  1. A lot of talk with no action. It will be good for the Australian reps to escape the cold weather

It would depend on which state of Australia that is currently cold surely?

To get on trips like this you would have to most likely live in Canberra and be high up in the public service. Very cold place in July

Nobody from the top end of Australia would get a spot.

  2. If you are serious about learning Thai move to a city where there are not many tourists. If you have a girlfriend get her to speak thai to you and travel to her homeland. If you are younger then most of us and really desire to learn the language then keep on with your studies. Good luck

  4. As a Patong ex-pat of over 20 years , that remark about Patong being expensive , depends on where you go,

compared to prices in most areas which cater to Tourism outside of Thailand , we are still a better deal unless you go to

the rip offs , just like in BKK or Pattaya or all over Europe!

A friend whose a Photo journalist for FULL THROTTLE MAGAZINE , WHO REPORTS on Biker shows all over the world, especially in Thailand , just emailed from Venice(Venezia) Italy about a lunch he had for 2 people cost him 160$

He said it right " sometimes you need to be careful!"

    LOOK b4 u leap !

That's anywhere you arer a tourist, not just Patong , because tourists go on vacation not wanting to THINK , they're on holiday and try not to think as hard as at work.

I been working in tourism over 50 years , now retired.

Phuket and Patong still suffers from growing pains , but there's still alot more fun and good people then bad here.

Stay away from Patong. Can be very expensive.

Compared to the rest of Thailand it is expensince. Especially taxis

  5. She is a Malaysian citizen but I wonder which was her country of residence.

Do they ever let anyone through here and tail them to see where the drugs are going, or are they scared to see who the drugs are going to, imagine if they followed the smuggler straight to their own police station haha

If they received a tip that she was arriving they could examine her bags before entering the pick up area. They could have let her go and followed her. If it was a random check and find then it would be very difficult.

  6. Before coming to Thailand I lived in the tropics in Australia for over 30 years. When I go to Bangkok I do not feel the heat. But I am now living in the north so I will soon acclimatise to this temperature. The main danger i found was crotch rot. Be very careful. First sign seek medical attention.

  7. An agreement between Hun Sen and Bangkok Airways in 1997 gave the rights to Bangkok Air and Cambodia's national carrier to fly between and Siem Reap and bagkok. Siem Reap Airways was the national carrier for Cambodia until it basically went bust. It use to fly Bangkok to Siem Reap. The national carrier for Cambodia is now Cambodia Angkor Air ( CAA ) This company is 51% Cambodian government and 49% Vietnam Airlines. At the beginning of 2011 there was hope that CAA would also fly BKK to Siem Reap route. The are a number of articles on the net stating this. .This link is one

To this date they have not. They fly domestically in Cambodia and to Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Google, Siem Reap Airlines are a wholly owned subsidiary of Bangkok Airways and operate to Siem Reap and Phom Penh. As stated in my previous post many of the BA aircraft carry the SR insignia but keep the Thai registration. They have not gone bust.
