she had recover she would have been brain damaged. I went through her bag which was on the table next to her bed, i found a piece of paper in her bag with a few telephone numbers on. i gave them to my Thai friend who went through them until she found one, which was her mothers phone number. My friend told her what had happened to her daughter.I can still hear the screams and crying of that girls mother,Her mother did not have any money to even come let alone recover the body to take her home. My friend and i gave a little money for the monks to come and take the Girl away and cremate her, After my friend had to get some monks in to bless the room where the girl stayed. when the monks arrived, some girls who worked nearby asked what was happening, my friend told them, Within about 30 minutes there where many girls that arrived and stayed for the blessing , and even though they did not know the girl, they all gave willingly for the Hospital bill, and for her cremation and for the monks to bless the room. The girl that died was just 19. she did not want to sell her body and did not want to be there, she had to to survive, she sold her only possession, her body. i will not enter into a discussion about this incident. I know its true and still have the pictures of the blessing. i will not name the bar or Soy it happened in because i have many" so called" sluts, Bargirls, and many other things which are looked on as low life, I regard them as human and my friends.

A tragic case. All too common I am sure. Thank you for this post.

  17. How many darling little girl's (or boy's), hungry, lonely ,used and abused like her did any of us see today...and simply just 'walk on by'?

About 10 or so I suppose. Most at traffic light intersections.

What do you suggest I do about it? (That's a serious question by the way).

I would like those who pay the 'legal" (it is not legal is it?, and lets move beyond that and ask 'is it right'? ) girls to be fully aware of what they are doing.

And that simply is the perpetuation of this misery.

They are indirectly helping because they are taking advantage of someones need ( be it to eat ,live, send the mother and buffalo some baht's) that they cannot fulfill by socially accepted means.A failure of the Thai government.

What do you suggest the Thai government does about it? (That's a serious question by the way).

As an aside, I think almost everyone on this forum would object to you mixing child sexual abuse with consensual sex work. You in the God Squad by any chance? Even if you are, JC used to hang with a hooker; I sometimes do too.

Regardless if its a 8 year old child , or a 30 year old bar girl( they have pretty much the same brain maturity anyway)

<deleted>.. Now I seriously suspect you're trolling. Not sure there's much point in taking this any further. Go find yourself some life experience.

First of all - please have a sense of humor you silly man!

It always surprise's me at how many person's here take things so seriously and then make some personal slight that they probably would not in person.

The comm net about " god-squad" was totally unnecessary and the sign of...... beside's we all know Jesus was in fact gay, He would never use the service's of a" hooker"!

I suspect I have had my fair share of life experience thank you. But I am still willing to learn and try and have an open mind.

Anyone can object that is freedom of speech. Something not legal here.

But people they really say that the two are not related at all?

And can they honestly can they think it is "right"?

Forget the law- by and large it is an ass.But we know inside us what is right and also what is wrong.

And so I submit to you that paying someone from a 3rd world nation to do something they would never choose to do in order to live in this day and age is simply wrong.

    Would you agree?

Would you be happy to see you wife/sister/daughter have done to them what you pay lady's to allow you to do?

Consensual? You see, its not really like that.

These lady's often really do not have much choice. It is not like back home where the lady's choose to do this because they want more.

The lady's back at home are able to avail themselves to welfare and are much better taken care of.

This is a key point which I want to make- the lady's do it here to survive. To eat, to live, etc. To live.

Would you tell a drowning lady " I will save you, if you have sex with me"?

None of them really enjoy what they are doing in fact they hate it. And so, come's the rise of drug abuse, and with that the drug dealer,on and on, misery upon misery.

They do this to blot of what they have to do. Horrible is it not?

What would I suggest you do?

I am not going to suggest you stop using their service's, after all, you are human.

This, like the partaking of substance's is a human need.

I do suspect you have a genuine desire to do something.

Perhaps contribute to one of the many nice charity's there are that help lady's who have made an effort to leave that trade behind them.

You will feel better about yourself and one I went to recently had some really hot-babes there hanging out!

  18. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but most clients will be Thais. To blame foreigners here while there is a much larger Asian clientele is so annoying. All those NGOS making money of it while depicting the situation wrongly as westerners being the biggest abusers.

Not saying this is a good thing.. but to say that if you pay for a legal girl you are helping pedofiles is going to far.

Oh yes, you are quite right.

In fact matter's were far worse before Thailand became heavily westernized.

Human right's were appalling they are not that good right now.

Its because so many westerner's come here simply for sexual matter's that I would like to draw attention to this.

Thailand is synonymous for one thing and I am always amazed at the word play of "Bangkok" which is exactly what so many come here to do.

I would like those who pay the 'legal" (it is not legal is it?, and lets move beyond that and ask 'is it right'? ) girls to be fully aware of what they are doing.

They know this and offer the lady's a solution that I think is simply wrong. That solution is sex.

Regardless if its a 8 year old child , or a 30 year old bar girl( they have pretty much the same brain maturity anyway) they do not want/enjoy or should have to do this.

Doing this expose's them to danger of rape, murder, disease . In the long term it seriously affects them in many way's.None of them positive.

I blame westerns in part because we should know better we would not accept this back home ,yet, take advantage of it here.

Right, off to cowboy, writing all that diatribe has made me desperate for a good shag!

I dont go to those places.. im still not in bad shape. But i like it that people are free to sell sex (if they are of legal age). There are always other ways to make money they can choose that too. They don't

The world is never a fair place and there will always be income differences. I find it crazy to say that a all bar girls are stupid. Anyway you might know better as me because i don't see them that much. But i doubt if there is much variation from the normal populace.

I would also think its crazy to seriously say all bar girls are stupid-who said that?

In fact some of the smartest people I have had the pleasure to meet in Thailand are bar-girls.Many with heart's of gold.

I also agree about selling sex. Because ,like drug use,it is natural and no man made law can ,has, will ever change it. My country has one of lowest rates of crime attached to drug use ( violence) and sex abuse because of the laws that basically say " there's a time and a place and we know you have a need, just do so in the right way"

And its not really a choice simply because ,what else can they choose in order to feed themselves?

  19. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but most clients will be Thais. To blame foreigners here while there is a much larger Asian clientele is so annoying. All those NGOS making money of it while depicting the situation wrongly as westerners being the biggest abusers.

  20. According to their website, they practice TRIPLE pricing (so not only foreigners can be incensed, Thais can too!):

    400 baht for foreigners

    200 baht for Thais

100 baht for Thai residents of Samut Prakan Province

Not sure if DL, work permit, etc. will work. It has been ages since I was there and don't recall.

    That's me not going. Pathetic....

  21. Friend's

Please look at the wonderful animation ' flower girl' on youtube.

It certainly pulled at my heart string's.

I think everyone knows only too well that this sort of horrible thing here is only too common. Many on TV will support this by proxy ( I hope that is correct term) directly or indirectly

by paying for sexual liaison's or others.

I consider marrying poorer lady's much younger lady's to be in a similar vein- it's all about the male ego and taking advantage of impoverished people who are not doing what they would want to be out of choice, but necessity.

And/or taking advantage of this country's ridiculously hypocritical policy's towards women and the poor.

What a sad state of affair's and wouldn't it be nice if we all somehow could show that we really love this wonderful country and tried to do something positive about it .

How many darling little girl's (or boy's), hungry, lonely ,used and abused like her did any of us see today...and simply just 'walk on by'?

  22. there is no guessing regarding ' drug's making there way back onto the street"

They will. They already have. The only thing this changes is that drug syndicate's will make more profit. Indeed they love this sort of nonsense.

The drug policy's are just so absurd.

This window dressing is really pathetic.but many of the authority's are one and the same- and so, we continue with this game. But who does it really fool?

  23. The idea that the money goes towards park rangers doing a good job and nice toilets is nice. But so flawed.

So many parks in SE were founded, funded and run by westerners sad by locals turning a blind eye to so many issue's. The oran-utan is just one.

    Elephant's is another.

The fact quite plainly is- it is wrong.Any sort of discrimination is.

Thailand will never shed it's 3rd world 'joke of a knock-shop corrupt country"until this nonsense all stop's.

Thai's know it is wrong that why it is a touchy issue. It is sensitive because of the shame attached to it.

I hope thai's choose to step out of the self imposed chain's.
