Having a BBQ? Maybe some more sensitivity on this subject would be in place.

Spearfishing with any type of gun is legal and since spearfishermen are selective in what they spear it is considered quite approptiate. Whereas anglers catch a lot of attractive non edible marine fish. But there are very few fish around nowdays thanks to overfishing, pollution and the hordes of SCUBA divers.
That's an interesting view, care to explain and do you have any proof for this statement. Thanks.

Good lightning would help as well along the road. There are stretches of road from Mermaid/Premier Bar towards Plai Laem that are dark for hundreds of meters. There are lights but they don't work. The lihgts between Mermaids/Premier and Tesco Express are a joke, about two bulbs work on that stretch, the rest is either broken or has vanished.

Nadimos Lebanese restaurant in Bang Rak, located inside the Prana resort, is really good with authentic Lebanese food and reasonably priced. Well worth checking out if you like Mediterranean and Arabic food.
They have all the 'classics' on the menu, cold and hot mezze's and plenty of good mains.

Not too sure if this time there will be another election, from a democratically point of view, the right way to go but 'TIT' and such, anything can happen. This time around it's not as clear cut but whatever the result will be, most likely it will be at square one.

No Limbos, just confused. Why..well because you are no a moderator, not the OP and not my dad so what right do you have exactly to stick your beak in and question whether other members should be posting their opinions?
The answer of course is none at all so mind you;re own business.
Actually, funny that you mention it, but I am minding my own business on a public board.
Having a pms moment?

Very well put Rob!
Yes well put and nothing will change.
I do think it would be possible though to provide some kind of flashing warning light at night to warn drivers/riders of a open drain as opposed to something the equivalent of a toothpick.
Also, why are government vehicles, such as garbage trucks driving around without lights? Is it too much to ask for them to set some type of an example?
Now wait for some fresh face on the island who just luuuuves the danger to post that if you don't like it why don't you leave alt=biggrin.png width=20 height=20>
Carmine, Rob already acknowledges that most likely nothing will change, that's part of why the post is so well put together.
Sorry, is there point to your post or are you giving me a ticking off for having the temerity to post a thought of my own?
Touchy?

I'm shocked by the fact that Big C can put a comprehensive post together with more then two sentences without any grammar frivolities. Shocking indeed.

And what makes you think that Phangan roads are that much safer?

I have a question:
I see lots of school kids finishing the day at school, heading home on their bikes with no helmets.
If it is the law to wear one, why is it the schools have not made it mandatory that kids riding bikes to school must wear a helmet?
Because they have no driving licenses, you must be 18 for that.
So they can't make it mandatory to wear a helmet as that would mean they are officially acknowledging that breaking the law is OK.
Oh so true, this is a fairly big problem on Samui, local parents letting their children drive motorbikes before they're legally old enough to actually drive a bike. It becomes really scary when you would have an accident with one of the kids driving a bike who isn't old enough, regardless of the question who's mistake the accident caused, you'll be likely to pay the family in question money to settle the case.
One of the most reverse logic items I know.

There's a new Lebanese restaurant at the newly up done resort when you enter Bang Rak, coming from Fishermans Village, looks a little upscale. Anyone tried it yet?

Most of the local and durian in general is heavily sprayed.
We get ours most of the time off family who don't spray.
Mon Thong is my fave though!

Agree that many Thai drivers are bad and dangerous drivers who in general have no environmental awareness about what's going or how other cars/bikes will react and that it takes time to stop a car, the higher the speed, the longer the time/distance to stop.
However, too many tourists have no idea what they're doing on a bike and are almost more dangerous than the Thai drivers.

In principle a good initiative but it seems that nobody with a diving background has been consulted and IMHO the plane will just disappear with the first storm since it's way too light to stay in a fixed position without being anchored down.

Crematoriam
in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Posted
It ain't funny, especially not if you had family members and friends being cremated here. It's a very emotional moment in life, not to be brought down to the level of 'humour' that you tried to attempt.
