Brilliant advertising and promoting of the new film Fast and Furious 7. I bet many posters will be kicking themselves when we find out that Tony Jaa has been released to the US production company with a distribution deal for Thailand involving Sahamongkol. Theaters will be full to the brim and all thanks to Ex-Pat and Thai posters who were so busy commenting that they forgot about advertising and promoting of a product! Brilliant!!!

Happy War Canoe Day! By the way, not to be outdone, Thailand has ordered 3 submarines to use against the Lao Navy in case they want to invade - when it was pointed out that Lao was completely landlocked the Thai military had a meeting and solved the problem by having the submarines fitted with wheels!<deleted> no-one has said SUB HUB!!

The navy boys must be getting a little distressed, they want some new toys. Who could possibly be a threat against Thailand?
Samoa has some war canoes.

"Also at the scene was Khun Sirirat aged 38 who works as a cashier at a Walking Street Bar. She told Police that she was on her way home when she came across the American who appeared in a confused state and was naked. She approached him to offer assistance"
A naked man and a Thai lady? What assistance was she going to offer?

Also interesting to note that after spending as above, many Government schools are to mean or tightfisted to supply whiteboard markers and even the kids textbooks are either counterfeit photocopies (I thought Thailand was putting a stop to counterfeiting) or, even worse, rubbish that has been written by Thai English Language Teachers which, have hundreds of mistakes and in any case make very little sense!
Ask yourself why do most school accountants have a brand new car every 2 years or so, then ask yourself about the inflated prices on the invoices and cash slips, then ask yourself about the entertainment venues that many school directors give, and finally ask yourself how much do the Thai teachers outings cost that they have every year staying in the best hotels at the most expensive resorts, then perhaps u can come to some sort of conclusion. out of the School budget and the extra money coming in from MOE how much is spent on education, and how much is spent on entertainment and overseas trips?A "teacher" married to a "policeman" lives across the street from us. She "teaches" pre-schoolers." She proudly wears her govt. uniform and makes sure her new car is always clean. The govt. made the loan for the car and requires minimal payback. But the LOOK she and other car driving teachers present is remarkable. Unfortunately they do not TEACH adequately. SHAME for their impact on the youth of Thailand and the country's forward movement into a fully modern democratic society. I'm glad I am NOT a teacher in LOS.

Sounds to me very much like two childish groups both who will do anything to get headlines in order to convince the general public that they are fighting to support their cause which, in both cases, is of course, solely aimed at helping their (voting) supporters. Maybe it's about time both the Government and the opposition all went back to kindergarten whilst the general population sought to find politicians (on both sides of the house) who could put the public first and their money grabbing mates last on the list!

Slightly confused here - firstly there is the Universal Health Care System at 30 baht a throw for those who are not employed by Government of Companies etc. These people attend a government hospital. Then there is the Social Security System, for people in full time employment (Westerners and Thai)with monthly subscriptions between 420 -750 baht (depending on income) and with the same amount also being paid by your employer (this system also gives you a local pension at 60 years). With the SS you can designate a Government or private hospital in your area (working area).
The second bit about higher priced drugs will be paid for by the Government? Some hope for that, the 30 baht will be increased and SS monthly subscriptions will like wise be higher so, who pays in the end? The people!
PS. I could be wrong but in my experience and under the SS system you are covered for every and all costs of treatment

Ha-ha could be heads - I missed it, tails...... or as an adjective; to be engaged in the pursuit of pleasure; sensually self-indulgent: a hedonistic existence of booze, drugs, and parties! I think the second definition sounds more like Phuket, don't you?I know what a thieve is.
And I have an idea what hedonism is.
But what a hedonistic thieve is eludes me.
MMmmm hedonistic
Must be when he Heads on out with his mate to pinch stuff

Now, thieve? I give up!

"Similar incidents happen amongst drunk Thais and Burmese alike". Did you forget the expat westerners? From what I read on TV about Phuket and Pattaya many of them act the same when drunk! Why is this news? Similar incidents happen amongst drunk Thais and Burmese alike on a daily basis all over Thailand... Both ethnics are equally violent and short-fused when alcohol comes into play...

At the end of the day, it appears like Rambo got what he was asking for.

All previous postings are total rubbish, a Burmese national (with 100% no documents) can get a temporary (one year) permission to work in Thailand by having someone to guarantor them for work (Thai or Westerner) and by paying 3,900 baht to the labour department (not immigration), this also covers medical insurance. Why do people post such stupid postings when they have no idea what they are commenting about?

300 angry parents stage Phuket Town school protest
in Phuket News
They want to close it because someone said that it should be changed to teach children. A concept that is against education department policy!!
