  1. I think i am old enough to say boom boom and not anything else that will upset anyone or have administrators deleting my post.

AS for the words boom boom if you have ver been in thai bar you would know what it means.

Maybe you live somewhere and just wish you could live in Thai?

    Actually i am 57

  2. My Thai wife happliy lets me sit in strikers bar in soi 4 sukhumvit .

She never complains and sometimes sits there with me all night.

She had never been in a bar untill she met me.

I met her in a lotus near wangwian yai.

If she doesnt come to a bar with me she stays at her mothers house while i am in the bar.

Married for 3 years now and she has not changed any.

    Boom Boom when ever .

Only my mother in law gives me an earfull sometimes if i drink all the singha her her shop.

My wife never gets in a bad mood.

Even when we go to australia i drink there and no complaints.

Now she has a glass of wine with me.

I think you just got the wrong girl

  3. Finally after starving for so long, i have found a can of BAKED BEANS in a supermarket.

Australian farangs will know the food i mean.

Tops supermarket on Suksawat Road, Phrapradaeng have some cans and i bought them all.

The top is a little rusty but the baked beans are supurb.

I didnt know i missed them so much.

Lucky i have a supply of vegemite i brought from australia.

My thai wife had a sniff and went Yukkkkkk.

What is the farang food you miss from your old country?

  4. I have on 3 occasions bought my thai wife 1 way tickets from Bangkok to Australia.

The first 2 she had a tourist visa.Second a spouse visa.

First time was with Singapore airlines and second time was with Thai air.

On both occasions she was stopped for a long time at the check in counter by the both airlines.

Both airlines on each seperate occasion said she must have a return ticket to travel on a tourist visa.

Luckily i was with her and i told them what they say is bullshit.

I produced the visa letter from the australian embassey and made them read it and asked them where in the letter of visa grant does it say she must have a return ticket.

They mumbled of of rubbish and supervisors were called.

Eventually on both occasions she got through check in.

In australia immigration did not care about a retrun ticket.

Maybe all the airlines worry about was not useing them for a return flight.

The reason i did not buy return ticket for was simple.

I did not know if i would return to Bangkok with her.

If i was with her we would go singapore airlines and stop of in singapore.

If she travelled alone i would send her thai air a direct flight.

Nothing sinister we were just thinking ahead.

  5. You are correct.

The amphur where you get married will give you name change documents, take these along with the marriage certificate, iD card and family (blue) book to the Amphur in her home town.

This is the only amphur that can chang her name.

If you do not already have a birth certificate get it from the amphur while you are there.

All will need to be translated.

A new passport can be obtained from any passport office.

  6. Getting married in 1 day is not so easy unless you have all the correct paperwork from Australia. That paperwork needs to be translated and then authenticated by thai Gov. which takes 3 days. You need a bit more from the AU embassy as well. Go to Bangrak amphur. When you get married they will ask you if you want change of name documents. The only place her name can be changed is in the amphur of where she was born. Take these documents to that amphur. Take the family book as well. The passport cannot be changed until you have the new id card and family book. Then that takes about a week. Get to the passport office early as there is always a big line up. If you change her name before you leave for au then the au embassy has to ne notified and there will be a delay before you can leave. Your best option is to leave things as they are and travel. Do a name change and passport another time. I have and done it all and know what it takes. Expect her to get questioned at the airport in au. Stupid things like what are you going to do in au?

  7. I originalyl put this in the motoring forum, sorry.

WE are going to Kanchanaburri to visit the wifes grandmother.

Usuall we get a bus from Phrapradaeng (mother in laws)to Kanchanaburri then motor bike and truck up to the village.

It is long and hard and i dont want to travel like that again.

Car hire is the way to go. Only i dont want to go in the city and drive from there.

Anyone know a car hire place in the western suburbs.

Phrapradaeng, along suksawat road even Samut Phrakan or maybe further out west near the bus station.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

  8. I want to hire a car to go out to my wifes grandmothers house north of Kanchanaburri.

Usually we get a bus fro Phrapradaeng. Then it is a pain on trucks and motor bikes from kanchanaburri.

Anyone know a car hire place on the west side of the river, Phrapradaeng, along suksawat road or even out near the bus station.

Anywhere realy that is not in the middle of Bangkok and out on the west side even Samut Phrapkan is ok

  9. We have done the tourist visa bit 2 times now.

The courier fee was to have the passport etc sent back to Phrapradaeng where we lived. A bit easier than going to vfs.

Your best off paying cash in there anyway it is only a small amouunt of baht.

If you ever do a spouse visa then it is whole different storey.

Allow 1 week for the tourist visa, don't expect to automaticaly get one i have seen some big mouth australians in vfs after a tourist visa has been refused.

You will only get 3 months not 6 or 12 months

    Good Luck

  10. We lodged a spouse visa in Australian emabssey in Bangkok on May 12, 2011, not even 4 months ago.

My wife went back to Bangkok fron Australia 1 week ago after her tourist visa expired.

Today she got a call from the case officer . She told my wife to go to the embassey on Friday at 10 am to collect her spouse visa.

We are shocked, amazed and probably even confused.

There as not even an interview. Just one email in 4 months asking for one document.

We were prepared for a minimum of 10 months.

Lost for words is all i can say.

  11. My wife's first 3 month visa was from Feb to April this year.

She went back to Thailand end of April. 1 Month later we applied for another tourist visa and a spouse visa.

A 3 month tourist was granted and she is in Australia now and returns to Thailnad on August 28.

She has a case officer and no further documents are required by the CO. Medical is done.

Can we apply for another tourist visa in possibly October about 1 month after she returns to Thailand.

Has anyone done anything similar to this.?

If so what was the outcome?
