  1. The attached file is exactly how to marry in Thailand.

As i said before the documents must be autheticated by the thai government dept of consular affairs.

The address of where to do this is in the file.

The best way to get to the thai consular is to go BTS to MO CHIT then get a taxi for about 180 baht to the consular.

Go in the front door up the escalator you will find the office on the left. They speak english enough to know what you want.

If you go to an amphur without authentication you will not get married. Take 2 photo copies of everything or they will send you outside to a copy shop.

Go early like 9 am and be prepared to wait a long time. We went at 1 pm and left at 6 pm.

    MARRY TO THAI CITIZEN.pdf

  2. I did this mariage 6 months ago.

The documentsfrom the embassey have to authenticated by thai authorities before you go to amphur.

You have to go to a thai gov office out near the old airport to have it authenicated.

It will take 1 day if you pay express.

If you go to an amphur authentication you will not get married.

If you need to know where to go get back to me and i will look in my files about where to go

  3. I have done just that.

2 weeks ago we lodged a spouse visa and a tourist visa at the same time. In VFS My thai wife has been to au before on a tourist visa.

I phoned immigration in au and was told to lodge both as they would be dealt with independatly. Wrong advise and not the forst tome from immigration in au.

A few days after the applications were lodged i got an email from the au embassey in bangkok stateing they wanted criminal checks and health checks for the spouse visa before the tourist visa would be processed. Police checks are in the process the medical was a different storey.

We went to a hospital near the au embassey in bangkok and the hospital said they need a HAP ID number before they would do the medical. So we went over the road the embassey got the number.

The hospital send the medical directly to the embassey not to us.

As of today the embassey still hold her passport and will not return it untill the thai police check is in place. This friday thai police told us.

    Untill then ?

  4. Here is some usefull information if you intend to lodge a tourist and a spouse visa at the same time in Bangkok.

I know becasue we did it over the last 2 weeks.

We went to VFS , Bangkok and lodged both applications.

Only hickup there was they wanted 4 pics of me. I couldnt see any where in the apps 4pics of me were wanted. No big deal 250 baht in VFS office.

That was Monday last week. Friday the au emabassy called my wife and asked her why she wanted to go to australia. This is her second tourist visa. She told them i want to be with my husband. They said ok we can only give you 3 months because you lodged a spouse app.

No probam 3 months is fine. Thanks.

This morning they send an email to me saying before the tourist visa will be approved a police check for each country she has been in is needed and a thai police check, also a health check.

This is unusual because a health check is not asked for untill you have case officer and police checks are not asked for untill months in the application.

I told them they already have the cambodia police check in the application and that Thai is applied for and expected soon, that we will get a health check today.

So of we went to a hospital near the Australian embassey in Silom.

The hospital said they need what is called a HAP ID before they will do a health check.

Trying to phone the emabassy is impossible so we walked over there.

Finally we got in and got a form printed with HAP ID on it.

The person we talked to said the tourist visa will be approved when the health check and police checks are in for the spouse visa.

I asked for my wifes passport back and they said no.

It will be returned when the tourist visa is approved.

    Back to the hospital.

3000 baht later they send the results to the embassey.

I have never jumped through so many hoops in my life.

If you want to lodge both have your police checks first and get a HAP id from them before you to a hospital. No HAP the hospital will not do.

Now we wait on the thai police document.

Also now they tell me they want the cambodian ministry of justice criminal clearance certificate original not the translated version.

If i missed anything ask me

  5. We applied for my wifes 2nd tourist visa on tuesday. She had been in australia for 3 months and back in Thai for 1 month.

Applied for a spouse visa at the same time. Was told 10 months for the spouse 7 working days for the tourist.

cost i think of the tourist was about 3800baht and 600 baht for VFS

Can anyone tell me the cost of a Tourist Visa for a Thai going to Australia, application fee etc and also how long does it take.

    Thanks for your reply's

  6. Go to the Police Clearance service centre building 24 royal thai police headquarters, rama1 pathumwan, bangkok.

Easy way is take the BTS and get off at Siam square. Police are opposite side of the road to Siam shopping centre.

    8.30 to 4.30.

Thai national will need, passport with 1 photocopy, id card with 1 photocopy, house registration with 1 copy, name change certificate if aplicable.

Foreign applicant, passport with 1 photocopy, document(s) cerity that the applicant is working, used to work or residing in thailand, work permit if applicable.

Applicant with no bad record takes 7 days.

  7. I like people who think outside the box. Unfortunately those that can apply for an onshore partner visa are generally those that have a substantive visa where condition 8503, can't be imposed, such as an ETA visa. Thai's unfortunately cannot apply for an ETA visa and must therefore apply for a sublass 676 visa where '8503' may be imposed, or depending on their relationship with an Australian citizen or permanent resident a subclass 679 sponsored family visitor visa where 8503 must be imposed.

With regards to your offer to witness stat decs and certify docs in BKK. Nice to see someone giving back to the forum. I wish you and your wife all the best with regards to her application.

    Bridge

I am confused as why you (bridge) said to lodge the tourist visa after the spouse visa.

Procedurally it would be very wise to lodge the offshore partner visa application first, then apply for a tourist visa to visit Australia during the processing of the partner visa application. As with any tourist visa application the applicant must clearly demonstrate that their intention is to visit Australia as a genuine visitor only, regardless of the fact that they have previously traveled to Australia and complied with the conditions of that visa. Also have a look at Question 36 on the 48R (page 13) and be aware of the applicants obligation to notify of changed circumstances pursuant to Section 104 of the Migration Act. If circumstances change so that a visa applicants answers given in relation to an application are incorrect (Q.36) in the the new circumstances, then the applicant is under a duty to notify DIAC of the changed circumstances. Any change of circumstances must be notified to DIAC between time of lodgment of the application and when the person arrives in Australia.

I Had presumed that becasue of Q36 on the 48R (applied for permanent) that the torist would need to be first, then this question honestly be left blank.

I had also presumed that if a spouse visa was applied for then a tourist visa would be not be approved untill be outcome of the spouse visa.

  9. If you are in australia write your sponsor letter as a statutory declaration.

In your statutory declaration refer to each section as attachment "A" "B" etc.

Mark each seperate section(each storey) as an attachment eg: "A" "B" etc. Mark it on the top of the attachment.

    Take it to a JP.

Make sure you use a commonwealth stat dec. It have "oaths act 1959" on it.

  10. I think the same. A second visa will have no further stay, but we always live in hope.

It must happen sometimes how esle can you lodge an onshore app?

So we will go to cambodia and get the police clearance, and lodge the app in the embassey in Bangkok.

Then at a later time lodge the tourist visa.

Hopefully she can come to au while the spouse visa is being processed.

    On a lighter note.

I want to live in Bangkok, She wants au. What a predicamant.

    Thanks for the info.

By the way, i am a JP in au and i will do stat decs and cert copies in Bangkok for anyone while i am there.

  11. My wife is in au on a 3 month tourist visa.

When we return to Bangkok we are going to lodge a spouse visa application.

Then a tourist visa app so she can go back to au while waiting for the spouse visa.

Immi in au has told me verbally that the 2 different applications can be lodged and both will be processed independantly of each other.

Has anyone had any experience doing this?

How long do they keep a passport when applying for a spouse visa?

Does the embassey accept a credit payment if the details are written on the application in the appropiate boxes? Or do i have to go get cash or a bank check?

Because she worked in Cambodia for 2 years i presume that means we will have to go back there for a police check, is this correct?

A lot of questions i know, but there is no where else for answers.

    Thanks all
